Most people who play Metroid for the first time don't know what Samus looks like until the end screen. It isn't on the cover of almost all of her games and they continued the tradition of not showing her with her armor off all the way through until the turd known as Other M was born. Even Fusion, which has an intro scene where Samus underwent surgery, didn't show Samus's face until the end screen.

Because with that kind of production values, it's easy to make attractive looking characters. With AAA full performance capture rigged photorealistic characters that's hard. Sure you could just scan a face, but when you apply the animation deformations that could just ruin the face for 99% of scenes because every expression is a deformation and only the original rest-mode face scanned from an attractive face ends up being as attractive as that face. When you don't have an animation budget of 50 million, you either have to compromise on your production values or get sub-optimal results. Apparently Remedy took the latter route like they always do. Because faggots keep insisting on better graphics without the slightest intention of paying extra for a literally more valuable product.

Well, first of all it's not a unique idea. Secondly heroes are generally not proud and arrogant, and finally unattractive characters, male or female, are always going to have a harder time convincing audiences and being seen as a hero because a large part of what a hero is to people is just a better version of themselves and because of how much we value attractiveness in general. Male characters probably more so than female ones, honestly.

But to answer your question, they could just shut their fucking mouths and let the art speak for itself. As long as the writing isn't too disingenuous or political people will generally accept it for what it is. And in this particular game's case they could have not done the whole "men are excluded from this launch celebration, because that's equality!" bullshit they did. That would have been a good start.

It's Remedy's weakest game yet everyone was blaming at Microsoft's interference

I actually liked Quantum Break more than Alan Wake.
While Alan Wake was more of a story telling thriller, the gameplay sucked ass where I think Remedy make great gameplay.
Quantum Break had all the time powers you acquire throughout the game which I thought was fun.
Better than shining a flashlight into an enemy's face for the entire game.
Control's powers are fun as well and makes progressing fun when you discover new altered items.

I'd argue Quantum Break has better gunplay than Control, Control feels bad to shoot in for some reason. Its probably partly due to the reloading mechanic, only 2 weapon forms at once, and the god awful accuracy with hipfire. In Control, I just enter rooms and throw shit at people.
