i can't think of a single game from the last 5 years that did something truly new and innovative. if everything that's being made these days is "inspired by [game]" or a remaster / remake, or maybe a quick cashgrab featuring whatever fotm trend is popular at the moment, or just does things other games before it did, why make new games?
