I rerolled for a bit and got Phoebe on my first pull. Saving the rest of my gems for the ~40k gems needed to just get a guranteed pull on a banner with something I actually want.

I do eventually want to get Will, but I like the freebie units enough that I'll get by without him.

Just do single pulls. There is no rate up with a 10 pull and the guaranteed is paid.

It's definitely stingy with currency, but the rates for 5* are pretty good. It makes rerolling easier.

Free units are also a lot better than FEH initially.

Most gatcha games give you a free 10 roll after the tutorial. This game gives you nothing. Current event gives you 4 free rolls. You also have to play through like 20+ chapters of the game to get a free 10 roll which is ridiculous.

Sorry, no fun allowed. You can only roll for gym leaders and elite four members. Random trainers with neat models do show up for you to chat with occasionally, but you can't get any of them.

Well, it's a lot more boring than FEH so there is that. I don't think there's a good reason to play it. The battles are slightly better than they appear but not really good. And there isn't much of a point unless you like the pretty trainer models.

I think at Chapter 4 you unlock an extra training ground mission, it should be at the very bottom of the list. Do that and you unlock level uncaps.
It's weird that the game only barely mentions it in passing and leaves you to figure out how to actually activate it. Whatever, Korrina at level 75 fucking destroys everything.

You can just save up and eventually get enough to force a spark with her. You'll want 5 copies anyways so there's little since in not saving. We don't know how banners work in this game so she might have a rate-up at some point.

you can access them during your very first or second battle iirc. Just hit the gear icon in the upper left when it becomes solid to skip battle animations.text cant be skipped until it shows up in a cutscene. also look out for the battle speed icon in the upper right during your fights

along the way, around chapter 4 i spent all the gems I've gathered up until that point for a 8 roll and the outcome was pretty good (I probably would have erased my save if I didn't land any 5 stars, thankfully that didn't happen)

You need to +5 trainers in order to max out their cutscene attacks, so you might as well reroll to ensure you get Hilda before dumping the money into the game for more copies.

Other than design, I never understood how gym leaders ever got popular. They have like 10 lines of dialogue, not enough to push any kind of personality or anything to make them your waifus and are only remembered because they are cute/hot and fanart/hentai keep them semi-relevant. I am glad gacha shit pulled the designs from the poke vault and they are actually doing something with them, at least waifuing over them now seems to make more sense...also new 3d models to improve on by porn animators
