Jay's albums always deliver memorable lines and great instrumentals. You’re equating lyrical content with being creative though. This isn’t necessarily the case, especially not with rappers themselves. There are literal “rappers rappers” dudes that are considered legends that only rap about one subject: Hip Hop. It’s a genre that started out by being clever, putting words together creatively and moving the crowd. At the end of the day, that requires zero lyrical content or even the ability to tell a story. And assuming that the reason he’s making albums strictly for money seems off. The guy makes more money repping basketball players and boxers then he ever would selling records. You don’t put out an album when you’re 50 unless you have a certain level of love for it.
