Like I get that online games can "play out differently" in the sense of fighting other players but still, take any fps and it's mostly just running around the same maps for 10-20 min at a time rinsing and repeating, trying to stay on top. A good 20+ hour single player game breaks things up with character beats, new mechanics, stealth bits, heavy action, vehicle parts. There's so much more variety to the gameplay. If I go play 6 hours of cod and just do tdm or s&d it's always just going to be the same stuff of people pew pewing each other. Can also read into single player games, character stuff, all the great music, all that detail on scenes that only get shown once in hours of gameplay.

Granted that not all multiplayer games offer serious depth that allow you to appreciate how new every match is, but the idea that a 60-hour single player game won't get old before a great multiplayer game is insane

Idk, i play mostly online shit cuz that's what my friends play, do better than them at most fps games. 2.0kd type of player in bf, cod, cs. I just feel like it gets boring. Tried dota and sure there's a bunch of character combinations to mix and fight with but it's all so basic. I replay games a lot too, when people talk about replay value it always seems like they mean unlocks or outfits or new gear but isn't the value of gaming what you get out of it as far as enjoyment just as important. I can replay some linear game like dead space 30 times over since it's release but I sink 50 hours or 100 hours into a game like battlefield and I'm falling asleep killing 50 people in a conquest game.

I see so many players online doing the same shit though, learn meta and copy and paste what they think is best. I played about 8 hours of battlefield last night and the majority of the time players are just zerging stuff and being easy targets, sometimes even acting more braindead than a AI and with worse aim.
