It's still active but the learning curve is wacky since so much has been added since launch. There's a free weekend going on right now I believe and as some one with 1k hours in this fucking game I strongly recommend you try before you buy

every game has glitches with new content, siege has significantly fewer glitches than it used to especially since they've been overhauling parts of the netcode and engine that were causing them.

they're all still fairly strong. smoke is getting a rework soon to make his gadget more consistent. mute is much more useful than he used to be. blitz is getting nerfs and ubis not really sure what to do with glaz after they nerfed him so he's getting frag grenades next season.

in fact, I disagree. the constant fucking tweaking in the past two years + the bloat of shitty operators has made the game dull. fuck esports for producing whiny cunts who make the game boring due to the smallest of nit picks.
It's not about getting shot through walls or people sneaking up on you, it's the pixel peeks around corners and windows and certain places in maps that are going to dumpster you more than anything.

I'll agree that most of the recent operators have been meh. The 2 new ones seem odd, grappling hook and exploding shields. Its still one of the better FPS out there currently though imo.

Not really, for the most part you still just try to point and click at heads, no matter what the operator is.
Biggest learning curve has more to do with how the destruction does and does not work, map layouts, what to busy yourself with during prep phase, listening, scouting, and knowing what maneuvers get you domed 9 times out of 10, rather than knowing what all the ops do.
In terms of ops, it can seem a bit overwhelming initially, but design wise the team has been forced into a bit of a corner, so new ops are increasingly niche and/or purely combat oriented. For the most part, only the base ops and the Year 1s really change how you approach an objective or think about defending it.
Dude with two invisible spotting cams which teammates can use that also deny plants and make people drunk for 8 seconds on an operator with two primary weapons, one of which is just an innately silenced version of the GIGN SMG (except it does more damage for some reason) who is also immune to the enemy Korean bitch's global ability that reveals every defender's position simultaneously with the press a single button. This immunity doesn't matter because he's getting repeatedly pinged for the entire enemy team to see by some Spaniard who punishes people for ever being outside of the objective. Thankfully the Spaniard's teammate, who forces the entire enemy team to stand completely still in a game where headshots kill in one hit, was just stopped in his tracks by one of 6 tiny invisible mines on the map that prevent you from doing any actions and deal a DOT unless you put yourself into a vulnerable animation to take it out, and was subsequently killed because the Chinaman who throws these mines has a fantastic gun and can see exactly which mine was triggered; an ability that no other trap operator has. It doesn't ultimately matter because somebody playing a skeleton chick who has a 1200RPM gun with no recoil will carry the round by rapidly manipulating their hitbox via lean and crouch spam (which has no accuracy penalty) and spraying down everyone while huffing adderall.

They nerfed how long you're drunk for and calling the bearing a second primary after the recoil nerf is pushing it. I'd much rather choose maestro if you're just looking at guns especially since he can see through smoke while echo can't so if you don't have a jager you're not gonna stop the plant.

This one is true, although there is the point to be made that he has the lowest winrate of any attacker last time I checked so it's hard to nerf him. I expect ubi will probably rework him at some point.

Doesn't get 6 mines until very late into the round. Easy to spot if you drone first. If he's playing aggressively with them and dies he wasted his utility.

I would rather they give the ability to view your gadgets to the other operators. One could lose track of where their Gu Mines have been placed and double up or miss a choke point if you remove being able to see their icon.
