Psi-Ops with SCP

I wish the gun was more satisfying to use. When you look at it you envision a revolver that makes a fat thud when you fire it.

Instead it was more like HL2's USP. Just violently dissatisfying to shoot. The "pierce" mode was OK, but still didn't really feel that good.

Pierce definitely feels the best. Shame you're not allowed to upgrade it.

nude mod when

The elite are all about transcendence and living forever and the secrets of the universe and they want to know all this, some are good some are bad some are a mix; but the good ones don't ever want to organize, the bad ones tend to want to organize because they lust after power. Powerful consciousnesses don't want to dominate other people, they want to empower them so they don't tend to get together until things are really late in the game, then they come together and evil is always defeated. Because good is so much stronger. And we're on this planet and Einstein's physics showed it, Max Planck's physics showed it- there's at least twelve dimensions. And now that's all the top scientists and billionaires are coming out and saying it's a false hologram, it is artificial, the computers are scanning it and finding tension points where it's artificially projected and gravity is bleeding in to this universe. That's what they call dark matter. So we're like a thought or a dream that's a wisp in a computer program, some God's mind, whatever. They're proving it all, it's all coming out.

lmao

Is it connected in any way to the other Remedy games?

Lies.

Alan Wake is explicitly mentioned and makes an appearence. The events of QB are hinted at. Max Payne is cheekily referenced in an Alex casey way.

Alan Wake is mentioned as one incident in which the FBC intervened.

Take Max Payne, make it more generic, add Mass Effect powers, make those more generic, do the most generic of writing that makes you forget what the game is even about, and that's what you get.
The base idea was great, but the execution is poor and bland, bare, dry.

Now if you gave me Max Payne movement and gunplay in addition to those powers,
gave me Dark Messiah of Might and Magic influence in terms of setting up the environment to make use of those powers as well as gunplay,
FEAR AI, and something more creative and action-filled with regards to writing which also allows various external factors to come into play to make everything already said more interesting, we'd be talking a good game.

Gotta suffer for fashion user

Woman following schizo voices in her head stumbles upon SCP foundation, who immediately dub her their leader.

no it was fucking great

magnitudes better than any other fight I've had so far in the game which is mooks, Mold-1 and the first(?) battle with the Former

Stellar lore, worldbuilding and graphic style
Mediocre gameplay
Disappointing plot
Also what's wrong with those faces?

Her face is tired.

I'm not even talking about Jesse, just look at NPCs

Same world, alans wakes typewriter is an scp

Perfect description.

Pretty much all the bosses are terrible
I'm currently stuck on Tomassi 2nd fight and Anchor
I'm really bad at video games in general though

Anch you just throw the red clock on each platform into the center

That only gets me to the point where it speeds up.
I guess upgrading launch damage would help?

>he didn't max out launch asap
You fool.

ah, i didn't consider that they might do different damage based on launch upgrade, due to there being one on each platform and that they took off 25% of it's health per launch I assumed it was the 'trick' to the fight.

But yes, launch damage was the absolute first thing I upgraded because nothing else seemed even remotely as useful.

You can throw anything, doesn't need to be clocks, also using pierce against anchor and hit inbetween the cracks if you're lucky.

I'm probably six hours in. Are all these upgrades really just basic numbers boosts?

Is there a point where I can like grab more than one large object at a time and just completely go to town with them? Or like summon a maelstrom of debris to completely fuck everything around me? Also do I get another gun?

>Gameplay
Pretty solid, unfortunately you unlock all your weapons/abilities about 3 hours in, and are stuck fighting the same 6-7 enemy varieties for the rest of the 9 hours of the game. Upgrades are just +damage or +energy recovery.
>Setting
Probably the standout, SCP the game.
>Story
Think NBC Science fiction show that doesn't get renewed for a second season.

Its about fun

Attached: contrl.webm (1100x680, 2.83M)

Not even kidding this is a shill thread the game is fucking dogshit, refunded the dogshit after 2 hours.

One gun, but you can craft different forms (can equip 2 at a time), such as shotgun mode/sniper mode etc.

All the mods are % increases of some kind, the upgrades are % increases down the starting column, the offshoot upgrades are modifiers like +1 max enemy seized, can throw enemies when they're low hp, can throw heavier things, etc.

There's no 'ultimate' upgrades or anything, all upgrades/mods do to a power is enhance it a bit.

Tomassi fight is hard because of the ads, clear them first, same for the anchor

I'm honestly shocked there is dialogue going back to places after you've beaten the game.

Tomassi is easy if once he summons the adds if you just fly to the top and lame it out. You're biggest threat will be the invisible vampire at that point

you can pick up large objects later, throw your shield at enemies, do a ground punch when levitating etc.

Well that's a bummer. This is going to get old fast if that's the case.

That murdering forklift will kill no more

Different poster, it did for me.

The game felt padded and way too long. This happened with Alan Wake too. It just keeps on and on.

I like third person shooters, but these two, and maybe Max Payne 3 too, at one point I just got bored and had to force myself to finish them.

>too long
I beat the game in two sittings, the ending came so much faster than I expected

It's a catch-22 with the game. Doing the side missions drastically extends the game and it's also where you get your upgrades. But exposing yourself for too long to the tiresome combat makes it more grating as well. Yet you need to do the side missions since getting more shit in your arsenal is good.

Basically what I'm saying is why in the actual fuck did they design the side missions this way? I don't even understand why there were so little bosses in the main route.

The Golden Suit is revolting

Really? It's my favorite of the bunch

Langston is best staff member, prove me wrong.

Mirror Outfit >= Default >> Golden >>>>> Tactical

haven't found others yet

>IT'S SCP THE GAME BRO COME ON AND PLAY IT
>finally pirate it and play
>it is SCP but they took some of the most boring fucking SCPs of all time
>the enemies are all generic besides a handful of bosses
>you don't even get silly little SCP-based upgrades to your gun or your powers
Fuck you Yea Forums. I actually got fucking baited again. It was still an okay time. I'll buy it if it ever shows up on GOG a year from now to support Remedy.

Threshold Kids a best.

I like the game but this is my biggest gripe, every weapon feels like a peashooter

I rushed the launch skills and magneto my way to the end

WHERE'S THE FUCKING TRAFFIC LIGHT

nvm fixed it

I used the grip and shotgun for the entire game, shotgun is great with a rate of fire and choke upgrade, the last few battles were so fun when you zip around shotgunning everything. problem is a lot of people are probably playing on console and you can't play properly that way. game was clearly designed for keyboard and mouse and being able to quickly snap between targets and turn quickly.

should have been kbm exclusive and forced console users to get a mouse

The enemy variety was also bad

They made an SCP game with no SCP monsters... no SCP-682 type boss. Just generic "corrupted human" enemies

I also wish they had benign/helpful SCPs

There are benign SCPs like the duckie

>Hey there's this fridge help me
>Go to help him
> He dies anyways now I'm stuck with this shit
>try to commune with it
> coolest boss so far. Hard as fuck. Finally beat it.
>Get nothing

Come on. I'm loving the game though. People say it's short but if you aren't just flying through the main story and actually exploring you'll have a good time. Everytime I find a secret that you have to work for its rewarding.

The setpieces and overall world design are great at least. The Oceanview Motel was probably the highlight area of the entire game.
If anything, the Oldest House as a whole is actually really disappointing as an area.

And I miss how dysfunctional SCP was as an organization, almost comically dysfunctional even, especially the D-boys and how much of a cluterfuck the entire SCP catalog is. Missed that tone in Control.

The ashtray maze was cool. Also, some of the areas the altered items were in were cool.

keep doing langston's quests and you'll get more fights

Oh yeah absolutely. I wish the Oldest House shifted around that much for the full House of Leaves experience.

If you want to play the Kojima mission but you're not on PS4, you can unlock it because they just left everything in the PC version

Attached: 1561279112863.png (1312x542, 33K)

Map variety - bad. You have an alien, unknowable house as your bureau, and you make it look so fucking boring and samey. At least in the areas controlled by the Hiss they should have done something different, even something as small as different lighting (not just the red one). Or they could have explored the Bureau in the past, where the furniture was different, and the ambiance different.

The motel seems like a missed opportunity too.

And friendly NPC behavior: in the power plant, I somehow got enemies to follow me near friendly NPCs, and their reaction was 0.

And how about, you being the director and most important person from an authority point of view, being able to lift lockdowns and so on, once you find people with weapons and the harness against the hiss, not once do they say "Oh, Director, don't go alone in the next area on your vitally important quest. What if you should die? Here, take these 3-4 soldiers as an escort."

You're the boss of the entire fucking organisation and you have to do everything by yourself, go everywhere alone. I know it would have been a different game if you were accompanied everywhere, but have at least a few missions where you are escorted and protected.

It's funny how the very first thing they say in Alan Wake is how a mystery loses its coolness if it's fully revealed, yet this entire game tries to make sense of the occurences in Alan Wake, defining things like the Light Switch as Objects of Power.

Womyn uses her vagina powers to destroy a building

Bro fucking thank you.

The FBC is tonally dead on for how an American agency would handle the role of securing and containing spookies. Not quite a comedy of errors, but definitely held together with duct tape. There's the general dumbness of the PSA messages, the incompetence of the Threshold Kids, and a fair number of stupid ass deaths. For example, there's one Altered Item that paralyzes people in its vicinity, and they decided to not lift it out via helicopter because it was too dangerous, but they did decide to just put it on a truck and drive on public roads.
Plus there's the whole corporate culture angle which SCP generally fails to execute well since it's written by younger people lol

but it's not fully revealed. All they did was give it a name. They still have no idea how it actually works

>The motel seems like a missed opportunity too.
The best part about the motel was that one FMV from Trench where he mentions how people were only able to find a key to the black triangle door. Every other door there was still a complete mystery. That tickled my boner a lot.

All in all, I think they needed more indescribably weird SCPs in the game. Or just ones that are plain dumb or utterly harmless. Like the drink bar or the lizard that only showed in your periphery. They should have gone full ham on potential sure death easter eggs as well like all the SCPs in Containment Breach where death was pretty much guaranteed if you interacted with the object.

I can't begin to imagine how poorly this game must run on PS4/xbone considering how it runs on my 2080 TI/9900k

I really like how The Board was kind of just there running shit caught in the middle like you and not on either the evil invader or good guy protector side of the dimensional forces.

>gameplay to cutscene ratio of 4/6
lol not even close. at worse it's 8/2

You're a bad shill user
And also probably a nigger

I have a 9700K & 1070 and I get 200FPS on medium-high settings. Turn off RTX

"Former" is Darling

Ahti is Polaris

I can see that but I just like how tonally all over the place SCP was. Yes because it was written by hundreds of different people but that's the best part. It's a different kind of insanity compared to the bureaucratic red tape that wraps up FBC.

Too bad it was aggressively co-opted by trannies, self-insertfags and rulesfags over the years.

>Too bad it was aggressively co-opted by trannies, self-insertfags and rulesfags over the years.

You can say that again.

This game is great, cinematic but not in a boring snoy movie game way

Totally out of your ass.

I don't have any more proof than you do, but I think Former used to be in the Board, if indeed the Board is an organisation made of multiple entities, like it would be in our world.

Ahti is just a dude who knows stuff because he's been there since forever. Probably has some paranormal talents too.

why do people keep saying it's cinematic?

Ahti is The Oldest House personified

I fucking hate it when you fall and you can't fucking fly back up. So fucking stupid.

It's directed very well. Classic Remedy.

Polaris is you .

for me, its pierce followed by the grip
in the early game i was just running at enemies with shatter but it became pretty unviable after more powerful enemies and bosses started to appear

>gaining ammo back while shooting

Attached: 1565726989839.png (529x509, 339K)

That sounds pretty cool, too bad I own a toaster and consoles shit the bed hard on this game

They stack?

What's the puzzle for the duck?

Yeah I wasn't memeing your ammo goes back up while you shoot while levitating.

Look how they massacred our boy

Grab it :-)

You can also use the PS4 skin-tight outfit on PC

It's basically a the secret world and scp love child

Alan Wake and this game are coming from two different perspectives, but are tackling the same subject. Alan Wake was about diving headfirst into the unknown and embracing it in order to use the power there, even if you didn't know what the consequences would be. Control/SCP is more about seeing the unknown and then trying to build walls around it, constantly cataloguing and classifying everything so that you "understand" it better. They don't of course, no better than Alan Wake and his dream/fiction logic, but they are both able to use these things because their disparate approaches arrive at the same conclusion.

It's kind of implied they don't really have much say or control over just about anything, the only thing they actually offer is that they understand how the Astral Plane works better than we do so can be a guide but in return they basically NEED someone to act as their proxy to get anything done.

The gameplay sucks and is genuinely too artificially difficult for its own good, relative to the kind of game it wants to be.

Enemies that take 1/2 your health every hit (even with max health upgrades) are also bullet sponges with shields or stealth or flying.
The magic gun you have is supposed to be a superweapon but it does practically Z E R O fucking damage on every mode except the sniper which you can't even upgrade.
It's more effective to just spam throw shit instead of ever actually using the gun since it does way more damage, hits more targets and has slight homing on the aim but then of course spamming the throw drains your dash so you can't actually fucking dodge any of the bullshit enemy damage.
Preserving energy for dodge isn't an option either; the gun is just too shit and the flying enemies will dodge your attack half the time.
The AI is also horseshit, I can't tell if its awful or intentionally too good. The suicide bombers and rocket troops will literally camp behind cover forever without even trying to move out and attack you. Since you have no opening, there's nothing you can do about it short of actually just walking straight into whatever it is. Shielding only protects your front, so if it's a T-junction or 2 pillars or whatever then enjoy eating shit.
Also, you only regenerate health from killing enemies and picking up the bits they drop. Fucking why? So many trashy third person shooters have unnecessary regenerating health and here's a game that actually needs it but doesn't have it.
For some reason, you can't even actually use cover properly either, only crouch. Where is the system they had for that in Quantum Break? It worked fine, so where is it now?

Sam Lake should just move on to writing shit for TV like he so desperately wants to do, and the rest of Remedy should fucking kill themselves for once again failing to produce anything even resembling acceptable gameplay.

Attached: 1488466791585.jpg (500x359, 30K)

git gud

It's better to throw shit to break the shield, then use pierce and they usually die with just that.

>the Board approved of this post

idk about that friend i feel like the game is too easy.

You can easily just run/fly around throwing shit all day and barely get hit. If there's a ton of enemies you just mind control some and hang back and throw stuff. As long as you're sprinting/dodging/flying you're basically immune to projectiles/bullets

Ahti is an Old God of Asgard

im literally only camping enemies with the revolver/pierce and hijacking every time i have the chance, that shit is op
you can also hijack the healing nodes to heal yourself lmao

Max Payne with guns.

Should have made the mind control power something more fun.

angry white woman killing men with the force.

Man, I'm loving this game. I thought levitation was going to kill the joy I got from exploring unintended locations by exploiting the dash mechanic, but it turns out it's got a height limit and you actually still need to get crafty.

Just had to stack a chair on a floating motherfucker so I can stand on his head to reach a hidden area. 10/10

Why is the shilling for this game so lazy?

It's just the standard shit that happens when Remedy comes out with a new game.

retire sam

i don't get these values in mine, maybe because it's pirated
