I can play Tyrian, F-Zero X, Doom, Quake, Red Alert and many other games just fine despite either not being born or only being a few years old at their release.

Those games are miles better than OoT and don't feel like clunky, dated garbage compared to their successors. Yoshi's Island still hasn't been topped in its own series, SMB3 is still one of the best platformers ever made. Everything OoT ever accomplished was improved upon tremendously by later titles.

I have never played a single Zelda game and have no plans to play one in the future.

I played it when I was 11 and thought it was worse than alttp. I liked it but I never understood why all the newcomers who played it as their first Zelda loved it so much. I liked Majora Mask more than OoT as well but OoT was the one everything thought was amazing.

I played Majora's Mask first and found the world in Ocarina of Time less engaging and couldn't get into it as much. I usually prefer spooky over non-spooky though and don't like Zelda dungeons all that much.
Both are fine games, but these are my reasons for subjectively enjoying MM more.
