Warframe's come a long way since its beta, and the gameplay itself is pretty excellent. The story is decent (though it's more found lore than a narrative-driven story) and the warframes/weapons are rad. Good graphics, good sound, good BGM. It has a decent free-to-play model too in that everything that matters can be acquired from playing/trading, and microtransactions are merely time-savers.
Just don't be surprised to see how reddit the developers and community are. This is the internet in 2019 after all, surely you didn't expect anything different.

Great core gameplay loop. Holds up as long as you're enjoying the moment-to-moment combat, which can be quite a while.
Fun game to play on and off over a long period of time like an MMO, but with no subscription fees. Just lost its appeal with time for me, but I had over a thousand hours across like 5 years. No complaints, but not something I'd hold up as god-tier.

You don't, but devs have to consider rivens when making new content. It's the same with f2p games, some might be good on its own, but some aspects of the game will be made specifically for micro transactions. Thus dragging the whole game down.

Enemies can still be killed in one hit, enemies are still dumb, maps don't take the player movement into consideration, maps don't have any variation, enemies don't have a moveset close to the player, enemies can't out skill the player in combat.
Warframe is just a boring grind.
