In fact, as her crazy path, she's in her loli form as her natural state, only going into adult form in the heat of battle as a temporary appearance. So the "adult" path is Innocent, because her power is stable and her body is properly restored, rather than being forcibly mutated back by absorbing a beating from her fellow demons and converting that into power for herself.

It just got a major dungeon update and character rebalancing to make them more useful. Only one got worse, Rose.
I just tried it out again after a few years of not playing it and it's fun in short bursts because they hugely increased the drop rate of the fusion theory weapon so you can gear up easier. Not for the new region though.

Canonically she classes into Innocent, so Ciel's actually fine and is her battle butler.

It's pretty different, and she treats him as a friend, rather than a beast on a leash that he gets treated like while she's an Iblis. He also fully retains his personality and memories, rather than becoming a brain damaged killing machine. She shows concern and gets upset if he's injured.

I'll fill you in I guess. Long ago, the dungeons (about when Hamel was new) were only able to be partied for by manually gathering players. Combat power and item level did not exist, and you could bring some level 25 Chung to a level 60 dungeon if you had them join your party. Pets used to be difficult to raise, but also much cheaper. Secret Dungeons used to be endgame tier and only the best could do them consistently. +7 used to be a high enhancement level and events that gave accessories were prolific.
Henir used to be extremely easy because it was just the same bosses from the dungeons one after the other, eventually culminating in whatever the last boss of the time was (I remember when it was just Ran, from Hamel). Event dungeons were only available for the duration of the event itself, rather than the months after as they are now. Some events even gave out mounts and pets, I seem to have missed a recent one where they gave a pet cube though.
As LuCiel is rather new-ish, when there were less characters the rulers of PvE were Rena and Eve (CBS) and I never dabbled much in PvP. Ereda used to have people, and guilds were nebulous, without a guild base like now (and formerly, there was a multi-floor guild base). The town layouts were DRASTICALLY different. Altera's Ponggo settlement for example, had many different areas and pathways, but was simplified for ease of access now. Elder's bank used to be up the stairs, and the chief stood beside it. There was also a quest to unlock bank share, which is gone now. The shop was cash-only instead of allowing use of an ED shop like now, and B-slots (i.e. the second row of skills) were only available for cash, which used to be a huge peeve of the playerbase (now the B-slot is activated by default on all characters, formerly you could only use 4 skills at a time essentially unless you bought this).

Overall, while there have been mechanisms implemented that are irritating (combat power) the game has become much more player friendly than it used to be for a casual player. The de-facto weapon for most people, the one that drops from Add's Energy Fusion Theory, is much, much easier to get now, meaning it's far easier to gear yourself. Formerly it was so rare that they had to introduce an achievement to give you one if you did it 1000 times without getting it, but now I got 2, both within the space of less than 50 runs each, one for my main and a spare for my other TL99 character if I decide to use it. Enhancement rates were upped so it's MUCH easier to get to +8 now and amulets for it are less than 1/10th the price they were years ago, although consequentially it's not really enough for the high level dungeons if you want to speed clear. The player market has ED sinks now and costs of rare items like IBs have stabilized to be about 1/2 what they used to be.
Formerly, things were insane. While it's still expensive, it's also easier to make ED. However, there of course is content that's just nuts to even enter, and I don't see myself entering Rigomor any time soon with how exorbitant the requirements are. Hopefully they'll do what they did with Elrianode and Varnimyr and introduce a lower-required mode for players who just want to try them.

Anyway to sum it up in short, it used to be a very different game.

Well when I was mentioning Ciel's her battle butler, it's also something you could consider with her name. Her combined class is "Innocent" possibly just because she's changed as a person. Old Lu as a demoness was a violent, cruel being who essentially was so evil and monstrous that the citizens of a hidden settlement note that she's almost unrecognizable as Ishtar. Ishtar is probably calling back to her also being associated with war, but love as well now, indicating a change.

Huh, interesting. Reading this, it seemed much fun and more engaging in old days. I've managed to unlock diabla after 4 hours of gameplay merely and achieved level 45 with 1.5 Million ED and 7000+ Combat in a day. It was kind of underwhelming.

Well to elaborate, it was a LOT less friendly towards players who didn't at least cough up the cash for a B-slot. The content was balanced around staying in certain regions more (it cost more exp to level up, there were special regional gear sets that kind of sucked but were thematic, enhancement was harder and every enhancement item was level locked, etc.) but aside from being able to actually play the lower level dungeons with people and being able to get free bank share, it was just less convenient in the old days and a HELL of a lot more expensive. ED was difficult to come by, but things that needed it were hyperinflated in price by the community. Now you get a good chunk to start out with, you get good gear from quests (a +8 Heroic weapon with a +9 Heroic-only amulet to go with it).
Aside from having fun with early regions more, trust me, you probably would have dropped it rather quick with how it went back then. The game as a whole progressed at 1/100th the speed it does now. You'd spend an eon getting everything needed for basic matchups and dungeons, but when you got it, you'd already be going to the next area to replace it with more grindy and expensive gear. Now you get your fusion weapon and elrianode gear and you're set. By the way, in the old days unlocking a class change was pure agony because unlike now, the drops were all rare random drops. For example, now you might have a quest to collect 10 pcz of quest item for one of the job class quests. Good, now clear the thing it wants 10 times and you're gold. In the past, you may have had to clear that same enemy or dungeon upwards of 50 times to get the 10 drops. Sometimes, players could go 30 runs WITHOUT A SINGLE DROP. I remember having to collect 40 Moonstones for my Code Battle Seraph class quest and I was only getting 1 or 2 per run of the dungeon because they were so rare.
Trust me, at the very least the early game stuff is eons better now, aside from no players in towns there.

Eh, probably. This is the same game that pulled a "randomly sprinkle some German on that, it'll look cool" for a character.

It's more just because the game is generally geared around getting people up to the higher level regions because that's where the bulk of the game is. Essentially at lower levels you've basically just got 5 dungeons and Bethtera army (which is literally just the scrapped Bethma/Altera fields thrown together as a "dungeon") you can do until the next area, so progress was made to be faster. This is actually because of player feedback that was filled with tons of complaints about it being too damn slow, you had to run a long and bland dungeon like Altera Core dozens upon dozens of times to get to Feita, which just isn't fun. At the higher levels, you get access to all the secret dungeons, randomized Heroic dungeons that let you play lower level dungeons with an active party queue and good rewards (instead of it being all solo for the most part), all the special daily dungeons, and whatever general normal dungeons like El Tower Defense you'd repeat (which is much shorter and gives better prizes, particularly El Tears that all drop sealed now instead of Unique ones dropping unsealed). By the endgame you have 999 levels of resonance (essentially once you reach L99, there's a system after that to allow stat growth in selected areas, just pick All Skill Damage as a tip for you) to smush through anyway so getting those low levels out of the way faster is fine.

I played both it and this and I remember sitting there on the last day with my sister watching it shut down. I still have the Ancient Rexion pet on my Eve here from the event for it. getting to 99 is relatively quick but there's no challenge until like lvl 90+
and after lvl 99 the grinding for endgame stuff starts and that takes fucking forever because of the way combat power gatekeeps the endgame dungeons

The economy is somewhat better in general due to the introduction of ED sinks like the Fishing Rod and the ED shop.
Right now on the board there's a Queen Parrot IB Drone for Eve for 300 million, which is a far cry from the insane prices IB weapons used to be priced at. But there's also ones priced at 800m and above.
As for everything non-costume related

+7 and below are worthless now. +8 is only 30 to 45 million. +9 is about 320-350 million usually, and +10 amulets are about 2 billion. +11 is just as expensive as ever.

Elrianode gear is literally free and +9 ones are fairly cheap right now due to an event. Amethystine Prophecy, the armor after Elrianode's, is untradeable as far as I know, and Glaciem is relatively moderate in price.
Anything under these two sets is usually dirt cheap, particularly secret dungeon pieces. Henir is no longer a good source of gear.
Heroics are also cheap.
El Tears (for upgrading the Elrianode set) range from dirt cheap to hundreds of millions depending on their effect. For example, an "All Skill Damage+ [5%*Enhancement Level]" is 700m
>pets and mounts
Drastically went up in price, good luck getting any for less than 700 million ED. Average price is 1 billion for one due to Life Crystals and all pets that used to have them barring the basic ones being discontinued entirely. Mounts are about the same price as a pet for the most part since fossil readers were also discontinued and all mounts have to be bought at full price now.

El Shards are the same, SD materials are the same (but all condensed into Barrier Fragments now), most magic stones and special magic stones are the same. Mystic Stones vary but Giant ones tend to fetch large prices.

Unique Force skills (i.e. replaced skill notes sort of) are extraordinarily expensive but only 3 are worth using for the most part (Head Hunter, Eroding Energy, and Get Greedy). Poses and motions are about the same price as they were years ago.

Oh yeah I've had that happen before, multiple times. Sometimes the bastard blocks the bridge and I have to use Eve's mobility to get by him. I still have my full set of old Darkened Wyvern gear I ground my ass off for, even though the only one I use any more is the wings.

I just did the 30 Spatio Reapers with story mode El Tower Defense, it takes like 10 runs, really not a huge deal. Infinitely easier than the old way when the drops were random, it took me 50 runs in Feita just for my second class back then.

No one even uses AP gear because spectral amethyst takes too long to stack up and they already have highly enhanced Elrianode gear at this point with optimal El Tears. It's just not worth the time to do the AP gear for the most part even with the bonuses and adaptability it grants, especially with the whole refine durability thing. Just stick with Elrianode armor and a DoSI accessory set.

You don't need a +9 or even a +8 for the third class change quests. The story mode version of ETD counts and doesn't even need tickets to enter, and all the enemies are less than 1/3rd strength.

Elrianode City alone you can literally kill the bare minimum with your +9 Heroic weapon while staying alive and the kills racked up by your fellow party members will count towards the quest, I just did it last week for Eve

About 15k is from the Reboot title.
15k is from sticking "Recovery Item Effect +% accessories on my pet (vary in price but usually fairly cheap), which is the only one that affects combat power for some reason
Everything is Sage-stone-socketed, including the costume, with the old wedges I got from raids years ago giving the Elrianode armor and the weapon an extra socket (you'd have to run heroics now to get them but the armor slot wedges are reasonably priced usually, just not the weapon one)
5 red disks (should replace the shit add damage one but eh) and the stage 3 blue disk
one Mag attack ID on it, was lucky and didn't want to retry the ID for two MA IDs
Corrupted DME as support unit (covered with a Dicetium examiner because of the ugly look) and the anniversary El Turbine set on the rest, with my old Wyvern wings and some Ain "Gaping Tear in Time and Space" accessory as the bottom one. Brave skill ring gives a huge boost compared to the others. Warrior's Chronicle as weapon accessory, ASD as all my resonance points, ERL 73

If it's Unique or Legend level it should still be adequate. Both the Eltrion MK2 and the Drabaki weapons are still used by some players if at a similar enhancement level as a typical apocalypse weapon.

Make sure to get the Dungeon Master title and whatever Henir Challenge titles exist still over ther before it gets the revamp because holy fuck is it hard after the revamp. No deaths allowed, only the default potions they give you (only 10 of each as well) and you have to fight the fucking Dark Agate on the third stage, who is ridiculously hard to solo.

Is Elsword fun to get into now? Never played it but I like playing random Korean MMOs even if they're kinda garbage sometimes.

Eh you just missed a huge special event for new players but yeah it's a lot more friendly to new players than it was a couple years ago. A lot less bullshit quest RNG, a bunch more free stuff, etc. Endgame gear is way easier to get, the only gate now is enhancement level.
Do be aware that one specific character (Laby) has a vastly different story dungeon campaign than all the others, as her areas are unique to her.

It's rare but enjoyable when it happens.

Don't worry it's mostly just to equalize classes. Some gain up to 30k power, others only get 15k. Rose gets a slap

The vast majority of the game's issues have pretty much been dealt with outside of a few, most notably the combat power you mentioned and the weird reset or unequip restrictions they tend to have (e.g. removing things from MW). Oh and lack of a bankshare quest.
Aside from those, the thing I'd do is just to make combat power less of a huge thing (make it so undergeared people can at least try to see how fucked they are instead of blocking them entirely, just bring back the room menu) as well as lessening the demon realm debuff, 60% stat debuff is just too much.

So many fucking classes that I tend to die from option paralysis and never pick something.

The only notable part was the final reward since it's a good weapon at a high enhancement level. The other prizes were all either just the rewards of skill quests or random items that were temporary (i.e. they only last for a time then are deleted). The big issue with it was that you'll be basically broke compared to someone who played normally because it disabled all story quests for the event created characters, which give you a lot of money.
Pick one character, they only have 3 options each except for Rose, who has 4 because she's the female gunner from DFO. It does show you what they're focused towards. Almost all of them focus on either magic or physical, the only hybrid I know of is Code: Essencia.
It's 2.5D I think? 3D graphics but the gameplay takes place on a mostly 2D plane, except for homing projectiles.

Any actual elsword anons lurking here that play the game? I'm on NA and I wouldn't mind helping out other anons with the grind and maybe make friends.

Yeah I have the game open right here, my only properly leveled characters are Eve (my main) and a LuCiel. Nothing really to grind though, unless you want to tag along while I smush 10 minibosses from Elysion Tower for an old skill quest I neglected for Eve.
