Im interested in WoW classic, but how long will the game be alive? Are they going to add content or will it just be the same game forever? If its no new content is added, then id imagine the game would die out pretty quickly

they havent made public any other plans. would love TBC to be added. ill even be happy with them just making new content for vanilla.
i think runescape did something similar

Your mom is content

>would love TBC to be added
Then why not just play the full game?
The point of classic is to get away from the garbage expansions that ruined wow

>How long will the game be alive?

In some way, forever. People have been playing on private servers for 15 years

>Are they going to add content

Blizz says stated their looking at both re-releasing BC and Classic+, with re-releasing BC being easier for them. They'll do which ever seems more popular.

>game would die out pretty quickly

Nah. Theres 6 phases of content being released, this is just phase 1 / launch. The queue times being what they are have seriously hampered my leveling experience, but expect most people to start hitting 60 in this phase, with MC and Onyxia, and then World PvP + world bosses unlock in phase 2.

When BC was released, most players had never even come close to finishing the raid content. Cancerous no-life raid guilds would complain if nothing gets added/they release AQ+Naxx too slowly, but those faggots are the ones who ruined WoW in the first place and so they deserve to get shafted. Unfortunately, all of the shit they complained about was catered to in vanilla and so Classic is doomed already to go down the same path.

I heard in the past that they might add some content. It’s my personal opinion but I imagine they might add some unreleased raids like emerald dream or dragon’s island that would be only on accessible for classic. They could make those raids as if they were really made with vanilla spirit according to the old datamined content we all saw on YouTube.

EU fag here, which PVP server should I choose?

>Im interested in WoW classic, but how long will the game be alive?
Right now the game is in Phase 1 and quite frankly, Phase 1 literally has no end game. Its gonna hurt lots of people who rush to 60. Take your time, it doesn't matter if it takes you 3 months to get to 60 instead of 3 days. Because theres nothing to do once you hit 60, you can't even PvP. Theres no honor system.

A high population realm in 2005 had about 2,000 players.
The games subscription is literally tied with live-wow. It's nearly impossible to kill

you'd have to kill live-wow as well

Are there any people actually hating TBC though? The sub numbers back in the day of the expansion release were insane. I wouldn't mind adding TBC and then moving into a different direction adding new content on top of that

Yes, TBC added Arena which would be the beginning of the downfall of WoW with its cross server bullshit.

>should i play classic
no fuck off nigger we're literally full play something else

I'm just about to start playing right now. My friend is already on Deviate Delight. Would rolling on a Medium Server be a mistake? Should I just play on a High Pop Server by myself?

>Would rolling on a Medium Server be a mistake?
Medium servers are perfect. Enough people to feel alive, but things are light enough for there to only be small queues and during peak hours only.

I've considered playing classic
but then I remember how I'll just end up quitting because it's hard to level by yourself and I'm afraid to play with other people because I don't know optimal builds and tactics

How long is phase 1 estimated to be?

>Classic+
what does this mean

like OSRS

I don't know anything about OSRS

I actively shit on people who are dismissing non-optimal builds, and I'm not the only one. Don't listen to Yea Forums or tourists who looked up the optimal builds. Do what you want and have fun. A very small, although vocal, percentage are pushing full optimization and trying to run dungeons with "fast runs". As long as your minimum level for dungeons, it doesn't matter as long as your specced to tank/heal/DPS. Hybrid specs are just terrible for leveling, so you wouldn't wanna do that anyway. Just go down one tree until it's capped, and if you wanna hybrid later on just think about it for a bit. The talents are incredibly simple, and it's pretty clear which talents within other trees will compliment what you already do.

TL;DR: It's a game. Just play it if you like it.

I'll only be able to play it in three months so I hope it's still alive until then.

>your

Fuck you, TBC was great, at some point they have to transition to it, it's the natural upgrade.

TBC has nothing to do with BFA, fucking retard.

Same, well technically I could play it now but school starts next week and I don't want to risk getting addicted to this during first semester. I'll try it out towards the end of the year when I'm less busy, hopefully there are still people levelling by then and it's not just a bunch of level 60 autists.

people who think TBC ruined WoW are very out of touch, it was far more popular than vanilla and Blizzard has already made 2 expansions WoD and Legion based on it, TBC servers are inevitable

runescape made a classic version and then the classic runescape ended up so popular they continued making new content for classic runescape. Theres plenty of stuff Blizzard can add to Classic, like old planned raids and dungeons they never added, like the vanilla Emerald Dream raid

>Classic is doomed already to go down the same path.
I'd say history repeats itself but that assumes this muh nostalgia cash grab is still alive next month

Yeah, I just started writing my thesis, if I fuck this up I might as well kms. All I wanted in all honesty was to be rich and play vidya every day.

Maybe I'll try to get those neetbux people always talk about here.

Keep in mind medium servers aren't "medium". They have layering with 2500 players in each layer so if a full server is 5 layers of 12 500 players and a medium server is 6250 players so if you think a medium server is only going to low like back in the day with only 1000 players you have nothing to fear.
Once layering is removed in phase 2 those players are all going to be on the same layer which will likely mean queues again for the full servers.

So what, are they going to do Classic, TBC classic, WOTLK classic next and just run up to BFA classic and then repeat this same cycle again in 5 years?

Where does it fucking end.

medium servers are only "medium" relative to the ridiculously overpopulated full servers. I play on Bloodsail Buccaneers and it's very active.
but who knows how many players will quit over the coming months

Retail babies and min/maxers are retarded.

Observations on Herod(Horde):
-The minimum level for dungeons has for whatever reason, been raised. People do WC at 19+, SFK at 24+, RFK at 29+.
-Once you hit SM you join in the mongoloids 10 man farming it. Warrior Cleave groups. Mage "magic" cleave groups. Everyone else can absolutely fuck off.
-Shamans as a class have entirely been replaced with Windfury. They don't exist for anything else.
-The cookie cutter retards have absolutely no idea how to pvp.

I'm leveling with friends and one of them decided at the last minute to not roll a tank which threw gears in our plans. We basically do dungeons as 4+1 random. Our comp is Rogue, Warlock, Hunter, Priest. We've opted lately to not even look for tanks anymore since the "cleave groups" retards don't actually know how to Sunder Armor mobs.

I fucking blame streamers for these retarded strats and players.

Like shit, I'm playing the hunter (Marksman) and I've KITED Skull level druids who don't know how to deal with scatter shot and aimed shot. They see sodapoppin and think they're pvp assassins or something and just get killed like shitters. It's even worse with warriors who get aim shotted to death at 41 yards.

And hunter pets don't even fucking work properly.

Good choice man. I planned to just play casually, get my girlfriend on with me and just chill all the way to 60 and actually read the quests.
I just gamed for 8 hours yesterday, I'm already 18 and my girlfriend haven't even had a chance to play yet and is still level 1. It's addictive as fuck.

It was popular because WoW was popular.
You can find plenty of games which did well only because of the success of its predecessor.
What offered TBC was worst than vanilla as a whole. Only the raid and the starting zone for the new races.

a long time
its much more addictive than retail and once you commit a good amount of hours its hard to stop playing

If you come for content, game is not for you. Fuck off to BfA please.

leveling by yourself isn't hard, you just have to play cautiously and zone into the grind. it's not faceroll like modern WoW but it's not hard

>leveling isnt hard
>lists reason why leveling is hard
what did he mean by this

>I'm afraid to play with other people because I don't know optimal builds and tactics
What an irrational fear. In my party we just went "Oh God" when the mage didn't know how to cast intellect buff and then keep on playing.

Goddamn it, I feel it. I never played WoW or any MMO but I feel that shit.
I'm rolling a dorf hunter on nethergarde keep or whatever and shit is so comfy. Every level up feels so satisfying

Haven't managed to socialise beyond funposting with some people in general chat, though. At what sort of point should I start looking for Guilds and shit? I'm having fun just running around doing shit.

I can manage fine without guilds since most of them are just meme posting atm but around 40 I'll probably join one for easy access to reliable players for instances.

>Blizz says stated their looking at both re-releasing BC and Classic+, with re-releasing BC being easier for them. They'll do which ever seems more popular.
They said that they're going to be "tuned into the desires of the community" and that "upgrading to TBC would be very easy for them."
They have not said anything about what they're actually going to do. Everything people are saying about Classic+ is conjecture.

There are tons of ret paladins running around and I cannot believe how many retard druids I've seen running around trying to play balance. You'll be fine.

I'm a bit intimidated by how to level my character. I know people dont care so much about optimal builds but because I'm not used to MMOs I worry I'll end up in hybrid hell.
For hunter I'm looking at either beast mastery or marksmanship. Although I'm under level 10 so fuck do I know

Good pick on hunter for a first time player. I went with beast mastery first time I played and it's great for levling. Once you're 60 just read a guide which details the best spec for hunters or do as I did and realize people don't want hunters in raid and reroll a different class but now with all the knowledge I learned the first time so I'm not a total noob.

>People don't want hunters in raids
Hyper mega gay, they're such a fun class
