Ashe was easily my MVP in the last few stages of BL - I was really surprised so many people found him useless but I might've gotten RNG blessed.
Conversely I see a lot of people praising Ingrid and while she started strong she couldn't keep up at all.

Wyvern Lord is just a good class in general, but for Ig specifically it should help get his str growth up. I had him as Assassin and while he got crits pretty often, he finished the game at lvl 45 with 20 strength, so when he wasn't critting he was doing shitty chip damage when everyone else was close to , if not straight up one-rounding.

Assassin, mine is at 33 dex and 31 speed at level 26, give him a critical ring and a killing edge and he'll PAINT YOU A PICTURE every time he swings

Recruitable students have very little importance when they aren't recruited, at most they'll have a line of dialogue for when they are attacked, one when they fight Byleth, and a death quote. The main lord they fight for will usually say something like "thank you for your service" or "I'm sorry I couldn't save you" or whatever. Nothing special is missed.

BE is the only route where you can split off from Edgelgard and her house has zero problems siding with you on the matter. Even their monastery comments tell you they're glad they're on your side, that none of them were really close with El, and even the Empire being completely abolished and El's death doesn't faze them as much. Contrast this with BLs, where Felix, Ingrid, and even Slyvain's all want Edelgard's head for killing Dimitri, despite being insane, so their king can rest in peace.

A lot of characters wonder why crests are so important to the nobility, and what advantages a crest really has, since they only take effect during battle. One point that's brought up is that houses that neighbor adjacent countries, like Almayra, highly value a crest due to needing to fight off invaders regularly, so their leader having a crest is greatly beneficial.

The church clearly wants Fodlan to remain isolated, and an easy way to do that is not allow those from other nations in without very special circumstances. Keeping the belief that houses on the borders need their crests to fight anyone who wants to come in is a good way of keeping your country isolated, while also keeping crests in the noble lineage, isn't it.

And keep in mind the only instances of non-Fodlan people we see are heavily devoted to someone, and rarely talk about their homeland at all.

The only people in BE I can see siding with Edelgard is Dorothea and Hubert and will miss her if she dies. All the rest are either neutral or downright hostile to their own House leader. It's kind of sad. But then I realize it's Edelgard, and her distrust of others brought this problem on herself and has no one else to blame for it.

I feel like femByleth's design kind of betrays the solemn emotionless character that Byleth is supposed to have at the start of the game. Byleth was said to be essentially a mindless robot that just worked as a mercenary and did nothing else before the start of the game when Sothis wakes up. And male Byleth shows this really well. His default expression is completely neutral and he seems very reserved. And later on, when he starts to emote more, it feels like genuine progress.
However, female Byleth never gives this feeling. Her default face seems rather happy in comparison. And when you see her first smile it doesn't have the same weight as male Byleth's did.
Not to mention how silly her outfit is compared to the male one (not because revealing outfits are inherently bad, it just doesn't feel like something a previously emotionless character would wear).

Sylvain and Lorenz can be decent in the Dark Mage line. They're tanky enough to utilize Heartseeker without having to worry to much about them getting melted on Enemy Phase, they're slow enough that they can occasionally get use out of Poison Strike when they can't kill, and Lifetaker allows them to off-tank as Dark Knights and then heal themselves back up on the next turn.
