Honestly I don't even feel like development truly started until the last couple of years. Development was super stagnant for a really long time but lately they have finally been implementing features and content. It wasn't until 3.0 that it actually became somewhat of a game and started getting worked on. Some updates may still be getting pushed back even with the new roadmap but at least they're finally making progress. I feel like the first five years was them trying to figure out how the hell they're going to get the idea working on CryEngine and now we're finally in development.

Plenty of games have had rocky developments but they aren't always transparent to us, we always find out about all the crazy ups and downs later. This project could very easily fail and even in the low chance that it releases with most of the promised features will it even be a good game? I'm in on a hard gamble but it's too late for any regrets, I'd only have myself to blame. I'm really into the idea of what the game wants to be but realize everything always sounds better on paper than what it actually ends up becoming. If this game ends up being scaled back heavily on features but is still a good fun game I'll be satisfied. I just want a space game with that sense of presence. Not simply being a ship. Being able to collaborate with other players on a single ship. I can only have hope at this point anyways, not like refunds are available this long after my purchases. If I lose on the gamble I can't even be salty about it, it was my decision. I knew what I was getting myself into from the beginning and even back when I made my first purchase I thought I was a bit crazy on such a wild gamble. Wish me luck.
