So Fire Emblem bros, where do we go now after the huge success of Three Houses? Another remake perhaps? What do you want to see now that light has been restored to the series?

The only good fire emblems were over 20 years ago

fire emblem xxx R rated porn games with excessive gore every time a unit dies and incredibly graphic sex scenes

Can we get the cube games espanded?

Not remastered but expanded extra content and missions along a visual update.

The 20th anniversary of Thracia is tomorrow so you're wrong

Attached: 1567017399458.png (530x417, 92K)

Is the new game worth it if I played everything up to RD and tried and failed three times to get into Awakening? Been meaning to get a bing wahoo for metroid or animal crossing but who knows when that shit's coming

Depends. What is it you disliked about Awakening?

The last 3 non-renakes have been shit. It's time to let the franchise die.

Well the gameplay will probably get even worse so we abandon ship. 3H is also badly written, just not as bad as Fates so it gets a pass.

If you don't like a lot of srpg in your srpg it's alright.

The shitiest recent game WAS the remake

Attached: felist.png (745x516, 332K)

Technically the game that restored light to the series was awakening on 3ds. It kind of saved it from actually dying.

Love to see FE 6 and 7 remakes. I know thats a stretch

Fates lowered the series to something even worse than being discontinued. I'm glad it's finally getting buried

Attached: ECbu3BpX4AUUIgQ.jpg (1074x1074, 151K)

Better than fates, awakening, and three houses

Don't really know, all three times I lost steam when all the child units started showing up, felt like I was expected to get and use them all even though I know I could just ignore them. The game also gets really boring when walmart comes into the story and I just lose interest.

Gaiden was the worst game in the series and it's remake parallels what made it shit. Don't even try to compare it to conquest

>Trashia
>good

>PoR above B
>CQ below S
>Binding Blade below S
>Archanea isn't even present when New Mystery is SS tier
Phenomenlly awful taste

If you say that while praising 3 houses then you're being a hypocrite. 3 houses wouldn't exist without the 3ds games actually saving the franchise. You can personally hate them, but you can't deny they managed to bring it back by being successful with retards.

Yeah Awakening falls apart after the first act in both story in gameplay. You'll find that Three Houses on the other hand picks up steam as it goes on but your enjoyment of the game will also depend on how you feel about micromanaging and running around like in Persona

Release 3H DLC -> Make more 3H banners / Finish Book III in FEH -> New Remake

So far, that'll take us to 2021. Beyond that, idk.

I'm not implying that the game wasn't a financial success. I just didn't like what FE became known for after Fates. I still shudder thinking about that one event where you blow into your DS screen to "cool off" characters after a bath

>worst gameplay in 10 years of recent series

This game is a few steps back actually

Intelligent systems will make a new Advance Wars, if we receive a new Fire Emblem this generation it will probably be a remake of Holy War

It's impossible to have worse gameplay than Echoes

Obviously it is because we wound up with three houses

please stop bullying echoes
thanks

As someone that dropped Awakening around the first half I loved 3H. I'm not a veteran of the series or anything but Awakening bored me to tears with its cast and plot, the shit with children was when I decided it wasn't worth investing the autism in it. With 3H I got basically everything I had wanted out of Awakening, a srpg where I battle armies for political power and marry a cute girl.

>and marry a cute girl

>RD in S
lol

This but marrying a cute boy

Not really - the director of Echoes has gone on record that he really wants to do a FE6 remake, and a 7 remake would likely be included so they could add generational eugenics stuff.

I mean, that'snot THE reason I care about the game but it was nice.

You give Echoes too much credit but I understand your sentiment.

Fire Emblem Echoes Jugdral compilation. Literally no reason to remaster anything else -- New Mystery is too recent, FE6 only makes sense alongside a retranslated FE7 (which they probably wouldn't do), and there's no reason to remake anything that's already localized.

An FE6 remake has the potential to be the perfect Fire Emblem game

Changes I would make:
>Reinforcements appear on player phase
>Throne bonuses are halved
>Roy promotes after Chapter 16 or 16x
>Douglas doesn't move in Chapter 16 unless you come into his range, or he does move but you can recruit him with Lalum/Elphin
>Visual indicators of where the heavenly arrows can shoot in 16x
>Heavenly arrows can't kill
>In Chapter 11A, Klein and Thea will always move
>Allied soldiers whose goal is to leave the map will always go toward leaving the map instead of suiciding on the boss
>Raigh and Hugh get hard-mode bonuses
>Less fucking berserk staves
>FE7 Torch staff
>All Divine Weapons get 30 uses
>Fae's Dragonstone gets 50 uses
>Gonzalez stays the same regardless of route
>More promotion items, and earlier. No reason why the game should expect you to have a fucking unpromoted Hero's Crest unit at Zephiel
>Supports grow like in Three Houses, fighting within two spaces increases them, healing increases them, there's a visual indicator of supports increasing, as well as the normal way of ending turns adjacent to each other. No support limit per chapter.
>Paired endings for everyone
What do you think?

I just started FE7 and have to ask, when does baby mode turn off? Coming off of 3H these tutorials feel ridiculous, the game won't let me do anything without three text boxes explaining it.

Attached: 0ecc6995-1dd0-45d2-b036-79a180232249.png (240x160, 27K)

Lyn mode is unbearable and the fact that you have to beat the game twice for the only real FE7 experience (Hector hard mode) is ass

Sorry to sound like a faggot but is there any hack that lets me get to the good shit then? I assumed these Lyn chapters would end after a bit but if tbis is most of the campaign I might just drop it.

The proper way to play FE7 if it's not literally your first FE game is to download a completed save or use cheat codes to unlock all modes, then start with Lyn Hard Mode.

you can download a save with everything unlocked and just do a new game off of that

You can just download a save.
Lyn mode isn't even half the game, really.

back to classic mechanics.
>por/radiant dawn menuing and base convos
>fates skill system
>no requirements for promotion/class change
>gba rescue mechanic
>pre awakening forge mechanics
>limited supports gba and tellius style
>fates style support building
>fates attack stance and defense stance mechanic
>reimplement weapon triangle
>no canto after attacking
>reclassing from fates including partner seals
>reclassing gives you class weapon ranks new mystery style (single weapon classes start at C 2 weapon classes start at D,D for weapons you have no exp with)
>no paralogues
>no turnwheel
>gaiden chapters
>personal weapons for some of the cast
>1-2 range for every physical weapon but they are much worse than the normal weapons
>holy is replaced by staves
>light anima and dark magic are useable by every magic class instead of sage bishop sorceror stuff
>enemies get skills
>no avatar
there i made the perfect fire emblem game

>no turnwheel
God I wish. The worst new mechanic they added is here to stay because shitters don't understand risk management

Turn wheel would be okay if they limited it to three maximum. One at the start, onein the middle, and one near the end. 1% crits still exist and are just as bullshit.

>Echoes below Conquest

Attached: 8e63612d9681895c43ac0ffd3dd79e3b39cdc788.jpg (666x666, 376K)

Can I get a fair rundown on Conquest? From what I hear it has the best gameplay and maps but like the other fates games the plot and cast is retarded beyond belief. How important is the eugenics shit? I really hate the idea of trying to make it so everyone marries the right person and such. I don't really care about the waifu shit, and even then fates cast is said to be shitty so it probably wouldn't matter anyway.

Attached: 75055478_p0.jpg (596x811, 519K)

the promo item at zephiel map was incase your hero or swordmasters died on that chapter and you need another i guess

its like 11 chapters or something.

It doesnt have the best gameplay out of all Fire Emblems, but out of the Fates trio it does.
Everything about Fates is literally the fucking worst in Fire Emblem history except the gameplay of Conquest.
Eugenics is entirely unimportant. Child units in Fates arent even worth getting compared to Awakening. Base characters clear the game just fine.

>How important is the eugenics shit?
Not important at all. You can beat everything without picking up any of the kids.

It's very veeeeery overstated. Its "good gameplay" is probably people selectively cherry picking maps like chapter 10 and chapter 24 (which are legitimately good maps) but the game is otherwise full of bad gimmicks, mediocre - subpar maps, and horrible unit balance. If you've already played a game before, you'll also hate what they did to weapons and the triangle. You can pick it up for completions sake but you won't lose much by skipping it.

you know what conquest has

good map design

A Genealogy of the Holy War remake is likely next, at least from the Three Houses team.

10 with buff downs brigade members and a not super restrictive tower unit amount, and maybe some actual fucking supports. Then it'd be the perfect FE.
Outside that, 4 but faster.

Attached: arden painting.jpg (512x512, 31K)

>eugenics
so child units are in the game but they really dont matter until they become broken with offspring seals aka the last like 6 maps. i usually wait until sakura to get child units unless its kana cuz her map gives lots of exp. pairings dont matter unless you want a good skillset/good growths for a unit but it really only changes a given stat by +-2 basestat wise and +-4 stats from their growths depending on the pairing.
>maps
some of the best early game maps with lots of interesting enemy skills and unique anti turtle incentives. i really like how much the game encourages you to use everyone for early chapters. mid game is very fun because you can experiment with your team comp and you start getting the broken units like camilla leo and xander and you start promoting. endgame is littered with some really bad maps and a couple good maps.
>the cast
i didnt really care about the characters that much and lots of the supports are slice of lifey but there are some golden ones like niles camilla, laslow mozu, gunter corrin, elise odin, xander selena, arthur elise, arthur camilla. the rest are pretty annoying. almost every character is useable and even the bad ones can work given proper investment like odin and arthur and laslow. one thing i recomend is that if you dont care who corrin marries do male corrin with dragon talent, marry felicia, partner seal her into maligknight and pick up trample and savage blow then heart seal her into strategist after level 15. its the best way to make her viable and the other butler is only good if you know the early heart seal 1 shot strats for chapter 10 with him.
>gameplay
its just refined awakening gameplay. dual guard is really good because if you innitiate an attack with no retaliation and double you get 4 shields then if you get attacked by an enemy you double you get max shields and can block an attack. its very useful for the harder maps and well designed imo.

If you're playing Conquest on a hacked 3DS patch it with the GGG story and thank me later.

the dual attack system is not as useful as it seems besides 1 rounding enemies to prevent their after combat skils from affecting you and killing high priority targets. theres lots of stat manipulation you can do in this game which is nice if you like to plan things out for doubling and 1 rounding thresholds. the classes are a bit unbalanced and the weapon ranks for class changes suck but it doesnt hold the game back that much. one thing i will say is that the early game depends a lot on which forge material you start with which can be a big beginners trap.

>t.shitter
the unit balance is pretty good. any unit can become viable and having god tier units doesnt make other units any worse. the weapon triangle is improved in that game and the maps are not subpar besides a select few in late game.

Thank you guys, genuinely appreciate the input Sounds like something I may check out someday but am in no rush to play. I'll maybe check it out after I complete a few other games.

If you wouldn't mind, can I get a rundown on Echoes? From what little I know it seems the maps are the only really bad aspect, which sucks but still interests me. I really enjoyed 3H but am just unsure where to go from here, 3H seems to be quite different from the others. While I can do without the social sim monastery fluff it still seems

Attached: 74062280_p0.jpg (2634x1118, 1.47M)

>Radiant Dawn
Wow I don't usually blow off a list for its shit taste at the first fucking entry but here we are

I was planning to pirate it, how would I go about this and what does it do if you don't mind me asking?

Echoes has shit gameplay, mostly maps because they're almost 1 to 1 with gaiden's maps. They're almost all just big dumb open fields. The presentation is easily the best part. Decent characters, great voice acting, great music, amazing art. Really it'd be outstanding if the gameplay wasn't trash.

Thrice the game genealogy was it that was good

pretty based list i agree with most entries but where is shadow dragon and new mystery

Plot is awful but it's Fire Emblem what else is new, kids are just side-things you CAN get if you want, but the class system is by and large my favorite of any of the series. There's so many unique and interesting ones, my favorite was the Mechanist with the chinese dragon puppet mount.

Attached: YOOOOOOOO.png (400x240, 197K)

The problems with Echoes are the maps and the unrewarding and repetitive dungeon (and map spawn) fights. With the wide maps, low evade rates, low damage and HP-consuming skills, it feels like pure HP resource management. If you played 3H, it feels rather like its early game, whereas in most other FEs, it feels more like you're playing to mitigate risk. This last bit may be a negative or a positive. To me, it felt interesting and new, helping to mitigate the overall dullness of the game.

Besides gameplay, though, everything is fantastic. The plot is nothing to write home about, but the dialogue, the characters, the voice acting and the presentation really elevates the story in a way that makes it very enjoyable. Oh, and the music is possibly the best in the series yet. Overall, I still liked the game, and it sure didn't leave a sour taste in my mouth like Fates did.

please

Thanks anons. It's interesting to me how this series doesn't seem to have a game universally seen as perfect, kind of makes it hard to consider what to play next. I know it sounds dumb but I kind of just want more of 3H's second half, the first half is whatever but once the war starts it really drew me in. I have heard GotHW is the most similar to it but the eugenics aspect of that game kind of put me off.

First hack your 3ds via 3ds.hacks.guide/ then download the patch from gbatemp or serenes forest. It fixes the plot and makes the main character and supporting cast bearable during the story. If it was the normal game Fates wouldn't be shit on so much.

>genealogy but map is split in 3-4 chapters

>Thanks anons. It's interesting to me how this series doesn't seem to have a game universally seen as perfect
No it does, it's called Path of Radiance

Out of all the games you pick PoR what the fuck?

People overstate each game's flaws. There is no truly bad FE game besides Revelation.

4's eugenics is really simple.
Honestly most pairings are good so you shouldn't worry too much unless you pair like, a magic mom with a physical dad. If you're looking for more post timeskip FE that's basically the best you'll get, even if the gameplay is basically a stomp with the MCs.

>Who you Marry as Eliwood has an impact on Roy's Starting stats in the Binding Blade portion of the remake
>tfw Roy has a shot at no longer being the worst Lord stats-wise in the entire franchise

ROY'S OUR BOY
ROY'S OUR BOY
ROY'S OUR BOY

There are dedicated shitposters against every FE game here on Yea Forums, take it all with a grain of salt.

Fire Emblem fans are just really critical. Every game has flaws you can point out but the only truly bad game is Fates: Revelation

Think you're overstating way to hard here. I wouldn't say 'everything'. The music and art are top notch. The characters are ehh but the supports are so abundant that good ones aren't too uncommon

People that have played Genealogy think its the best, everyone else thinks Path of Radiance is the best despite it having Ike (no one likes Ike)

But user, Roy was never bad due to stats, he was bad because he promotes so fucking late, is locked to swords, and has no fucking mount.

Echoes is a very pretty game, but much alike the Shadow Dragon remake, they didnt do enough with the core gameplay to update it for modern times. You can definitely feel its age compared to other Fire Emblems, but Id say still give it a shot. I wouldnt call it a bad game, just a bad Fire Emblem game.

>no one likes Ike
speak for yourself chump

>FE6 remake but roy promotes after chapter 16 instead

this would be so much kino

>worst lord statwise
He's not he just promotes too late
serenesforest.net/binding-blade/characters/average-stats/normal-mode/roy/
The worst lord statwise is actually SD Marth

My 3ds is already hacked, I'll check this out. Thanks.
I know the Radiance games are quite popular but I have heard that PoR is quite broken due to Ike, though I'll admit my knowledge on this game is rather minimal.
I didn't mean to imply they sound awful, it's just that each game seems to have rather similar flaws that hold them back.
Wow, that sounds a lot easier then I was expecting. I know some people enjoy it but when I had tried Awakening I hated it, I never really thought much about who would end up with who and it made me feel like I was doing stuff wrong since I know the children are such a huge aspect of the game.

Personally I think the perfect Fire Emblem game is 7. Its an immeasurably solid game with good characters and a fun plot. It gets even better once youve played 6.
but yeah, like said its just because Fire Emblem fans are very critical. The gamed are mostly all amazing, so when a flaw shows up its very easy to notice.

teenage female spotted

we get it you feel emasculated by the biggest chad in the series but don't pretend that others agree with you

no that's dimitri

No one likes Ike except teenage females

There's literally nothing wrong with Dimitri

>biggest chad
>not Ephraim, Hector or Alm

Interesting, I think that's a good thing though. As a megaten fan I feel I'm the same way about that series. Even with Nocturne, my personal favorite video game, I find it annoying how some fellate that game.

Yea I was intimidated by the kid stuff at first but they balanced it well enough that any kid you get from pairings is decent to good regardless of pairing unless it's obviously bad. There are even some that are just good no matter what, you get a promoted sage later that I'm pretty sure cannot be made bad no matter his parents, just better.
I will say this though, to make your life easier, give all your good rings to Sigurd on the chapter that finishes gen 1 because they go straight to his son. It'll be obvious which one it is when you get to it because shit will be going down. Also Finn doesn't give his stuff to his kids(if he has one) because he comes back in gen 2.

Attached: BIG news.png (144x184, 59K)

>No one likes Ike except teenage females
Are you forgetting he was the single most popular lord back when FEH launched?

Why is Ike a nigger?

4 is basically set up in such a way that by playing blind you'll likely end up with most/all of your characters in good pairings. And even if you don't pair your characters the child replacements are perfectly usable and even have unique events/conversations.

In fact, FE4 is very blind playthrough friendly and not overly difficult; it doesn't have a turnwheel but lets you save at the beginning of every turn with multiple slots. I'd recommend playing it without looking anything up; you'll have a great time.

Thanks user, I guess I'll check out Genealogy next. I've heard nothing but good things about it and had seen it compared to 3H's second half a bit. It was really the idea of the eugenics and possibly fucking myself over unless I consulted a guide that was worrying me. I try to never consult guides but the idea of fucking a character's build beyond belief always worries me in rpgs.

eliwood is the worst lord in the series, discuss
>roy is worse
atleast he becomes a raid boss in the endgame, eliwood never does anything

Yes, I picked the one with the best story and best characters. Gameplay is kinda subjective since it's about the same as any other game that didn't casualize the key mechanics.

>huge success
>light restored

oh wait you're serious, let me laugh harder

Conquest is still undefeated. It's actually hilarious to me how hard 3H is trying to ape Fates. Fates actually did the "choose your own path" thing and succeeded, on top of having the best maps and characters in the series. I kept waiting for Fates characters to show up in 3H like Awakening characters did in Fates, that way at least it might have been tolerable in some way, but I guess children got their way. :/

at least Eliwood promotes at a proper fuckin time
also his sword is cooler
there I said it

dimitri is just otomebait and nothing else

Eliwood gets a mount and lances.
Roy doesn't.
Thus, Eliwood>Roy.
Also he fucks a dragon and that's pretty sick.

Trying a bit too hard there friend.

Damn nigga. This is a nice bait.
Have a (You).

Don't bother arguing. There's a resident shitposter that claims that PoR is the worst FE of all time because the enemy phase takes too long.

Can't Ced's Speed stat overflow depending on his mother?

Eliwood gets a Mount a D lances when he promotes.
And the best thing is that you can actually bench him in most of the maps in Hector Mode.

I know you're baiting but I still like Conquest better. Gameplay, maps, and characters.

Ced's mom is always the same you dummy. But yea I believe it can with Lewyn.

Best story is Genealogy by far.

>What do you want to see
considering KT did most of the work for 3H, I'd like IS to learn from them so they don't make another kusoge like fates.

Attached: 1516420328109.jpg (483x589, 78K)

I would honestly by happy to just get a port of the GameCube and Wii game. They’re near impossible to find physical copies of and my PC is too shit for dolphin.

>wasting 20k gold to get a bad cavalier

This is definitely worrying to me. I don't think IS is really capable of making large HD games on their own. They've spent the last decade on handhelds and might have gotten to cozy with the 3DS' limitations.

Only on Hector Mode and there you can bench him so there's no point in using him over a real paladin with 8 mov, higher con and access to Axes.

>ranks
>Eliwood mode doesn't exist

Attached: Jaffar.jpg (216x338, 16K)

I'll never understand why people put so much emphasis on an FE game's story. I mean for me it's always just been a backdrop to just explain each new set piece in a map. The true strength of FE usually lies in the maps, characters, and game balance, and the most enjoyment comes out of experimenting with different units and classes and planning how to take on a map. Sure if the story is good like Genealogy or PoR it makes it better, but it's never been the focus for me, especially if the gameplay is lacking

Attached: FE.jpg (450x300, 74K)

>it only works after a unit dies

there, I fixed turnwheel

More cards!

Why would you play an inferior version of the game again?

There is literally no reason to play Eliwood Mode.

Playing it again was never even implied.

If anything the series is getting worse, 3H feels like Persona now.

You forgot 10, 11, and 12.

>Michah
>Shadow Dragon
Are you like 15?

radiant dawn is modern thracia

Miccy Sue is shit but it's still the best in the series with her, ad 11 is comfy.

Maybe I won’t hate radiant dawn as much when I don’t have to wait two minutes for enemy and ally phase to end.

Radiant Dawn was the clear beginning of the decline of the series, and forever tainted by it

wow

I will never understand Yea Forums's boner for FE6.

FE6 is a good game. I'm glad Yea Forums is waking up to understand this.

what there is to not love FE6

Yeah that's why I can appreciate Birthright/Conquest, the units are interesting and have tons of customization and the maps aren't exactly simple if you're playing on Insane Classic.

Also it has the best Bandit Twins, I recruited Lloyd for that glorious 'hawk.

Attached: 41.jpg (500x299, 135K)

t. never played it and formed his opinions over memes about same turn reinforcements and Roy being shit
Try playing it faggot it's a great game
Best FE

I played it back when the translation was janky as fuck so that was one problem. The Gaidens were pretty damn cryptic to access as well (which is also true for some in FE7 as well but at least missing them didn't lock you out of actually completing the game. Ambush spawns are a shit mechanic. The RNG seemed wacky when I played too.

The RNG isn't any different from 7 and 8, the hit rates are just lower overall.

>The Gaidens were pretty damn cryptic to access as well
That's a fucking lie
If you're not playing ironman you should get most of them by default
The turn limits are not strict at all, just don't turtle, you should be making them extremely easily with like 10 turns to spare
There's nothing "cryptic" about it in the slightest. No puzzles. Nothing hidden. Just play the game well.
The only exception is keeping Douglas alive in Chapter 16, who the fuck was supposed to know that Lalum can choke that point?

the only cryptic gaiden is 16x
also ambush spawns help the make have a faster pace because the maps are bigger than 6 and 7

the shitty rng is more about weapons having a bit lower hit rate and enemies having real luck and speed stats

Is Geneology just bad? I like the story a lot more than other games, but for fuck's sake the game is a slog.

no remakes. keep improving and building on what makes three houses good.

i would say that chapter 2 of genealogy has to be the worst single chapter in any fire emblem game
the only good thing about that chapter is that you get to chapter 3 which is the most fun in the game

i almost dropped this shit because of how bad chapter 2 was

you only play Genealogy for the story
gameplay is ass especially with all the backtracking

If you don't like it don't play it :)

the only good thing about 3 houses is the writting
the gameplay good until you realize the classes and maps are as generic and homogeneous because they are meant to be reused in multiple routes and cleared with any party setup you have

i wish three houses was a thing without the monastery shit and without recruiting other house students

w-wait for lunatic mode! i-it will fix those issues!
;_;

Mew Mystery is best F.E.

I haven't played them yet so I'm reserving my judgement. Same with 3H until we get the DLC

It tried out some decent additions to the gameplay without covering it in a story that was absolute shit which is all I can ask from modern FE. The main problems are it didnt throw the turnwheel in the trash or at least heavily restrict it and the ratio of monastery:actual fe gameplay. Also they didnt package an actually challenging difficulty for release. Even though I was pleasantly surprised by 3H I can recognize that it has some bad tidings concerning future games.

>and without recruiting other house students
Yeah, if only you could skip this entirely optional mechanic.

Please leave if you didn't play the game.

No one makes you use the turnwheel, though they give you way too many uses of it. At best they should have given you three or four maximum.

As for the monestary I actually will stay this complaint is bullshit. You can simply rest every weekend if you really want. This fills all your student's motivation by half, which is fine since the lessons really only give a slight boost to each skill. If you explore once a month and dedicate the rest to battles and resting you will be fine.

“conquest has good gameplay” was a sad cope that some people repeated to try to pretend that not all of Fates belonged in the trash. Don’t feel like you have to play it if you dont absolutely want to, I know you have to have other things in your backlog. You should start to see people slowly discard that opinion now that there is a newer non remake game in the series for them to play.

>stat caps make it physically impossible for Marth to engage H5 Medeus without being one-rounded
What the fuck were they thinking?

samefag

His promotion was terrible in every way imaginable. He only got a new animation for using the Binding Blade and went back to basic bitch lord animations if he used any other sword.

>You should start to see people slowly discard that opinion now that there is a newer non remake game in the series for them to play.
You're gonna sit back and give the impression that 3H has better maps than Conquest? Get fucked. 3H has uninspired maps that are accentuated by poor difficulty balance. You see people saying Conquest has good maps because it did, and apart from the OST it was one of the few things that Fates did right.

Just curious but how well exactly did Three Houses do?

Was said to be very successful, IS said it had the best opening sales of any game in the series. I think the drought of switch game helped a bit.

Millions and millions

Switch has no fucking games, and it got actual advertising as a first party nintendo platform in over a year's worth of conferences and nintendo directs

>Switch has no fucking games

Attached: 1531220845772.jpg (998x720, 39K)

No, it has decent maps, but for every chapter 10, there's a kitsune orgy map.

Three houses took several concepts used in genealogy, so many in fact that i'd be willing to classify 3H as a spiritual successor to genealogy

Attached: Sothis_Neutral.png (1600x1920, 728K)

Which of Three Houses's routes had the hardest final map?

I would say church actually, Rhea is hard to take down unless you want to sacrifice some units.

Is it okay if this becomes a general srpg thread?

Anyway, has anyone here tried Stella Deus? It's a ps2 srpg, I've been interesting in it thanks to the godly sprite art in the game, it looks absolutely beautiful. Online it seems to be basically unknown, can't find much in terms of detailed discussion. Curious if I can get some thoughts on it.

its just a clone man

Yes, but a good clone?

If they're doing an FE6 Echoes, I think they should include FE7 in it but only in parts and not the entire thing. Sort of like a Lyn mode for FE6, though I dunno how they'll compress all of FE7 into 10 or so chapters.

Nino and her butt are NOT useless!

I confused this with Stella Glow

Nino is useless
Why would you want to train a shitty mage when you already have fucking endgame-ready pussy destroyer Pent
On that note, why are Pent and Louise's children so much weaker than them? Clarine is a god-tier unit by virtue of being a heal staff on a horse and supporting Rutger but she has 2 mag and you're lucky to gain a single point. The daughter of Pent has 2 mag. Klein is just worse Igrene, and at least Igrene has the excuse of being a female for being weaker than her hunk of a father.

I only play Fire Emblem because the other srpgs I've tried do the whole mixed phase system where speed determines when a unit goes, as opposed to FE's Player/Enemy dynamic, and the mixed system just feels way too slow for me to enjoy. Rondo of Swords is the best underrated gem in the genre.

A remake of FE6+FE7 would probably be one of the few instances where I would be fine with a bit of Eugenics Simulator to get the best Roy possible in the second half of the game that covers the events of Binding Blade.

With Awakening, the Child Units were optional, and the fact that they're there fighting alongside their parents despite being mostly grown, it makes sense within the context of the story, due to multiverse theory time travel bullshit being involved.

With a potential FE6+7 remake, it'd feel natural, because you're shifting focus to a new cast.

At the very least, nothing could ever be as clumsily implemented as Fates' fucking BABY DIMENSION.

Like... that's your excuse for Child Units fighting alongside their parents? The legally distinct Hyperbolic Time Chamber knockoff? Really?

Meh, Managed to clear it in 7 turns
You want to head south to clear out some of the units, as well as safely trigger Rhea's final form
The dumb AI will stay in place if they don't see juicy targets, and if you clear enough enemies there will be a blind spot right in the middle Rhea tile
Repeat a process of busting down the barrier tile with an assualt, and have Byleth/whomever rape the shit out of her until she's dead

Id say blue lions since the boss gets to attack twice and the mages all have snip spells that will kill in 2 turns.

>If they're doing an FE6 Echoes, I think they should include FE7 in it but only in parts and not the entire thing.
They gotta put in both games, the current demographic including me would absolutely eat up a dual generation game where your pairings determine your second army's class potential, stats and skills. I'm pretty sure you could trim a few chapters to make it two 20 chapter games if they must.

No
I like FE6 much more than FE7
I would rather not have to play FE7 just to set up units for FE6
That's like playing Lyn mode just to make Florina, Kent, and Sain good
Plus, only like 1/5th of the units are children of the FE7 cast, and there's two sets of siblings, and one that was already born during FE7
It's a stupid idea that wouldn't work

Klein is pretty decent with HM bonuses.

>Igrene is the guardian of the desert like her dad
>doesn't actually show up in the game's one and only desert map

How much does FE7's story tie in with FE6, other then the obvious charcter relations? Does Nergal's fuckery influence the plot/tidings of fe6?

Okay so now you want to diminish the quality of both FE6 and 7 just to have your stupid fucking baby game that wouldn't work at all without rewriting most of the FE6 cast to be children of the FE7 cast
Fuck you

A FE6+FE7 Echoes is never going to happen because ISIS will make more cash staggering the releases
Hell they staggered SD and FE12 instead of combining it like what FE3 did in the first place

Back to sprite graphics
I miss them so much

I miss the sprites on the overworld map, not so much for portraits though.

Would be cool as an alternate mode. Three Houses is seriously one of the ugliest first party switch games.

Did you know? The song used in the end credits of "Edge of Dawn" is sung in El's perspective given the japanese translation of it is "The Maiden of Hresvelg"?

That's an insult to genealogy.

Genealogy is a shit game though. Even as far as just narrative goes, Edelgard makes Arvis look like a pathetic faggot. Thracia is the only good thing produced from Jugdral

Attached: 1565662011907.png (1280x1109, 193K)

>'localisation' censors all of it and brings it back down to a T rating

There is no fe game worse than three houses. Fates only comes close.

That's a hot opinion user. I'm sorry you feel that way

>Roy gets nuked 1 shot by a mage because of pathetic Res
>Game Over
>Restart an entire chapter

Roy being shit is past the scale of being a simple meme.

3H style of narrative, setting and waifufaggotry but with the old school combat system plus better maps

FE7 was a prequel made after FE6 was done, so they had to try and make a story that was big and world threatening while also being completely unheard of since no one in 6 mentions it happening. The story in 7 is worsened by the fact that they have to be in secret the whole time, or else things in 6 wouldn't happen in the same way, and many characters wouldn't do what they did.

As far as FE6 is concerned, Nergal doesn't exist and there was never a conflict to begin with.

Is Thracia properly translated yet?

Yes. Look up project exile.

The black fang which is the main enemy of fe7 didnt even exist in fe6. Most fe7 characters didnt exist in 6 either and werent related to playable characters. You had a grand total of roy, marcus, lilina, clairine, merlinus, fir, klein, bartre, raigh, sofia, igrene, karel. Thats 12 characters, one of which is a convoy and 3 of which are not children of fe7 characters, so you get to have 8 children. Wow what a great connection, 8 children and the major villain of the sequel shows up like 2 times in fe7. They could realistically rewrite fe6 to include mentions of events of fe7 but it would be stupid compared to a solo release.

Dont put him in range of a mage that has like 20 attack if hes level 1 then retard

>the light has been restored now
Ehhh... as a diehard FE fan I'm too afraid to touch this game ever again because of all the menus and monastery slog that you can't even properly skip. The game is top-notch with combat and some characters but the actual story and all the paths mostly being skinswaps of each other map-wise aren't worth it at all. The story is overrated.

My biggest complaint is how low the replay value is. Im more inclined to replay an fe game with no route split that i just unlocked hard mode for than play through those stupid fucking 12 months at the start of every route when edelgards route has 3 unique maps and 1 map thats just stolen from golden deer another stolen from blue lions.

Literally the only good post in this garbage fire of a thread

feth was my first

where do I go from here? I've got a friend who says that feth is nice because it's less focused on waifu shit and more on gameplay but I'm unsure because he's rather... over the top about his vidya opinions.

I liked what I played a lot, and want to play more, but he says it's pretty different so I'm unsure what to play next.

path of radiance if you like the whole skills thing, something on the GBA if you don't

I'm in different to them. sometimes I liked (when they were mostly in my favor) but other times I didn't when some felt useless

If you liked supercanto and multiple promotions then fe10 is good. If you want more barebones gameplay and tons of soul then gba. If you want the best game in the entire series thats only flaw is that its not very challenging and has a slow endgame and is otherwise a masterpiece play fe8. If you want more unique combat and in depth mechanics play 3ds fe but be warned awakening is so full of rng it may burn you out. Fe9 has a good story and engaging dialogue between characters but i personally dont like the game and wouldnt reccomend it to a newcomer

>Best game
>FE8
>Telling someone to play Radiant Dawn before PoR
Jesus Christ user stop trying to sabotage this user

gotcha

thanks anons. I see that on the wiki they call multiple games multiple entry numbers? I'll just discount remakes yeah?

On story's sake alone I can't recommend someone play 10 without 9, you'd miss out on so fucking much on the best parts of 10 it's practically criminal. And while 8 is also my favorite I don't think it's flaws put it close to the best, sorry user but your post is a big heap of wrong and you should stop.

>FE8
>A masterpiece
I want to know what unironically makes a person think this. It's not even top 2 among the GBA games

Por is really truely boring gameplay wise imo. Fe10 did a lot to fix it and has a garbage story anyways so you dont need to play por beforehand.
The games that were remade were fe1 and 3 as fe 11 and 12 and then fe 2 became fe 15 or fe echoes

>Telling someone to play FE10 before FE9
>Shilling Sacred Stones as the best in the series
You need to exit this thread

>not even top two among three games total
user please, you could have just said it was the worst

10 has a shit story regardless

You think FE9 has boring gameplay but you're shilling FE8? user please. You can't be spreading your shit opinions to new fans of the series like that

the garbage parts are the parts without Ike and friends, so why tell someone to not play the game that sets up everything about Ike and friends? Why take away from the main good part of the story? This doesn't even take into account PoR being bad or boring to play, which it absolutely fucking isn't, and definitely not in comparison to 10.

>telling someone to play fe9
Fe9 is insanely slow and filled to the brink with bulky ass enemies and reinforcements. Clash, boulder mountain, bridge map, the one where ike gets the ragnel, and the prison chapter are some of the worst maps in the series. The game is as easy to break as fe8 just by feeding resources to titania and your other mounts. It wasnt a good game user.

>not just recommending cq and fe6
Jesus christ what an abhorent post

None of those maps are that bad. I don't know why your experience was so poor but calling them the worst maps in the series makes it sound like you haven't played many of the games. Are reinforcements supposed to be a bad thing? Titania slows down into the late game and while mounted units are still broken, nobody just breezes through the entire game like Seth. I FE8 and Birthright are the only games in the series where I actually feel like I could fall asleep because of how braindead they are.

Not the mention the FE9 narrative is miles above FE8 and most of the series to be honest even if it isn't ruined by FE10

Is ruined*

>titania falls off
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAGAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
man that was a good one dude. Anyways reinforcements arent bad but the reinforcements in por are fucking atrocious compared to other games in the series because they are so bulky and appear in enormous numbers. No one brought up birthright and seth isnt even as good as titania because titania gets sol, super canto, and forges. If you didnt find clash or the bridge map unplayable slow garbage im not sure you beat por.

i did, you are literally forced to recruit students from other houses to fill the support sheet and get 50% of the gaidens

>there are people in current year who still think por is good after mangs made his playthrough

>there are people in the current year that let literal whos tell them what games are good

I am on Yea Forums after all so I guess that's true but it's still strange.

mangs is a ignorant, every time he tries to act smart he gets btfo by based LTC chad mekkah

If you saw the gameplay you would realize how shit the game is but you can just keep being disingenuous and excusing it as eceleb bro.
Even mekkah thought the game was bad

I saw the gameplay when I fucking played it, and both times I thought it was good. But go ahead and let ecelebs tell you what to think if it's too hard to do on your own.

>RD S

Attached: 9hEjGj6.gif (350x350, 725K)

mekkah also thinks kaga is a genius and all his games are masterpieces

>”mekkah is a based ltc chad”
>mekkah thinks ur game was bad
>”MEKKAH IS A FUCKING RETARD ANYWAYS”
