>Norman Reedus is in chains >The chains are broken (He is released) >He has a baby (naked snake) >The baby is taken from him (Konami steals his franchise) >He looks unto an uncertain future
Also, "Death Stranding" is a name for fish who swim up on shore and die for no reason, kind of like how Konami killed MGS for no reason
Yes user, we've all watched the fucking video by now, and yes it sounds fairly plausible - if a bit overwrought. Kojima is just the kind of emotional sort to do something like that, hard to blame him I guess and at least it worked out
Nathan Edwards
Is it 2016 again?
Aiden Hill
All that and Konami doesn't give a single fuck + makes better bank than ever.
Ablooohoohooooo some japanese man was fired from a company that changed course to a more profitable business model that he had no place in. Truly the most tragic thing to ever happen.
Brody Rodriguez
Good to know this dude was so much of a hack he spent millions to shit out a walking simulator to go “waaaahhhh big company fired me, celebrity friends pls comfort me”. Truly the Jesus of the games industry.
Camden Long
lol it’s just vidya m8 there is no deeper meaning or anything
Zachary Gray
>implying nips don't care about their product
it's not mudslimes we're talking about
Henry Smith
This is some retarded reaching headcanon as expected of Yea Forums
Nicholas Butler
The monsters of the week episode on this was way more interesting and seemingly accurate. Note the date of this video. They concluded everything that other guy from the grate debate did just 3 years ago and with way better video editing. youtube.com/watch?v=xbr_vyayk2E
Brody Lewis
>konami killed MGS Kojima is as responsible as Konami you fucking retards he acted like a dick and got what was coming fucking hack
Ethan Thomas
I'd think Kojima would be happy to be freed from MGS. He was always saying he wanted each of his later games in the franchise to be his last. I can understand being a little bitter, but in the long run being fired from Konami was a blessing, his creative vision no longer being hindered. I don't think Kojima is such a petty asshole.
Owen Long
Konami cares more about pachislot and casino games.
Dominic Mitchell
>Konami killed MGS for no reason They killed it because V was in development for over 5 years and still released unfinished lmao
Cooper Edwards
If you played it you will now why it took 5 year lmao
Nolan Cruz
Why? Empty spaces shouldn't take that long to make
Evan Ward
>mads=sorrow >reedus=ocelot >death stranding = the boss on the beach of normandy (mother whale) >handprints on reedus' body= the sorrow performing the c-section (explained by his paranormal abilities peering into the unknown) >6 locks= 6 keepers = 6 cobra members
death stranding will be one giant mindfuck that ends with the cobras on normandy during d-fay
Michael White
>neckbeards so asshurt that MGSV wasn't a movie that they side with a company who's only relation to videogames is mostly phone games Are MGS drones the most pathetifc of them all?
Caleb Cooper
>side with The fact that you feel obligated to take a side here just shows how retarded you are
Julian Rogers
>asshurt that V wasn't a movie And it doesn't even take advantage of stuff previously done in the series like survival or disguises. Or how every soldier you deploy as has a perfect english accent despite language being the main subject for the villain. This last one is more of a nitpick but c'mon. At least he learned from it.
Eli Morris
>And it doesn't even take advantage of stuff previously done in the series like survival or disguises Probably because survival mechanics are a waste of time that do nothing but involve more grinding and disguises always cheapen everything out.
If anything, the complaints should be the game wasn't far more realistic, should have gone the ArmA 3 route and make it a fully blown military simulator.
Jackson Carter
So... its all about Kojima being a big baby
Logan Martin
>survival mechanics are a waste of time Guess that's why they are bringing it back to Death Stranding and you could find something to balance the disguise like in 2/3. But you're probably right, think it would have turned out a lot better if they went the military simulator route.
Ryder Martin

Jack Williams
>mobile games And also music arcade games, inarguably more hardcore and gameplay focused than anything Kojima ever did. Educate yourself before parroting what people say
Brandon Johnson
Why do MGS fags suddenly pretend to care about gameplay, when you praise MGS1, 2 and 3, while shitting on V? This is the most dishonest larp i've ever seen, you never gave a shit about gameplay, you just want le ebin plot about le generic bandana eyepatch man.
Angel Smith
Anons, I have one serious question for you.
Let's say the game gets mediocre scores and seels bad. I'm not saying it will, but let's imagine that. The game gets mediocre scores and doesn't sell well. Who will you blame?
The impression I get from multiple posters on multiple sites is that you have to buy this game no matter what and believe in Kojima because he knows what he's doing. But also, if something turns out bad (like MGS5), then it's not his fault even though it's his game.
Tyler Myers
Metal Gear may have been Kojima's creation back in the MSX days, but it has since grown into a AAA game franchise. The people responsible for that franchise have every right to make games in his absence, which is what they are doing currently. Imagine telling someone who worked on every Metal Gear Solid game since MGS1 that they're not allowed to make Metal Gear because muh Kojima.
Brody Campbell
nah, riding a jeep through afhgan with D-Dog was the best. I just wish there was more of it, especially some type of coop with online friends playing as their avatar or DD soldiers. So who's fault? sony with constraints/higher ups back pedaling the deal? would explain pic related.
If Sony back pedalled the deal the game would be cancelled.
Thomas Rivera
>But also, if something turns out bad (like MGS5) The only people who think MGS5 is bad are MGS fans, and those only want movies with no gameplay whatsoever. MGS has had a cancerous legacy of forcing the idea that videogames are fit for storytelling, although that was somewhat redeemed by MGSV.
Hudson Ward
The more you snoyboys talk about how "deep" this walking simulator is, the more I believe Konami did the right thing by getting rid of that overrated hack.
Anthony Reyes
I wrote MGS5 on purpose because I know how poorly it was received among the fanbase and how ''Konami ruined it''. I haven't played the game yet, I should've noted that, even though I bought it some time ago. Apparently, I will like the game because I love Peace Walker, another game that is supposedly ''shit''.
Jaxson Reyes
MGSV is pretty much Peace Walker 2, so yes.
Luke Wilson
>the more I believe Konami did the right thing by getting rid of that overrated hack. They didn't get rid of him, you can't fire people in Japan. Kojima left because Konami was going to focus on phone games, something he clearly has no interest in. Also, companies are about making money, nobody cares about the quality of what they put out as long as it sells.
Benjamin Collins
fpbp
Benjamin Jones
I meant in a more "We are going to cut the funding if you don't meet this deadline" or them possibly having a falling out after this is over if he does nothing but show cinematic trailer after cinematic trailer with no release. What this user said I wouldn't call it shit, had some fun with it and it did some things I wish 5 had done as well.
Jayden Jones
>Kojima left because Konami was going to focus on phone games, something he clearly has no interest in. This isn't even slightly true considering that Konami kept the entire Metal Gear team intact and they've been working on the new Metal Gear. Not to mention Konami have a new Silent Hill in development, outsourced of course.
Adrian Hernandez
Again with this bullshit. Konami always owned the franchise so nothing was stolen, if Kojima feels that something has been taken away from him it doesn't mean it's true.
Owen Lopez
MGS5 and 3 are pretty much the only ones that don't overdo the cutscenes and story to the point that it's 35% gameplay and the rest is story and codec calls. Not to mention their great gameplay mechanics.
It's Peace Walker's tonal opposite, and also Peace Walker if it wasn't shit.
Zachary Rogers
We can't have a real conversation about DS until people acknowledge what Ground Zeroes was all about.
Isaac Butler
>I meant in a more "We are going to cut the funding if you don't meet this deadline" or them possibly having a falling out after this is over if he does nothing but show cinematic trailer after cinematic trailer with no release. Based on four tweets? Also, you actually think Sony cares about releasing nothing but cinematic trailers, when Sony themselves have entire games that consist of nothing but cutscenes like Beyond, Until Dawn and Detroit?
Brandon Hughes
yeah cool fag, it's a walking sim, no one cares LOL
>This isn't even slightly true considering that Konami kept the entire Metal Gear team intact And we've all seen what that resulted in. They are going to focus on phone games, they are far more profitable than console ones. Not that I care, MGS is over, and unless they plan on expanding heavily on MGSV, which I doubt since they need to revive it and the cancerous MGS fanbase only wants movies, it might as well be dead.
In a proper world, MGS would have died with MGS1.
Juan Diaz
It's about a poorly designed soldier with an unironic eyepatch rescuing a kid and a girl that was raped.
Dominic Phillips
>The people responsible for that franchise have every right to make games in his absence Considering those "games" were mostly cutscenes, the only right thing to do would be firing all of Kojipro along with Kojima for clearly not understanding the idea of a videogame. A team of talentless hacks that never managed to game stand out for anything save for record breaking length cutscenes.
Lincoln Adams
Hypothetical, user. It happened before between KJP and Konami after years working together so I wouldn't be surprised if something similar WERE to happen with Sony if KJP crossed some line in the budget with just the actors and feature creep. Think they will show anything at TGS? Dunno if Konami will be there.
Camden Ross
>It happened before between KJP and Konami What happened is that Konami wanted to focus on phone games, not on console games.
>feature creep. DS has no features, it's a movie that appeals to cancerous MGS redditors who hate gameplay in videogames.
Ayden Reed
So basically Kojima is Donte? >Gets 70 million dollars from Konami >FUCK YOU
Brody Evans
What budget? You faggots talk about budget all the goddamn time and you have yet to actually mention numbers. Hell, i've seen people say that MGSV was unfinished because of licensed songs eating up the budget even though Rockstar pays like $5k for the most expensive song licenses.
Noah Cruz
Second/first thing they did after they left was Survive, was that focused more on gameplay or story? Same can happen to Sony, they can just lose interest on their work for being an expensive cancerous movie game and focus on their own. Think it was some woman who worked at Konami that mentioned that in some yongyea video, but it doesn't matter since TPP was finished with only EP 51 not being pursued as DLC. And I just used budget as a reason because that was the first problem they could face that came into mind.
Eli Rivera
>unironically got it all wrong this game will be the greatest pleb filter of all time.
>If anything, the complaints should be the game wasn't far more realistic, should have gone the ArmA 3 route and make it a fully blown military simulator. that's literally the most retarded thing I've read on Yea Forums in all summer gz underage faggot
Gavin Phillips
>being an expensive cancerous movie game You mean exactly what Detroit, Beyond and Until Dawn were? Games that had quite literally zero gameplay and hired actors much more expensive than DS', like Willem Dafoe?
Eh, fair point. At least DS is trying to have some empty open world instead of literal scenes with "branching paths".
Luis Fisher
>Konami cares more about pachislot and casino games. are you blind! what about the Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection, Super Bomberman R and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner MARS? are you living under a rock? ffs they got a lot of staff making games and that includes Contra: Rogue Corps, who fucking knows what they gonna release Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls as well if mobile games counts
I just don't understand this idea people have that publishers somehow care about the quality of the games they put out. They want money, that's all, they don't care about the gameplay or anything, just that it makes money.
Jaxon Wright
But it's true. What MGSV needed to be a 10/10 was realistic ballistics, bigger maps with many more bases, more maps, removing the linear levels, letting you use any kind of vehicle including boats, ships and aircraft, deploying with a squad or even deploying your entire army... Basically a more stealth focused ArmA 3. Forget about the cancerous contraints of the MGS franchise, this is what MGS should be from now on.
Angel Gomez
They could explore that if they go the Outer Haven side of story, except maybe using aircrafts. I'd rather have the game be about solo infiltration with maybe 1 buddy. Drop into the mission through an aircraft like in MGS3 or through water like in MGS1.
Michael Foster
>People in this thread defend Konami which shifted gears towards mobile gacha shit and gambling instead of classic video games, they are everything that's wrong with this industry Stay classy
Thomas Baker
>So who's fault? sony with constraints/higher ups back pedaling the deal? would explain pic related. Very hard to imagine. Sony has already funded his entire studio. Seems unbelieveable that they would backpedle the deal.
70 mirrion dorrar not enough for my regos and burger habit!
Ayden Nelson
So? How the fuck does that invalidate my point that Konami is a part of the cancer that's slowly killing this industry? At least Kojima wants to make actual video games, that's why he left that piece of shit company
Jose Richardson
The difference is Konami is focusing solely on that while only having PES and sitting on a pile of IPs for years without doing much with them. Capcom and Platinum are still putting out games.
Austin Anderson
did you two fuckers ignore the post up top?
Gavin Brown
Konami slowly are returning to vidya. It was even said this month they are planning to revive some franchises. With project between minor and bigger depending on the hype of the franchise, Contra was unlucky with that since it wasn't popular since the early 2000. Mg and Castlevania are luckier, both probably are in dev, at least it's 100% sure for MG.
>So who's fault? sony with constraints/higher ups back pedaling the deal? would explain pic related. Very hard to imagine. Sony has already funded his entire studio. Seems unbelieveable that they would backpedle the deal.
Nathan Johnson
Op is full of shit. A proto death stranding probably already was in early work at konami. Survive used some of it for the single player and setting of the game (with the general gameplay being a cut mgo3 dlc.) But we will never know the whole Konami Kojima drama, we are probably missing an huge piece of it. In the end I'm still supporting both for the future.
Fine, other companies do it too with "dead" series like Megaman and Bayonetta, but they have to start making other stuff soon like Castlevania and MG for consoles. I hope so. And I'm with this user as long as they put out any game worth buying, I'll be there.
Brayden Green
How bad will the cope be when the game really turns out to be a simple walking simulator?
Gavin Lopez
it's be like wojak on /biz/ again
Easton Sullivan
Mg isn't over. It's confirmed the 200 ex Kojipro staff + some other guys aren't in any mobile games. They also made a completely new video game division last year. They seem to do more like 50/50 now. They have three division at KDE. One is mobile and console, one is card game, and the last is apparently console games. The next games if not remakes are probably going to be different yes, but not bad. I'm optimistic for now, I think the next 5 years are going to be better, a mgr2 also isn't out of the question when platinum will be less busy.
Based Konami Best move they ever did was getting rid of Kojima
Austin Garcia
Name 1 (ONE) good game that Konami has released in the past 10 years
Christian Johnson
>The next games if not remakes are probably going to be different yes, but not bad. Considering their track record of only making garbage, I seriously doubt that.
Nathaniel White
nobody's perfect
Christian Price
>MGSfags still in cope mode There's no bigger joy than seeing the MGS franchise up in flames. You redditors are so desperate that you unironically believed that Demon Edition bullshit.
No franchise deserved to get pissed on it's corpse more than MGS. Videogames are not for storytelling.
Michael Ramirez
cope
Brody Reed
But few are as incompetent as Kojipro. 20 years and not a single legitimate fun game.
Brody Jenkins
Lord of shadow 1 and mirror of fates were alright Mgsv was good even if a weird mg Survive was alright for a little spin off Bomberman r was a good bomberman game, especially after the free patches
... Neverdead probably was bad but I still like it for some reasons.
Cope with what? MGS is dead, and we got to see the hilarity that happens when an MGS game turns out to not be a movie A franchise dedicated to people who clearly hate videogames deserves to die.
Eli Rogers
>listening to anything Voidburger and Co. have to say
Nicholas Moore
>Videogames are not for storytelling lmao
Hudson Allen
There's still plenty of good guys at the company. A standard MG game directed by the mgrr writer would be very interesting. Demon edition was utterly retarded. Why having Fukushima back when they still have etsu and Murata? But it's just make sense mg isn't dead, like it or not, Konami can't abandon it because it's too big of an ip : second most selling franchise of KDE, ever. Mg isn't dead, some people are going to be pissed with that but it's The truth.
Mason King
And why would Konami start producing video games again when they can just spam gachashit and make millions?
Gavin Davis
They aren't, they are awful at it, there's a reason all talented writers avoid videogames. Well, that, and the fact that people unironically think shit like TLOU or MGS2 are "literary masterpieces".
Jordan Perry
>There's still plenty of good guys at the company What's their credentials?
Daniel Bailey
They can do both. And looking in their recent move that's what they are planning to do. Of course it won't be a 80 millions budget game like V was (the game had the highest budget of all other Konami games in existence) but still bigger than now. In between "full gacha" and "full console games".
Josiah Nelson
Because MGS fags are the most pathetically desperate fanbase of all that will eat up anything and spread their asshole to anything that points at more games about le epic bandana man. They are bigger fanatics than ponyfags and Star Wars numales. If something has the Metal Gear name on it, they'll desperately defend it.
A fanbase of the quality of its franchise.
Easton Baker
At least 75% of the old Kojipro stayed, maybe more. Even Shinkawa can be replaced by the mgrr artist who now work as freelance with Konami. He even did some shit in mg survive. (even if most people never saw them because it's some endgame shit.)
Dominic Lewis
They'll make some half-assed garbage with "Metal Gear" or "Castlevania" on it and suddenly they care about gamers, right? What a joke. They will never make a good game again because the guy who could make them no longer works for them.
Jordan Sanders
How about they bring in people with actual talent instead of a team of devs that made games with terrible gameplay and fucked it up everytime they had to make an actual videogame? After all, MGS Rising was cancelled and MGSV is one of the emptiest open world games ever.
Daniel Jackson
>A standard MG game directed by the mgrr writer would be very interesting. Yeah I'm sure a game directed by a writer with zero experience in game design would be great. Retard.
Jeremiah Green
For MGS fags there's nothing to a videogame beyond the plot, so it makes sense he thinks that. No matter how much they larp about how they want to see DS gameplay.
Brayden Bell
The Evil Within
Liam Wilson
Mgsr was cancelled because of Kojima. Not Konami. The whole story was done so was a big part of the gameplay. With one more year it would have been finished. Kojima wanted more staff on V. Mgsr also isn't really an example since it was only done by newbies of kojipro. The higher staff guys already were on Pw and V. Iga literally said 2 months ago he could return at konami for a Castlevania Agree. Murata however would be better. He was supposed to replace Kojima since mgs4 after all.
>Mgsr was cancelled because of Kojima What? All the reports said that it got cancelled and given to Platinum because all the work they did was garbage.
Henry Price
play splinter cell and thief, sticking around is making you dead inside
Evan Watson
Kojima cancelled it because he wanted more staff on V + it was taking too long + very weird placement of the staff (director just was an art director and producer was a literal who) And a lot of the old staff from mgsr still were on mgrr. The writer stayed the same guy, Korekado who was the second producer of mgsr and far more experienced became the main producer, the original director of mgsr also still had a part...) Etsu said he want to revisite the story of mgsr. According to the localiser of MGRR it was literally "the best MG story even if not written by Kojima."
Gavin Ramirez
>splinter cell and thief The most soulless, generic and piss easy stealth games out there. Overrated as fuck.
Didn't Kojima actually thanked Konami for letting him go of MG and doing what he want? People think there's a big war against both when it's not the case.
Carson Sanchez
All of this hatred for Kojima is only because he’s making a Sony exclusive. Yea Forums would be sucking off death stranding if it were on the switch.
t. idort
Kayden Ortiz
But how does Death Stranding explain all the men and women Kojima fucked in the ass?
You're probably right. But I also know for a fact that Kojima has built up a cult of haters because they think he's pretentious or whatever. Like it fucking matters, since the majority of his games are polished gold.
Kevin Rodriguez
They wouldn't be making money if people simply didn't buy their trash, but they do.
Jackson Ward
that doesn't make any sense
rising is just a spinoff not a main title in the series
Joseph Diaz
it doesn't matter, konami has put priority on mobile gaming, the rest of the team works on sports trash rehashes
