he's a gamer and lives in a society

>most likely the final boss
>described by the devs as the best martial artist in the Tojo Clan in his era
>no matter how much they hype up the fight with him it will suck because it is stuck in a turn based game

I played Dragon Quest, I don't remember taking the top.
Actually the final dungeon goes down, and then the bottom floor is outside somehow.

Why is every main character a mutt now.

>most likely the final boss
Nope, final boss will be his harmless looking pencil pusher associate or something.

Also we got some more details about the system here, sounds like there's a bit more to it than straight Dragon Quest combat at least

>references DQ
>turn based
man I never thought Yakuza will make me excited again.
ever since 3 i felt pretty much nothing due to the copy paste nature of the franchise.
especially the combat was the most forgettable part that got boring way too quickly.

but this change makes me completely hype for this franchise again. only took em over 6 games to try something outside of ctrl+c/ctrl+v

go away acfag

Makes it seem like its gonna be pretty dynamic.
I can already see Paper Mario like mechanic, plus the enviromental stuff.

Same. Even though I wanted every entry. But this one has me legitimately looking forward to release day.

????

>japanese character and game studio
>americans still live rent-free in europoor's head

i get people care about the turn-based because its not been that before, but i dont see it as a problem. yakuzas were always basically JRPG's anyways this just cements it

Sounds kind of like the Chrono Trigger system cranked up to 11

It means Ichiban Kasuga will be a party member in the next mainline Dragon Quest game.

cringe

imagine being so buttmad and insecure about a change to a game that you have to reply to everyone liking it,
you're gonna be a very busy user

It's because people born in the 90's generally have an aversion to the words JRPG and turn based combat not know that in the original definition liking Yakuza makes you be biggest weaboo of them all.

Reminds me of the protagonist of the movie Go!
Love it.

Basically yeah. I mean, nobody really ever gave a shit about the combat in these games anyway. It was there as a background for the game's setting and story and that's about it. Just like any JRPG combat. So you're right with that.
It was not remarkable or interesting in any way.
I'm not saying that this is gonna be regarded differently in terms of impact for the game, but at least it is something different in a franchise that only reluctantly dared to try.

This line gave me a pretty good laugh. I really wonder how this game is gonna do.

dilate

>nobody really ever gave a shit about the combat
This. Holy shit this announcement has show just how many 0 babies have invaded this fanbase. These games have always been about looking for fun shit to do and the new games have been lacking in that regard. As long as they pack this game with a shitload of minigames we're good, hell the combat seems promising too seeing as how it looks like it will just be turn based heat actions.

Probably the same as the rest.
Just with a more likeable protag.

Don't get me wrong, I like Kiryu but for the most part he was too stoic and one dimensional. This guy already seems way more like an actual human being.

stop talking to yourself again
get help

How come they get to say dragon quest now? Shouldn't he be saying Arakure Quest?

Jesus, that one dude in the comment section really has a meltdown about the combat. Calling the franchise dead and all.

Why are people like this?

it's basically how all of Japan feels

Attached: faggot.png (1090x901, 80K)

Japan hardly buys these games anymore

What a damn shame

phones exist
doesn't prove jackshit
you talk to yourself in every thread

>phones exist
I thought phoneposting was blocked on here now

Japan loves turn based combat so I'm guessing you're wrong.

More than one person who has been a fan of the Yakuza franchise before 0 also exist. Maybe you should seek help for your paranoia.

they love dq
they think this is a joke

Attached: 1567153947916.png (1835x573, 116K)

okay ACfag

>no source
>cherry picked shitposts
Wonderful post user.
I remember when anons posted about Japan hating the new Persona, which was 3 at the time, or the new Fire Emblem.
Both franchises who went stronger than ever.

And in both cases it was just cherrypicked shitposts. But I'm not even giving your image the benefit of thinking half of these are real.

>franchise changes something
>nerds seethe
>real fans dont care
>brings new people to the franchise
>nerds seethe even more
>new style is way more successful than the old style
>nerds seethe forever and proclaim the franchise died with the last title that was in the old style
the cycle is back!

okay retard

I think its the radical jump for a numbered entry to become a full on turn based RPG, even though the Yakuza series has toyed with RPG elements in the past. I'm still worried about seeing how it pans out but I'm at least interested in giving it a shot.

>changes something

changes entire format/genre*

Nnnooooo they replaced my stale as fuck simple style over substance combat with something different that actually still allows the same level of flashy animations and interesting story and characters

This. Its literally just one guy itt freaking out and responding negative.

Everyone plays Yakuza for the setting and characters.
If you're really trying to say that the shitty and shallow arcade brawling was the and I quote "entire format" then you're the biggest retard on the planet.

Game was 99% story/characters and 1% combat. I played every single game and I couldn't even list the changes they made from game to game to the combat because it fundamentally kept being the same musou shit + items to throw around.

just when you thought it couldn't possibly get worse than 6

>Everyone

Oh, I didn't rralize you spoke for everyone on the planet. What a burden to bear.

Literally only one person on Yea Forums doesn't like the new combat and is samefagging. Everyone in Japan loves the change and so does everyone here aside from one mad faggot.

I mean it seems like there's so many real time aspects still there that I'm confused why they're making it turn-based in the first place
Also why didn't they just do this in Judgement instead?

>0 babies
I'm a 0 babby and I couldn't be happier about this change.

>Ryu Ga Gotoku
more like Dragon Quest Ga Gotoku

>rralize
Being retarded is probably more of a burden...

oh wow a typo
better fixate on it

Stop trying to push a stupid narrative to EOPs
Some like the change, some hate it, some are doubtful and want either more info/reviews/a demo/whatever, there's a spectrum of opinions that more or less mirrors the western fanbase

If you really played Ryu for anything but the story and setting then you're a moron.

>Also why didn't they just do this in Judgement instead?
A crime drama with turn based combat? I can see why they kept it for this one.
>that I'm confused why they're making it turn-based in the first place
I just applaud them for trying something at least. Combat became forgettable and stale after 2 and more of a nuisance than something to get into.

Reminder the gameplay looks less exciting than the April Fools, it already got downgraded

okay acfag

Whoops. Second part meant for

post positive nip feedback then
I'll wait

>ctrl+f
>acfag
>3 hits
What does he mean by this?

means you've been found out

see

Not him, but you haven't even proven that its not just made up shit.
I could literally make a post about positive comments now, snap it and then post it in the next thread.
That's how much that image is worth.

I'm waiting.

I get that its one or two guys ITT who are buttmad and spam but I don't get what he means by acfag

>the ability to kick a nearby object at an enemy from the dragon engine games can be used in the turn based combat
I see

>Not him, but

classic

Those are literally youtube comments user.
So its not something you should give anything on.

they're twitter comments

>[format] comments don't count if I disagree with them

oh ok

I'm still waiting for those positive comments you claim exist.

I see then. I thought as much though, but thanks for the clarification.

I actually thought its 2chan posts though but Youtube posts are similar enough in """"quality""""

stop talking to yourself

>Noooo everybody in Japan hates it! And if Japan hates it means its bad!
This is desperation in action. Sand running through your fingers.

>no new IP

gee wiz

>modern day JRPG with adults and you don't kill god at the end
fucking sold, demo when

>nooo the image you posted doesn't count and I've yet to post any positive feedback lmao

fucking neck yourself

Had this been a spin-off like Judgment, then I wouldn't mind. Wanting to change the mainline series' genre completely now, just when you started gaining traction globally, is pretty fucking stupid.

>localized title dropped the 7
Actual high IQ move in this case

It's not official.

I was interested in this series until I saw what a joke the combat was. Embarrassing garbage. How many of these games are there so far?

Nagoshi is a big fan of DQ. He specifically asked permission for it to be mentioned in y7.

16, with the one just announced being the 17th game created, although it's the 7th game chronologically

>no matter how much they hype up the fight with him it will suck because it is stuck in a turn based game
Are you purposely acting like the best part of boss fights in Yakuza games (the heat scenes and QTEs) won't be in this? Besides that, it's just
>mash square until the enemy decides to do their super armor move (usually fourth or fifth hit)
>dodge
>or keep mashing anyways
>go to the items menu for free and heal
>rinse and repeat

>Dislike the combat in Y6/Kiwami 2, but recognize that its a new engine and they're still getting the hang of it
>Combat in Judgement is pretty good, has a decent number of unique heat actions
>Have high hopes for Y7's combat
>Suddenly this
I really don't understand. What on earth would possess them to do this? I don't know a single person who enjoys Yakuza and doesn't care about the combat. This seems like such a universally bad move.

>hmm the combat is bad in this game, but they'll fix it in the next one!
>hmm the combat is bad in this game, but they'll fix it in the next one!
>hmm the combat is bad in this game, but they'll fix it in the next one!

Yakuzafags have stockholm syndrome or something. They're as bad as Sonic fans.

why yes, i always wanted my brawler game to turn into spreadsheets and menus

Yakuza 0 has a DQIII sidequest.

But he didn't say that?

Way to miss the point entirely, bud.
