There's an elite wolf in Shadowfang Keep called the Slavering Worg, level 18-19. It has a 1.20 attack speed which is the second fastest tier, on par with the Rake's, and as a Wolf gives you a much more useful pet ability in Furious Howl.

On that note, you also have to look up what pets know what ranks of what moves if you want to kit yours out in the best ranks for everything (keep in mind these extra ranks will also use your pet ability points, but they're well worth it). To 'learn' those moves you have to catch an animal with it, then have them spam the ability until it shows up in your spellbook (you'll get a message).

yep, been playing a Paladin in WoW since WotLK - Legion (took a short break during Cata). Not interested in any other class thematically, and Classic is basically a "no Paladins allowed" zone (unless you want to be a discount priest and wear a blue dress as a BiS item). Really sucks, just shows how important the BC changes were to class design. Doubt the boomer warrior mains would ever vote to bring in a minor balance patch to fix Paladins either so looks like Classic just isn't for me lol.

There's a dynamic spawn based on the number of players in the zone but it should decrease rapidly as soon as you get out of the starter areas.

yeah, but that was blizzard's plan. Thats why shamans's rock biter enchant gives high threat, as does earth shock. But it never really worked out and blizzard never bothered to fix it.

There are a bunch of unfinished threads that they've worked away over the years. hunters having some kind of melee shit with survival talents, druids having hybrid builds where they switch between forms in fights, with talents in resto and balance benefitting a feral druid. Priests having a holy damage build with some discipline (discipline force of will talent).

I think its pretty sad blizzard cut those to make it easier to manage (not having to balance both holy/disc and shadow priest DPS at the same time).

I would do them once just to get all the quests for them completed.

Well there was, or at least, blizzard balanced towards making each spec its own thing. Weird stuff like improved fade in the shadow tree were just weird things that happen when you design a game RPG first, not logic first.

enchantment has the block skill, parry, a bunch of stuff that improved tanking totems and weapon upgrades, etc. I dont think blizzard ended up wanting shamans to tank, but they left stuff in there that indicates that they might've wanted that. In the same vein the holy tree of the paladin has divine strength, improved seal of righteousness (your first seal), concecrate, and holy shock that all were offensive. But later they kinda backpedled and never built on it. A shame I'd say.

I wish they made the druid transformations change your stats, like int->agi for cat form. That way you could be useful as caster and feral at the same time

all zones are short on quests. You will end up missing a few levels. So make sure you kill random mobs as well, or travel to other zones of the same level. I did the lvl 20 quests in ashenvale, carrying me to lvl 21, and the next set of quests are lvl 24

bears already have a taunt (growl) but they cannot block or parry, which makes them nearly impossible to be uncrushable.

they wanted paladins and shamans to be able to tank, also they tried it with druids. The problem is they didnt know what they were doing, so warriors are just so much better at it. Meaning that you either make raid content difficult for warrior (and impossbile for palas) or make them doable for palas and easy for warriorrs.

and by the time wrath hit paladins were better tanks at some points.

Bears can taunt and are viable tanks even for raids, and for that matter outscale Warriors until they get their Tier 2 on the Alliance thanks to Night Elf dodge. It's actually beneficial to bring them because besides capes and jewelry they don't share loot with your other tanks, and the feral tanking gear is incredibly bad for anyone who isn't doing it, and as such everyone gears faster.

Pretty awful, a lot of Warrior threat is baked in values to their abilities, not based off their actual damage output, and their most spammed threat skill (Sunder Armor) does literally no damage. They don't have any particularly strong abilities like Block value+armor pen-scaling Shield Slams or Devastate, Revenge is not bad though but also flat value. And that's just while they're the boss's focus which gives them essentially unlimited rage to blow through, if they're hitting something that someone else is tanking they would probably do less damage than your Priest wanding. This is why in retrospect Fury is often prefered.

the game has plenty of dead points. Im still at an early level and already the game is starting to feel a bit wonky, like running out of quests early, or having quests with a huge level spread, sending me over the world at random, and other stuff which requires me to stare at my character's ass for hours. The combat is really simple as well. But for some reason it just clicks in a way other MMOs dont.

With the new meta from private servers where warriors past BWL will dual wield and chug armor potions... they do ok on damage meters. Better than paladins, druids and shamans. Might even top shadow priests.

Anyone who has played Druid can tell you they're not as good as specialist classes. You play them because they're flexible, fun, great at leveling and also good at pre-raid content. The "druids can top meters and main tank" meme only started because some theory crafting idiots on undertuned private servers managed to do okay with them. Anyone who actually mained druid in classic, including the best players of the class, aren't going to act like their class is worth taking over any other's besides tanking. But the problem with balancing is that you have happen what happened with retail. Mages have multiple disengage skills, but warlocks not? Lets give them a portal ability. I think at this point the developers built the game with the QOL functions in mind. They dont think were to put hte dungeon entrance, or how close mobs are to prevent multiple mobs from getting pulled.

I already did the low lvl quests of ashenvale, wetlands doesnt really have a good place to grind up, redridge seems too low level, stonetalon mountains is crawling with horde and the 1 quest I found was too high level.

WoW Quest design was based around the world being fun to walk around in. 15 years ago it was still passable graphics and mmo new enough it was a trip.

So the quests are all spread around and exploration based.

westfall is more 10-20 but there might be a quest or two you could do. definitely do duskwood though. it's in your level range and has some great quests and atmosphere.

also just a tip if anyone is doing the raven hill quests in duskwood it's both faster and safer to fly to sentinel hill in westfall and run to it from there instead of running along the road from darkshire.

running through ashenvale, surviving the barrens hoping no horde would attack me, swimming to theramore, going to menetil harbor, walking to hte gates of ironforge, all were amazing. But after the adventure I want to get the grind on.

I get shit on as a new player, not that people are rude but I have a hard time finding groups. people are usually friendly but when I mention "lol yeah I'm new to WoW in general" most people seem like they don't want to deal with it or teach me, had people be nice about it and say they prefer more experienced players for their group or I straight up get kicked, I was psyched about a "social" mmo and it was good when I first played and everyone was level 1 I managed to get a group for a little bit but as the progression kept going it seems like theres little want for me, maybe its my class (hunter) but I'm learning a lot of things solo thats been fun I enjoy the gameplay and I like the grind

Dungeons are okay but repetitive. The game was pretty good for it's time. I think people took the wrong lessons from the game including the direction WoW took.

I just don't see myself grinding to 60 and replaying through it all in one of the most time intensive games.

I expected to quit after 10 levels, then after 15 levels, but im still playing past 20. It has a nice flow. but especially past 40 when the game just runs out of content adn the grind is real is when im wondering if i would bother. Its already draining a lot of time

The game has an amazing addiction draw. Even other mmorpgs I've played aren't as addictive with better gameplay.

There is something about the pacing that is addictive. Perhaps how intermittent the reward is with highs and lows. The item progression is pretty well crafted too.

Well. I know mobile grind / gacha games use a principle of insane complexity. Meaning:

You have some weapon buffs, some summons, 20 different pages with things to upgrade / move around / collect and it all combines to how good your party is in gameplay.

The point is they have soooo much complexity it confuses to how simple the concept is. So you grind and grind while getting that 1 item for your harmony elemental grid and your weapon grid, and your summon grid, and your classes, etc etcc etc

So it's actually so complex as to fool the player how simple and stupid the game actually is, plus you can just buy power to have no problem in the content.

I think WoW does this with quests really well. You might get a hub with a good number of quests for a level, but you have to move around in a schizophrenic way between hubs. Guides alleviate this, but the idea is the questing is complex to hide how simplistic the concept is.

It's sort of like the players who go "man questing really meant something in classic" when all they did was take the classic quest hub and scatter it around the map and add lots of walking.

Classic is okay but it feels like a total downgrade from retail in every way. I have no idea how people can say It's objectively a better game and Classic has killed Retail, It's a direct downgrade with strong suits in certain parts of gameplay.

I don't care for either of them but I definitely gave Classic a genuine try, between the dull combat and the long distance journeys of the same boring textures again and again with mountains that look like there were teraformed in fucking Second life, I couldn't pull myself to play past level 20.

I simply just have a zoomer brain I guess and feel like my 1-2 months spent leveling to 60 can be better spent on better games.

Everyone is obsessed with hitting 60 because the game at it's core is a rat race. If you do hit 60 you are rewarded with spending a few weeknights doing the same boring content over weeks for possible gear upgrades based on guild politics. Which all exist so people can get better gear.

One idea I had like 10 years ago to drastically cut down costs was to completely get rid of the character level system. This will cut down on throwaway garbage content like a lot of quests and zones.

The problem with zones is that they are only relative for a very short amount of time in a genre that generally takes a lot of time. If you finish a zone for levels 1-10, you will likely never go back there again for any reason. All that time and effort put into make all the content is discarded as a one-off. Replace it with something that remains useful through the entire lifespan of a players involvement in the game.

Faggots who think that this game makes you "social" and helps you getting friends while you can do that in every single fucking game, but they're just too fucking retarded to do that
