huh

I've never seen Dalton's art, I always assumed he was a fabio looking pretty boy

The new quests and retcons in the DS port were so fucking stupid.

Is it true that Robo shows up in Cross only to die instantly?

>you defeat Zeal and Lavos, the strongest known beings
>you die to a guy you easily defeated before

CT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> CC
Anyone who disagrees is baiting.

Kato can't actually write and all his good games are co-written.

Yes, but the ending retcons the event that lead to it so he's technically alive.

Dalton probably held the citizens captive and demanded crono and marle's head in exchange for their safety

Crono being dead in Cross isn't confirmed, only the kingdom's fall.

I'm pretty sure Crono was killed onscreen by Lavos.

Not even wrong, only decent thing he wrote by himself is Baten Kaitos.

Dalton has Golems bro, don't fuck with him.

EoG Crono >= Lavos > Zeal > Early Magus > Dalton > Golems
This is the same as ff7 Zack being killed by shinra soldiers.

Cross was a mistake

He's somehow able to capture your team twice with cutscene power.

>no time to give Guile - the only returning party member and overall important motherfucker - development
>but plenty of time for a clown skeleton, a talking flower, and bunny girl

Apparently when CC was being made he was originally going to Magus, then at some point they decided he wasn't going to be and then ended up retconning that in CT DS,

The more Cross tried to establish itself in Trigger's continuity, the worse it got.

It was a good game, just a bad sequel. Didn't help that 90% of the plot was given to you as an infodump right before you fight the last boss.

>During the planning stages of Chrono Cross, Guile was intended to be Magus in disguise, accompanying Serge to learn the true fate of his sister Schala.
>This would have paralleled his role in Radical Dreamers as the mysterious magician Gil. However, as more and more characters were added to the game, the developers felt that it would have been too difficult to represent Magus' story well amongst the sea of other characters.
Cross truly sounds like a quantity over quality game.

He's an Escape from New York motherfucker.

I mean, even as a game it fails to live up to Trigger. It lacks the fast pace and fluidity of Trigger thanks to load times, sub-30 fps frame rates, and other PS1 jank. There's also the problem of having a large cast juxtaposed with a dirt-simple magic system that makes most of the characters feel even mechanically insignificant.

It's safe to say he was grinding away while in the void.

We never actually if Crono or Marle die or just if they went into hiding. Lucca and Robo are the only confirmed murders. Frog and Ayla went back home and died of old age and Magus got cut from Cross's plot at the last minute so who knows.

There's like 40 party members and only one has any characterization. Serge somehow has less personality then Crono.

chrono cross is NOT CANON
chrono cross is NOT CANON!

If only they'd remaster Cross with the Magus shit restored.

I'm actually surprised Cross never got a port to the PSP or Vita,

Cross and all remakes are non-canon.

Technically Cross isn't canon since every that happened got wiped out of existence during the true ending, or something.

>Guys we can't tell a story if we keep adding characters.
>...
>LET'S KEEP ADDING CHARACTERS.
What a ""good"" game.

>40 party members
And you can only use 3 of them at a time and only the ones you actually use in battles level up?
What the fuck were they thinking?

The director is a retard and Cross has none of the talent that made Trigger what it was, aside from Mitsuda.

Why do you assume that they were thinking?

Which is the most like a Trigger successor: DQ6, DQ7, DQ8, or DQ11?
I vote 11.

The ONLY reason anyone even remembers Cross is because of the OST. Without it, this shit game would have been even more of a footnote than it already is.

I guess I should've asked "why weren't they thinking?".
I'm absolutely baffled, even FFVI wasn't that bad because there was at least some kind of reason to have 14 (or just 12) party members.

>tfw a fan remix gives more character to a party member than the game does.

Everybody in FF6 except for Mog, Umaro and Gogo had at least some character development, although in some cases they were optional scenes.
