Eggman is an absolute legend, one of the most recognized villains in all of vidya, only second to Bowser. More iconic than even 90% of the existing Smash roster. An inclusion that would send shockwaves through the gaming community and he fits in as perfectly as a missing puzzle piece. Going to be played by Jim Carrey himself in theaters and represents the up and coming Classic Sonic line SEGA is eager to advertise for after Mania was a hit. Truly a character worth requesting above all others.

Tails wouldn't be allowed because SEGA wants him to be strictly a tech guy. If he was in, his moveset in smash would revolve around his Miles Electric and other gadgets, maybe from Sonic Battle and Tails Adventure, and maybe have his SA2 mech for his final smash.
