For the most part he was an inside joke about VN players saving and loading to go through every route in a game and then picking their favorite once they were done.
Because of that, and this was established during the pre-Fate era of Type-Moon and continues with post-fate, everything is canon. Every bad end, every normal end, every novel, every manga, every true end, they all happen in one world line.
Like, Fate Strange Fake, the really good novel series, takes place in the School Life manga canon. Zelretch is watching it through Ayaka. In FGO Zelretch tells the player that he can't spoil the end, because if he looks too far into the future then the fate of the world line will be observed and they'll be forced to end that way.

The awful Takeuchi designs were revealed in 2015 while talk of a remake stretches back to 2008. Face it user, it's dead and that's probably a good thing considering the awful design changes Takeuchi was making.

FGO didn't go into production until late 2013. The Extra PSP games went into production in late 2008 and released in 2010.

Other than the very dated art, Tsukihime only has 10 songs overall so it got very tedious to listen to at least for me. There's also no voice acting so a remake would hopefully have some. Plus there's the chance for some extended scenarios like Satsuki's route.

That's a good point but the remake getting out is more of a matter of principle at this point I think. Why even announce it in the first place then? If they don't plan on working on it anymore or if it got cancelled, they could at least say it. Also, as much as I like Tsukihime, you have to admit that many of the game's aspects can be crude and rough at times. Those could be vastly improved in a remake and there's also Satsuki's route.
I'm not sure how many people share this sentiment of mine but I feel as if Typemoon has lost its "soul" (terrible word to use, I know) or whatever and only care about making money milking the Fate franchise. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's just so frustrating. They have such a cool universe to be explored and developed and they have the talent and the money to keep making some cool ass shit but they just won't. As a fan, it's kind of heartbreaking. I want them to get that remake out and prove me wrong, but I know it probably won't happen.

Well for starters, the remake has at least one completely brand new character that was never in any Tsukihime-related media up to this point: a substitute teacher named Noel. Additionally, they also revealed art showing a heavily expanded Misaki Town, as well as greatly expanding the Tohno Mansion. Nasu also stated in an interview that he originally wanted the release of Tsukihime to coincide with a certain revelation in Fate/Grand Order back during Part 1, but it never happened.

That's not actually how it happened. In the Fate/stay night timeline, Marisbury never joined the Holy Grail War because he learned that the grail was corrupted. In the Fate/Grand Order timeline, the 2004 Holy Grail War was the FIRST Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City in that timeline. There weren't four previous wars. He joined and won.

Every few months I have this moment of renewed appreciation for Saber as a character. I'm reminded of some aspect of her that makes her so utterly endearing, or just reminded of how much she means to me.

Because players are extremely sensitive and casual and when you are creating a game or visual novel, you always have to offer a "safe" way for them to play and feel good.
Generally games keep an easy path for the player but offer extra side challenges. This ensures the interest of a wider audience.
In the case of Visual Novels, you have the "main" girl who doesn't have a very defined personality (which decreases the chances of someone being disgusted with her) but also the extra girls where the real shit happens.

UBW is indeed better than Fate in terms of quality of the route but UBW isn't even Rin's route to start with. At least Saber HAS a route. UBW is Archer's route, Rin's "romance" is a literal joke tacked on barely to make the players who were horny for Rin in Fate happy.
