Same. All the AAA is just so fucking generic and boring, with such limited scope. I especially hate the games where you have to rev up for a gigantic story, like you're going to watch a 5 season television series starting at episode one. My eyes just glaze the fuck over.
Indy games just go for a niche instead of trying to appeal to as wide of an audience as possible, and are stripped of almost all cinematic shit. They feel like actual games.

I miss arcade racers. It seems these days a racing game can o YL succeed if it’s either a baby kart game or an intense simulation. Forza Horizon kind of skirts the line a bit, but I would like more racing games in the middle ground

I can relate. Everything else is just a walking sim with hurr graphics!!!! they try to be so edgy and serious and adult but it's just pathetic and cringe.
Nintendo is all about game play. Having said that I shit on Xenoblade with its awful pacing, zero game play and too much text and fuck fire emblem, I don't care.
Right now I enjoy Ion Fury because back in the day games where still fun. Used to love FPS but COD or whatever ruined the genre.
