It's neat but it feels like it's kind of a waste because the level is in 3 sections that you get between via portals. 1 of the sections is 1 spyro world, and the other 2, separate sections, are both from 1 spyro world. Rather than doing 1 world each section (or 1 game each section), or making it longer track with more sections.

Crash has a very limited amount of characters to choose from. Their best bet would be to combine the franchise with Spyro to manage to have a chance, unless there was an actual new game in between then and now.

That's the reason it's jarring that they've scrapped characters and the Spyro GP has so little going on.
It's not like Spyro has that many memorable characters either, those Spyro Team Racing images are already scraping the bottom of the barrel with characters like Ember from Hero's Tail as proof of It. It would be in their best interest to merge both IPs for the purposes of a kart racer.
