ITT: Benched party members

ITT: Benched party members

Attached: Persona-5-Royal-Yusuke.jpg (1280x720, 145K)

I cycled everybody in when I played that game, but this dude was such a faggot that I considered benching him for good.

I benched Mona, Ann, and Haru for the most part. Sometimes I'd swap them for weaknesses but otherwise my main party was Ryuji, Yusuke, and Makoto

Yusuke was alright. Having Masukukaja for speed boosts is buff. Mona and Haru are the worst/most useless party members.

The best party is Ryuji, Ann and Makoto. Ryuji for attack buffs, Ann to nerf the enemies attack power and Makoto to increase the party's defense.

what the fuck are you people talking about

Aigis until she gets Athena, save for very certain instances where she's needed to dispel Tetrakarn. Palladion is nigh-useless.

Not sure if "benching" someone in the last 1% of the game because the other primary melee member can suddenly deal fuck you single target damage is considered "benching".

I only used Shulk, Ricky and Reyn. But Sharla is far more useless than Melia.

Literally everyone used Joker, Ann, Ryuji Makoto

Reply if this is your main team so I can prove my point

Attached: image.jpg (1920x1080, 449K)

Aegis is the best character in the game , Orgia mode is OP as fuck

no

This user is right. Anyone saying no probably isn't real

Makes me sad because I loved her, and her heal is good at super low levels.

Attached: D1PSP_Flonne.png (783x1035, 526K)

This aside from swapping Makoto for Haru, her ranged and psy attacks are too good

yeah, me too.

Attached: hqdefault (1).jpg (480x360, 14K)

Wrong.
I used Yusuke, Ryuji, and Morgana the whole game.

I forgot she had Orgia Mode, honestly. I just used her as any other character. Ken is a poor man's substitute for Yukari and Akihiko too, but he at least covers both bases + Hama.

This character is so useless jesus christ.

A shame because the robotic hands + drones combo was unique concept, but he's just so slow and his skills suck

Attached: Rg-steve1.jpg (500x1000, 72K)

best setup for most Bosses, however Haru had very good ways to deal efficient with encounters thanks to OSK and tripple Down. Also Makoto missed some higher support skills, while having better stats compared to mona.

>Not using Melia to kick enemies off cliffs and get free exp

Attached: f291a8fd9a79b3f93154507ffdebebc4.jpg (850x1340, 93K)

I never bench, everyone has to earn their fucking keep on my squad. Even the joke characters, especially the joke characters, my joke at their expense.

Never bench anons, don't reward poor performance with rest, force them to be useful to your cause, make dull tools sharp however you can! NEVER BENCH!

>tfw there are people in this world that bench Kanji in Persona 4
>tfw there are people in this world that bench Naoto in Persona 4 Golden
>tfw there are people in this world that bench Quina in Final Fantasy IX
>tfw there are people in this world that bench Selphie in Final Fantasy VIII

Attached: 1566795299321.gif (480x270, 558K)

It's weird because I did the same even though the flow of battle being generally short (bosses notwithstanding of course) practically rewards overclocking the shit out of her.

People who didn't work out Quina were missing out. If anyone benched the fucking menace tha was selphie they're a fool.
Irvine was the sub chump

switch ann with morgana and that was my party through 80% of the game. though in royal i will swap them with the new girl, yusuke and ann/akechi

i didnt bench yusuke. he wasn't great but no way i was gonna let that lil bitch ryuji take the spot he was annoying whereas yusuke was funny and cool.
team comp doesn't even matter in persona 5 since joker carries the entire party by himself. thats on normal mode though, i have no interest in playing hard on a jrpg

Why does he fight with a fucking japanese toy?

Attached: JP_1200_Genis.png (640x960, 87K)

>Japanese toy

Attached: HOLY_SHIT_LOOK_AT_THAT.jpg (300x221, 48K)

yep

Who is Cait Shit

Genis can become quite the powerful elf shota just after the midgame if you stick with it

>Benching Genis
>Fucking ever
He's absolutely killer, dude. And he fights with a kendama because he said that playing with the kendama helps him focus to cast spells. It's not meant to be used as an actual weapon.

Joker, Ann, Makoto and Haru. Not even going for a harem or anything just Makoto for buffs/heals, Ann for fire nuke, and Haru for that sweet sweet one-shot kill.

There I said it.

Joker, Yusuke, Ann and Haru reporting in

That blue furry from FFX.

What were they fucking thinking? Can't even use his actual blue magic expect for overdrive.

Most useless party member ever.

Ryuji yusuke and ann

He's so useless it's not even funny.

Based MacArthur poster

I just never found much of a reason to do so. Early on all Aigis knows are physical skills, so she ends up spamming not very useful HP-gobbling skills that don't do much damage and quickly kill her, so I just switched her in to keep her leveled while I used most everyone else for bosses. Once she gets Athena and can start healing and dispelling did I keep her in longer because I no longer had to monitor the suicidal she-bot and she could do things like stall the Reaper, so I wouldn't have to.

Otherwise it's usually me that ends the fight quickly, since I want Shuffle Time.

ching chong weeb shit

Kimahri is "suppose" to be the jack of all trades character since you can make into whatever you want him to be.

Problem is, he's always going to be inferior to the others because their have set traits and he doesn't.

It also doesn't help that the only fight that he's mandatory for (Brian and Yenke) scales to him, so there's no reason at all to honestly use him.

Yusuke has one of the worst designs on videogame story.

Wakka is such an stupid character, why does he use balls to fight? why not a sword or axe?

Because he's accurate and can nail the giant bugs that fly around. Later his balls get spikes or swords sticking out of them too.

That's every character in Dark Cloud that isn't the MC or Xiao until you get Osmond. Thank god the addon system means you can just break down a strong weapon and slap it on their shitty weapons without fusing so you can make it through their forced levels.

Why the long face? Is it because he knows he gets benched?

holy shit you are unironially right

though I would have the cat thing occasionally for an easy heal

Genis is great but desu his problem isn't so much that he's bad but the other party members are either more likeable or just better, especially when you have to babysit him for half the game before he gets gud. Even then the resources you invest into him are better off going into Raine instead. He should be rotated out based on the fight/boss unless you like micromanaging him and he can be really fucking useful at times, but it also doesn't help that Symphonia has it hardcoded into the game that only 1 high tier spell can be active at a time to prevent the gamecube from shitting itself, and this limit wasn't removed in the remasters either

Genis is fun for NG+ playthroughs when he's coked up on that GRADE though. The only permabenches I really had were Colette and Presea

Hes still pretty competitive because he has a +strength weapon. With that and the +10 strength accessory he hits 99 str, ryuji cant

The shining definition of you reap what you sow.

Umaro and Gogo since neither of them can equip magicite thus will have subpar stats compared to other party members and their abilities can't make up for that

PANCKAE TIME

My end party was Joker, Yusuke, Haru, and Ryuji
Mona can eat a bag of dicks and was the worst fucking character in the game. Hopefully that cat gets a rewrite when the new version releases

>playing the objectively most optimal party

I see you are a person of culture such as myself.

FUCK YOU BITCH

When she gets Veronica's powers too she's toppest tier.

And then she loses them and it's back on the bench.

God i fucking hated her she basically makes every character in her game better just because she’s that bad

Attached: mgs5-where-to-find-d-walker-1024x576.jpg (1024x576, 54K)

Get the fuck out of my head.

I have a team based on phys skills. So I have Yusuke, Ryuji and who ever is slightly useful for whatever dungeon. I needed a tanky healer for my phys team. Since Mona his defense is pretty low, I need to heal him more than other party members.

Didn't make much sense in a stealth game.

In all of my playthroughs over the years I've never once used this nigga or Ashley for that matter and he always dies on Virmire

Attached: Kaidan_Character_Box.png (650x550, 265K)

This dude is just the worst party member i've seen, worse than Makoto or Genis i guess, but he's fucking useless in battle, completely outclassed by Shulk, Dunban and Melia.

Also fuck the "reyn time baby xd" crap people do, he's so annoying i hate his accent.

Also he has the same issue as Rikki, he uses a weapon that no one know what is suposed to be, what the fuck are Reyn and Rikki even wielding.

I never understood the Nozomi hate even if didn't like her nearly as much as Toki

Attached: 1541702703486.png (600x600, 434K)

She was just fucking stupid toki started out cool but then she started the master shit

I usually had Joker, Makoto, and Morgana, with the other slot free to be rotated around a bit. Akechi was a permanent addition while I had him.

>most people played soilder but still saved ash anyway.

i mean, immunity is outright broken but having three soldiers in the game is too much.

He has the best Overdrive. Benching Wakka is like benching yourself.

swap ryuji for haru since she has that skill that buff all stats

Cait Sith, Vincent and Red XIII

Ruby and Goro while not OP they were useful enough, Ungaga is just...there.

Wakka is a god.

I'll never understand the Haru hate when she gets all the gun skills.

ruby was actually fucking broken
>MC/Toan
strong as fuck melee
>Xiao
okay until you get Ruby. She's usable if you craft her thief weapon that makes farming a cakewalk, but you can just make them and throw the addons on to everyone else iirc
>Goro the hammerfag
slow as fuck and his hammer attack has a tiny shitty hitbox, not really worth it
>Ruby
strong as fuck but you need to be pretty autistic with changing her element every 3 enemies in a lot of dungeons
>Ungaga the spearbro
fairly strong if you build him right but the MC is likely roided the fuck out by now and his special rapes the fuck out of his durability. I basically only ever used him for the boss in the demon shaft since he has the extra range for the phase where he ignores ranged attacks
>Osmond
basically completely replaces Xiao for the forced switch gaps but otherwise he burns through durability with his rapidfire

He was really good mid-game but he gets outclassed hard in the last third or so.

Why would you bench him, he's just categorically better than Ryuji until Ryuji gets Charge. The only reason you should swap him out is if you need lightning.

she has the lategame party member problem and is a good example of a newgame+ waifu
>joins the party late enough that most people have decided what they want to run with
>her niche is just barely covered by others since it's a 4 character game, so most people have suitable replacements already geared up
>because she joins late, most people don't care about her either and already know who their bros are

FEEBLE MASSIMO?!
I liked him but he wasn't X, Zero, or Axl, he couldn't steal, and he couldn't heal

Attached: latest[1].png (829x967, 552K)

Whenever I play jrpgs I use the characters I like the most rather than trying to min max. I used MC, yusuke, ryuji and makoto in P5 in my first run but I used all of them in second run. DQ11 is the only game where I consistently used all the characters

Attached: B326327D-4074-4060-9CF1-D91B0400A793.jpg (584x458, 67K)

Mona is objectively the worst.
>heals are covered by Makoto or one of your personas with spell master
>shit HP, constantly getting one shot
>doesn't reach rank 10 until very last dungeon
>fucking annoying and looks stupid

just give her a star pupil and let her learn star magic. she was always good for me.

Attached: Marle2.png (430x690, 277K)

Fucker, posted it right before I had a chance to

Literally useless

Literally no reason to ever use him.

I honestly forgot he exists.

Wrong, his offensive spell pool is godly, he makes a great second mage.

>has haste

Attached: blimey.jpg (212x238, 10K)

Attached: Pic_ch02.png (847x940, 214K)

Chrono, Robo, and Ayla is objectively the best party.

I do not understand the utility of this character, also Jade became quite useless near the end.

Attached: 07_sylvando_main_toriyama-min.png (794x873, 100K)

He was really good for most of the game, only falling off when other healers and buffers became better. Still, thanks to being able to swap party members no one was absolutely useless, not even Rab, but Erik was still clearly the best.

This. Ryuji/Yusuke/Makoto is objectively the best team.
Magicfags need to leave.

For shame

Dark Cloud: Ungashit
Persona 5: Shitgana or shitechi
Dragon Quest: shitonica
Xenoblade: craprla

Joker, Yusuke, Makoto, Haru

Him along with Babus and Al-Cid. Being unable to change jobs and having a pathetic starter job means they do little but be cool trophies in my party. Frimelda too, but that's just because by the time I get her I already have a full team, and she doesn't have any unique skills or jobs like Vaan and Penelo do. She simply joins too late.

Attached: Ffta-ezel.jpg (492x517, 40K)

Fuck Goro Shitechi

Only when Ryuji got Charge, until then Yusuke did rape-machine levels of damage if you think to get his +5(+10) STR weapon.

No character is as useless as Sharla from XC.

>Using Makoto

Refused to use him as mog was one of my favorite characters from ff6 and moogles in 7 were just a travesty.

Attached: CaitSith-FFVIIArt.png (353x417, 161K)

Sheena from Symphonia.

She's got some reasonable combos when you play as her.

Wasn't there a problem with the AI in Symphonia that made Genis and Raine unable to cast at the same time?

This, literally 0 reason to use her
Why? Nigger is capable of wrecking the casino dungeon, from what I remember
Drive Boost + Thunder Bullet spam is a solid meme build, only if you're controlling her obviously

>Bench/joke character
>Slight oversight can turn them into a fucking monster.

Attached: fear_the_mouse.png (320x200, 12K)

Makoto is unironically the mechanically best character in the game other than Joker, which is a shame given she's the worst party member when it comes to her actual character.
>Team defense buff
>Team heals
>Judge Of The Dead boosts all her stats by +20

Man you'd think after RPG masterpieces like Persona 5, Nier Automata, Monster Hunter World or God Eater 3, we'll be entering the golden age of RPGs...but then we get crap like Ni No Kuni 2 or Kingdom Hearts 3 my hope just fades away.

go bitch about your bleeding anus in another thread

I used Haru, Makoto, and Ryuji. I spent most of my time worrying about SP so I dropped Ann. Even if the karns aren’t always good they provided some nice backup utility.

Attached: Ignace_Portrait.png (1000x1000, 412K)

that's not cyril

Based

Attached: 7.png (865x485, 439K)

First playthrough I used Yusuke, Mona and Haru except for swapping Yusuke for whoever for bosses.

You can explode most dungeon enemies by yourself by targetting weaknesses, but unless you grind the enemies with no weaknesses are going to be an issue. The best team for dealing with them is the two guys with high crit abilities and Yusuke with that boosted baton pass.

Second playthrough dungeon enemies didn't matter so I used Ann, Ryuji and Mona because they exploded bosses faster.

>masterpieces
>God Eater 3
kek

He has Lucky Punch. That makes him more useful than anyone other than Joker.

Lucky Punch is overrated as fuck and useless against bosses.

I benched this fuck and then killed him off

Attached: traitor.jpg (540x266, 19K)

Who cares about "against bosses"? You spend most of the time dungeon crawling, not fighting bosses, and the team comp against bosses will be decided by weaknesses and resistances anyway.
Mona and Haru are the only ones who can down enemies with no weaknesses.

Can I just say I really appreciated how in persona 5, even benched teammates got exp. It meant that no one actually got benched at all in the end because they were all still levelled highly enough to be useful. Especially when you advance the shogi girl social link to let you swap party members mid battle, came up really useful against shido because the multiple phases of that battle did drain my party of SP by the 3rd phase.

Yes, but it saved my team on multiple occasions when we were caught with an enemy that was too strong but had no weaknesses.

The shittiest companion in the story and even worse as a party member

Attached: 1546653795491.png (800x1224, 274K)

Surprised nobodies posted Flurrie from ttyd yet.

There's no real reason to ever use her in game.

In fact once you get multibonk and rally wink goombella is all you truly need.

Pretty much this, but I'd switch out Ann for Mona in boss fights for that media spam.

Just because a move doesn't work against bosses doesn't make it super good for exploring the dungeon to get to the boss.
Abyssal surge is almost broken with how easy it made steamrolling late-game dungeons and mementos areas.

>post-game shit makes a character OP in a game with no postgame
You need to sacrifice a level 87 Persona to get this and you finish the game at, what, level 60?

>but the twins
Are the easiest boss in the game. When you fight them you have access to persona that null Phys and instant kills, and two skills that when stacked make you literally untouchable (angelic grace and that other super high avoid passive).

Makoto having an OP weapon you never get is not an argument for her being good.

>tfw I have to play a shitty minigame to get his ultimate weapon

Attached: Shuri.gif (640x262, 2.86M)

more like i only used croix and cocona as vanguards

Attached: At2-legris.jpg (730x1000, 91K)

My Persona 5 team ended up being Morgana, Makoto and Yusuke.
My Persona 4 team was Yukiko, Teddie and Naoto.
My Persona 3 Portable team was Aigis, Koromaru, and Ken, though if I played now I might end up with something different even without shaking up my party just for the sake of something different.

Or you can finish the strength confidant you stupid fuck, you can get that during Sae's palace. And even if you don't, it doesn't discount all her other benefits and utility. There is not a single situation in the game where Makoto is not one of the top 3 party members to have with you.

Based and redpilled

>in a game with no postgame
But there is, why would you lie

Koromaru was awesome even in FES. He kept dodging the final bosses's instant kills and ailments like a champ.

Koromaru was unfortunately the worst team member in my opinion. Nothing really great for bosses, he doesn't even get an ultimate persona. I preferred Ken over Koro, and even then I didn't love Ken, he was just better.

Rally Wink is the best ability in TTYD

>not Sharla

Why, it was Red for me

What? You think you can easily fuse a level 87 persona before the final boss just because of the Strength Arcana? Stop grinding so much dude. That's not the point of the game.

Also
>decent phys attack but no single target phys attack or any phys attack higher than medium
>middling mag

What even is her role when dungeon crawling, other than a heal dispenser and a Freibot?

The only thing she has going for her is that she is less squishy than Mona, but even Mona can take a hit so that doesn't matter. The buffs can be covered through items iirc and abilities on Joker. Sure she's great against bosses that target whatever her resistance was, but there are better options for everything else.

It's not like he's shit from beginning to end. He's pretty damn good for a good portion of the game after he joins and only really falls off when Ryuji manages to nab Power Charge. It's a bit like complaining that Akihiko is kinda shit because Nyx makes debuffs far less useful due to having two turns a round in spite of the fact that his debuffs are incredibly useful for the other 99% of the game.

But Yangus hits like a truck, I don't even know if the new party members can outdamage him

It's a combination of the fact that her AI is retarded and me not wanting to play anyone that isn't Yuri.
I feel like the more complex combat is in a Tales games, the shittier physical attacker AI gets as a result.

Attached: Judith.png (298x580, 192K)

>The buffs can be covered through items iirc and abilities on Joker.
There it is, I was waiting for the cumslurping brainlet opinion. Literally everything in the game can be handled by items and Joker so you're really just arguing that literally everyone else is useless and not just Makoto. Fuck off.

Koromaru is better than Junpei for a majority of the game because of his higher magic and stronger Agi skills, but once Junpei evolves Hermes to Trismegistus and gets Spring of Life he hits like a freight train. For some reason Koromaru gets Mamudo while Ken doesn't get Mahama though.

>What? You think you can easily fuse a level 87 persona before the final boss just because of the Strength Arcana?
Not that guy but... yeah. That's what their level 10 ability gives you.
>What even is her role when dungeon crawling, other than a heal dispenser and a Freibot?
So what's her role other than healer, buffer, feibot, and dealing pretty decent physical damage? I guess nothing then, user

>Akihiko
>Debuffs
???????

yup

while you're at it, Goombario from the original game should be mentioned

In FES at least, yes. He has access to all three debuff spells.

Joker

I just finished FES and he never used them ever. It was either Sonic Punch, punching the shadows himself, or Zionga spam. You must've had him on Support tactics.

>Makoto
Eternally benched and only used in the party menu for healing. Mona's critical inducing punches kept him in the party.

The MC, Xiao, Ruby, and Osmond were the only worthwhile characters. Goro was probably the worst though, you almost always ended up trading hits.

I don't remember any, just the twins.

Well no. You can't cover multiple crit abilities, you need multiple people for that. Also if Joker is doing support, which he will be doing a lot, you need damage dealers for bosses. You want to conserve SP, so you don't want him casting expensive -karn abilities. You need two people to achieve a boosted baton pass. Also if Joker is doing damage, he needs to be healed, and Morgana learns high tier healing spells several levels faster, also Samarecarm so Joker isn't wasting a return reviving someone.

Makoto wants to be a bit of everything, but she's mediocre at everything. Being a buffbot is probably the best asset, but you only cast that every few turns so yes Joker has that covered.

>Benching characters in a game where EXP is distributed to everyone, even characters not in the party.
Unless you're purposefully avoiding Mishima's Confidant for whatever reason I can't see why you'd bother to do this.

His animation after an all-out attack is the faggiest fucking thing I've ever seen, all writhing around like a snake.

Attached: 1556062786456.gif (367x451, 78K)

>tfw ran joker/morgana/yusuke

Attached: Damienarmies.png (471x336, 114K)

Have you seen the other shit you have to do for the other ultimate weapons. I'd take doing Blitzball over having to dodge fucking lightning for Lulu's weapon.

>You must've had him on Support tactics
Well, yeah. Typically you have to tard wrangle the AI into doing anything useful for you.

You guys were seriously using level 87 persona against a boss whose recommended level is like 70? Why are we even arguing about best teammates, if you level enough you can solo even the twins. You can break the game in half at level 77 when you get access to both Angelic Grace and Ali Dance.

Blitzball is comfy.

Get some friends, user.

>play xillia 2
>every character is fun to use and viable in their own rights
>set them to do anything but stand away and use items/heal
>constantly fuck up combos that you are doing or force the boss into "alright stop fucking hitting me mode" because they knock down/pickup from knockdown the boss when everyone is gangbanging the boss
>shit gets worse when boss retaliates with mystic arte or anything similar

That really hasn't been the case for me until The Answer, I just let them all stay on Act Freely and they tended to prefer knockdowns to set up for All Out Attacks. In The Answer somehow they seem dumber, repeatedly throwing spells at a shadow they just downed and wasting my efforts for an All Out Attack setup.

true

As a fellow katana bro I never benched him

Not my main team I used ann, haru, yusuke, and joker.

Typically Act Freely is fine for mook battles in The Journey, but if you kept them on Act Freely during boss battles you were definitely making things more difficult for yourself than they needed to be. Buffs/Debuffs are the name of the game in most MegaTen games, after all.

>You guys were seriously using level 87 persona against a boss whose recommended level is like 70?
If you play on Hard it's actually a bit difficult, don't just play on Easy.

She deals decent damage when you recruit her, but falls off hard because she is specced around magic. The opposite of Haru pretty much, who you should be using as a phys unit.

She's a decent healer, but Morgana is just better at it and deals more damage because of his MAG. Morgana is to P5 what Yukari was to P3, in essence. I didn't have trouble keeping him alive on Hard as others are saying.

Being a buffer is of course good but I could not justify ever using her because her damage output tanks around the time you get Haru.

Noir, Skull and Panther.

I played Joker as a healer

>I don't remember any postgame, just this bit of postgame content
Wut

I benched this slut as soon as i got Kanji

Ok
Try merciless then

She becomes pretty irrelevant once you get Eiko

Haru - heat riser
Ryuji - matarukaja sp???
Makoto - mediarahan
JOCKER - HASSOU TOBI

Divine pillars all round

And thats how you beat the twins

Isn't that the only bit of postgame? And all you need against them is a Persona with an OK phys ability, that stops instant kills and has Ali Dance and Angelic Grace equipped. They can't touch you while you whittle down their health. I beat them by accident with a shitty physical attack because I had those two abilities.

There's the twins, and Satanael. Which is postgame content. You claimed there was none at all.

I benched all the sluts and went with an all bro team, well Kanji and the other two by default, and it worked out well with them providing all the needed buffs.

He has one of the best action triggers in the game though.

>all the faggots pretending Makoto is a bad party member
I understand that you don't like Makoto as a Character but don't pretend she isnt top 3 Party member just becuase your faggy waifu is less popular.

An easy fight and a persona that can be fused by exploiting the Reaper. Wow so much post-game content, sure was worth fusing that level 87 Michael and fusing him into an OP weapon.

I thought it was about exploiting weaknesses, since that's how it went with pretty much every boss in the game. Even the Reaper was about exploiting his gleeful willingness to cast Break, so that Aigis could dispel it and make him waste turns casting it again.

>Moving the goalposts
You claimed there was none at all, user. Glad to see you admitted you were wrong.

Basically this. Swapped Ann for Akechi during the twins boss fight though

She's great in RD.

Lucky/Miracle Punch is such a stupid meme, the number of enemies not weak to anything is so low. I know "Joker can do it better" isn't an argument most of the time, but in this case it's so easy to just have one Persona with a high-crit skill instead of dragging Morgana along for the one single fight per dungeon where he's useful.

>Bench a character
>They become a mandatory party member in the next chapter

Attached: 1547189997480.jpg (500x447, 55K)

Pretty sure I mentioned the twins from the beginning. And if we're nitpicking, the twins and Satanael are technically NG+ not postgame.

fuck this manlet naruto wannabe

Attached: Caspar_Portrait.png (1200x1200, 627K)

Joker can kill everything except the enemies where Morgana is the only useful teammate
>not taking Morgana along
???

>Pretty sure I mentioned the twins from the beginning
Then why claim there's no postgame content
>And if we're nitpicking, the twins and Satanael are technically NG+ not postgame.
So they're not postgame content... they're just things you can do after you beat the game. That is nitpicky as fuck, user.

You're wrong five words in.

She works great against mobs but she is mediocre against bosses. So she is great 95% of the game.

High crit skills are rng based
Joker didn't always crit with them, so 2 tries is better than 1.

Well, exploiting enemy weaknesses will only ever take you so far with Bosses considering they eventually stop having them towards the latter half of the game, and the thing with The Reaper is more an exploitation of a quirk with its AI, rather than something like using Zio on an enemy weak to Electricity. Buffs and Debuffs, however, are almost always going to have their use - either the boss wastes turns dispelling them or they hit you for less/you do more damage to them, and generally they make for much smoother sailing overall.

>not building a max luck Persona for Miracle Punch and confusing Mementos bosses

I wasn't intentionally trying to break the game on my first playthrough.

But my high luck persona still didn't crit often enough. But if you're running around in a dungeon with an enemy with instant kill and no weaknesses your priority is shielding against that instant kill.

I had one of thopse fucking lobster witch persona and cheesed all of the endgame through its OP repel shit, bootleg Senator Armstrong couldn't fucking touch me

Attached: T3-m443.jpg (528x640, 41K)

In my playthrough I neglected to do the S.Links which gave out SP restoring items so I really appreciated her higher SP pool.

He’s the biggest chad in that game.

My team was Haru, Makoto and whoever I needed for a 4th slot, usually just Yusuke.

Yukiko on P4G is literally the best party member, she has access to the best fire spell on the game and the best heal of the game.

>Makoto
ha, Morgana is a better healer and damage dealer with nice critical spam
plus, most of Makoto's toughness comes from Marakukaja, cat just dodged attacks that were coming his way

Attached: kimahri-ronso.jpg (1187x668, 105K)

Melia's great tho. But I guess if you don't want to control her she's pretty useless.

Morgana is only better on the final day because of how his retarded confidant works. Makoto gets her evolved persona faster so she's better most of the time.

How fucking dare you. He has the option to go to anybody's sphere grid right off the bat and he learns some of the most powerful moves in the game from enemies. He literally just becomes a better version of every other character except Yuna because of summons.

He's a good fapbait, i've fapped a bunch of times to him when i was playing, but otherwise he's completely useless in battle he's so slow....and the gale battle on vedan can fuck off.

Attached: Deego_full_metal_jacket.png (482x620, 252K)

????

Not that it really matters since only Overdrives matter at end game, but I found him useful enough depending on what route to go on
>Tidus's path for first turn Hastega/Slowga Combo with Quick hit Spam
>Make him the white mage while yuna becomes a better Black mage
>Early Steal/Use from Rikku's

provided you can actually finish it fast as it requires pretty high social stats

>He doesnt keep the first 3 party members he gets and uses them the entire game, while abandoning everyone else entirely

Attached: DiWS30Y.jpg (412x350, 49K)

>>He doesnt keep the first 3 party members he gets and uses them the entire game, while abandoning everyone else entirely

that's what I am doing in this game because the devour mechanic (kill an emery with a devour move and you get a mini sphere grid) only works on a per-character basis

Attached: Dragon Star Varnir.png (599x599, 649K)

> fapbait
> a dog

Attached: Geppetto.jpg (800x1200, 132K)

I normally do this unless a later teammate is really cool and one of the starters is really bad. SHC is the perfect example. Benched Geppetto for Joachim and never looked back.

Most useless party member in the entire series, benched her as soon as I got access to Kanji.

Attached: Chie-Yes-894x640.jpg (894x640, 121K)

Well even the bosses for me were less buffing and debuffing at times, but I suppose I used them too. If the enemy spammed magic I'd throw up a Magic Mirror since I didn't have anything with Makrakarn or set Yukari on Support so she'd spam Mediarahan, or buff everyone with Rebellion and high-crit weapons and accessories and go for knockdowns for All Out Attacks again. But most of the other buffs and debuffs I'd never use, unless the boss was weak to one specifically, like Charm or Panic.

We're talking about Persona 3, not 5.

I have never ever used this guy

Attached: cernd.png (210x330, 201K)

why so many personafags?

>OP image is from Persona 5
You know how Yea Forums works.

Ryuji, Yusuke and Haru.
Not that it really matters. The game is easy enough with any team.

user she have God Hand, a lot of power and fucking critics, Ryuji is literally her without crits and he is consider top 3 in p5

AK47 was better in every single way, I think this was more of a joke characterDidn't know that you could recruit this fucker in a2, Frimelda wasn't that bad, she came with double sword already learned, also:
>Only 3 female humes in the whole game
Never understood why tactics advance took the same path as tactics ogre with the gender/classes

You can't recruit him in TA2, I'm talking about both TA and TA2. In TA2 he gives you a law card that lets you keep your judge in a couple fights later against Illua.

>galactic punt
>turns encounters into putty with power charged multi-target skills
>joins so early that you can upgrade her Persona insanely fast
>MAD crits in golden
No way man. The only shitter in P4 is vanilla Naoto.

he cute

Yeah, there was a spell queue. Fun thing about it though, your enemies usually had to wait in the queue too. So as long as Genis or Raine was casting a spell, feel free to wail on the enemy to interrupt their own spell so your party can continue firing their own. I think a couple were exempt from this though, like Abyssion and the other Tales characters in the Coliseum bonus battle.

Its to hold him back from using his true strength. Wakka is actually one of the strongest people on the team.

Imagine how fucking strong you have to be to be able to throw a ball underwater so fucking hard you can knock out giant monsters. On top of that do it multiple times in a single attack. Dude's hiding his strength behind a plastic ball.

Video games

In the original version of the game she's useless but in Golden she's a monster

>even using haste
Chrono Trigger is in my Top 5, but it's so piss easy that haste is overkill and a waste of a turn.
Also,
>not having a single tech mutli-heal

He can even self-destruct. Badass

>not Chrono/Robo/Frog
Brosquad4life

Wrong. Her main problems of being an SP hog and having mediocre stats still remain. She's slightly less useless against bosses but she's still pretty much the worst party member to use against them because her combat stats still suck and you're better off with someone more dedicated to either physical of magical damage. Also you have to waste social link days to get some of the dyne moves.

I used Yusuke a lot because I like him. Ryuji's an idiot.

Why is he the worst?

Wrong. Her main problems of being an SP hog and having mediocre stats still remain. I used that team for a while but I switched Ann for Yusuke because he has buffs. With my party setup I could have full buffs on my whole team turn 1 and use Joker for Debilitate.
>Ryuji buffs attack
>Makoto buffs defense
>Yusuke buffs agility

He is a good supporter. Party heal + buffs. He was pretty much always in my team when I played hard mode.

I switched Makoto for Morgana. There's something about the final part of a persona game that always makes me reassemble the OG crew.

Yusuke >>>>>>>>> Ryuji

the strongest character in the game

Elizabeth is such a pain in the ass to fight, holy fuck. Immune to her attack? She gets mad and instakills you. The fuck is her problem?

>Ryuji, Yusuke, and Makoto
Yeah I went with that too. Swapped out Ryuji with Mona for lucky punch if the enemy had no weaknesses. Baton pass with Yusuke was insane.

are you me?

>best phys character in the game
>benching that

absolutely based

Sorry, was getting connection errors.

Morag in XC2. Unless you're controlling her she can't do enough damage to maintain aggro

Potential good character or used only to get Shadowwalk and Super Combo and then benched accordingly

gook moot did something user, im having the same issue

This girl and every other character after Thumbelina.

The first five girls, with the exception of Red Riding Hood, are the best characters in the game.

Attached: 27c28c1ec959db124162dccbe1157a85ae3f1457r1-800-1000v2_uhq.jpg (800x1000, 74K)

yusuke was really strong mid game.

Laxia and Sahad

I always ran Ryuuji/Yusuke/Mona as my team, I had personas to cover phys resistance if needed

He isn't but the lack of Charge doesn't help him just like how it didn't help Kanji in the original P4.

Is charge 2.5 or 2 multiplier in this game?

2.5

yep

2.5, pretty sure.

i never used joker idiot

Ann

Don't remember much about 8 after the first time playing it years ago. Aren't all characters essentially the same due to the junction system?

FF8 and 12 (base version) suffer from "everyone is exactly the same" syndrome

I used Ryuji Mona Ann the entire game.

Dumped Morgana the moment Makoto showed up and never looked back. Makoto+Ann+Apsaras (later Principality) was more than enough healing to get me through any individual battle until Makoto learned Mediarama, which meant Morgana was far more useful being an auto-heal bot in between fights. Ann was always a top damage dealer, and off-healing in the middle period of the game, plus attack debuffs on bosses, made her essential. Makoto had too much utility to ever not use. Ryuji was the third against trash with Yusuke against bosses because Yusuke consistently outdamaged Ryuji, then once Ryuji learned the team attack buff that flipped. Haru I only really took into trash fights once she had enough gun skills to rape everything, otherwise she was benched.

The fuck? I took based Morgana over Ryuji. Right about the other two though.

I hope they buff him in Royal. I like him but he was such a mess of a party member

what
she was always my goto main

Honestly Symphonia was horrible when it came to having party members with you since they join you/leave you every fucking hour in the game so managing your party was a bitch at times.

Also killing off Zelos wan't canon anyway since he is in Dawn of the New World.

Speaking of DOTNW, literally had to bench the main TOS cast since they don't level up which they never fixed in the Symphonia HD Collection. What a shit game DOTNW was too.

Touché

Eternal Sonata did this on the ship segment. You were fucked if you didn't level up those party members earlier.

I used Yusuke instead of Ryuji unless I really needed thunder until Ryuji got charge and became better

Infinite Based Works

out of my head, a lot of Chrono Cross characters. In CT Marle and Lucca. P3 the dog, that little kid and had bench Mitsuru in P3 because of MARIN FUCKING KARIN. P4 Yukiko and Naoto. P5 Morgana and Ann. SoA Enrique. ToG Cheria. FF4 that annoying ninja

>bench Yusuke
I think I only did that in one dungeon or a section of a dungeon, but he was always in the team. I saved his few multi-physical attacks he had and for some odd reason I would critics often with him. He also would dodge a lot by boosting his speed once, so he stayed

Team was usually Joker, Yusuke, Makoto(because her weakness is barely used against and she had god tier equip boosts for all stats) and either Ryuji or Haru. Haru is a beast once she gets her gun boots. Barely used Ann because Joker could do magic better. Morgana is only useful for the first dungeon, but defensive wise it sucks ass.

He stopped being benched the moment I had enough gems to make him broken at half-game.
The ones benched, unless forced in, were Sheena and Collette. Regal was useful since the PS2 versions
First part Kratos, Lloyd, Raine and whatever. Half-point Zelos/Kratos or Presea, Lloyd, Genis, Raine

Fuck. In the moment I forgot Edward was also a thing in FF4

always used these two and benched bowser and peach. bowser may be bulkier and peach may be broken, but i prefer the difficulty level of keeping geno and mallow. plus they're both CUTE!

Attached: __geno_and_mallow_super_mario_bros_and_etc_drawn_by_ameko_ameko03__d19402f9c4fe8c605e6015a84b3af963. (600x800, 256K)

Only benched him because he fucking missed and died from a crit, turn 1, in the first fight you use him.
Obviously jinxed and bad luck. Can't have that shit on my team.

Attached: 1544178212853.png (1200x653, 202K)

Attached: tamabased.jpg (400x400, 33K)

I hate these three fucks.

Attached: 8749848564165.png (1438x1078, 1.24M)

>Put Mitsuru and Yukari on healing duty
>Knock down two of them
>Mitsuru moves
>Casts Mabufu
>Raises back up the two I knocked down and misses the only target she needed to hit
Raaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh

Same, used Haru in the final dungeon and boss though

Attached: 3 - yUhivQg.jpg (600x832, 86K)

Test.

Why the fuck was Mitsuru AI so damn retard?

I feel like everyone's AI is somehow stupider in the Answer. Nobody pulled their punches in the Journey, and now they're double tapping downed opponents and letting enemies take their turns.

Yes but I'll use Mona Yusuke and Haru if I replay it

Yusuke was pretty much a permanent member for me
>melee aoe and high crit chance
>party dodge buff

He was the only likable one in the phantom thieves imo.

Attached: Piros3.jpg (732x1069, 112K)

She'll only instakill if you have an omnipotence orb, or are immune to all attack types. However if you have absorb instead of immunity she won't do it

I've heard that in infiltration mode it's pretty OP.

>mouse wearing platemail
fuck yeah

Elizabeth will instakill you if:
>You have a Persona with more than one Block/Repel/Absorb type
>You equip any accessories that make you immune to any type, physical or magical
>You cast Makrakarn, Tetrakarn, or use an Attack Mirror or Magic Mirror
>Your current Persona's Block/Repel/Absorb type counters her current Persona's primary type
>You cast Armageddon and don't kill her with it

his overdrives are shit late game

Did anybody actually get rid of Esther or Swain for Marcassin in Ni No Kuni 1? Esther's song mechanic to capture familiars was too important to leave out of battle and Swaine was just a much more fun character despite his small MP pool, and both were always higher leveled than Marcassin by the time he was playable.

Attached: marcassin ni no kuni 1.png (637x1261, 555K)

Makoto has inferior healing skills compared to mona
Mona can learn Salvation, Miracle punch. Makoto is worse by comparison I'd rather use him instead

nope

>bench half the roster
>Final boss has you make 2 teams

Attached: 1563767620215.jpg (640x480, 45K)

I actually always used Batu. His hits felt very meaty to me and he had a lot of health, which was useful for my brainless playstyle.

I didn't use Roland much after I got Bracken and only used Tani sparingly, but I didn't touch Leander even once. That's mostly my fault since I didn't know he was a playable option until his Kingdom's storyline ended, but he was also just pretty lame to me.

Attached: leander.png (384x1056, 391K)

literally Ann does the most powerful magic attack she literally 2 shot the chalice boss. I thought i skipped it when a cutscene started happening

I benched Yusuke ONLY because he was gay and I am a hetereosexual. Ryuji was a bro so I kept him the entire game.

Based

Yusuke is a beast for every situation that you can baton pass in

Melia's AI is retarded but if you play as her she's fucking broken. Sharla on the other hand is beyond saving.

>Figured with their Palom and Porom dynamic that he'd be a black mage
>Already had Jensen fulfilling that role quite well
>Benched the shit out of him from the moment I got him
>End game was just Cooke and the Immortals
Now I find out he's not even really a black mage but more of a red mage.
Still wouldn't have used him though.

I played this when I was younger and can't really remember who was the useless one. I feel like it was gale.

Yusuke, ryuji, Ann
You fool

I know Ciello was useless in DDS1 because "weak to ailments"

except for that one fight where "weak to ailments" is a godsend

Really? I actually liked using Steve, but it might've been because I just spammed Ice Beam on weaker enemies. As for the Party, I'd cycle them, but mostly used Jaster, Zegram, Steve, Kisala.

Fuck that boss battle. Made me not play Deego as much even if I liked the character.

You do realize she has the best topple in the game along with one of the best damage outputs behind Fiora and Shulk? She fly kicks bosses other characters can't topple at all.

he was only good for randomly following up and one shotting an enemy that would wipe the party

I just built him as a black mage. Sure he lags behind Lulu but there are so many enemies in the game that are weak to elemental magic you may as well have another mage.

He’s a coward and his weapon is dumb

Attached: 1B374618-1CA1-4F1D-89A6-11FA60A5ADB1.jpg (649x1440, 259K)

Benched Pamela and the alien thing. the alien's good against normal encounters, but I just skipped most of them since they turned into health sponges.

Attached: Mk-illust1.jpg (800x1060, 287K)

I used him all the time. I love Goemon games, so that's one reason. But I liked him in general too.

>ryuji
>straight

Attached: 20190830_063434.jpg (631x1202, 323K)

Basically , but also he was pretty beast in the mid-game once I gave him dual Falcon Sabers. While Erik could also do it, I used him more for stacking earth and poison damage. Plus, he gets the earliest full party heal ability, and it never stops being clutch.

Moogles are a subrace with shitty stats

Attached: Ffta-montblanc.jpg (371x414, 22K)

I used Yusuke end game so I could murder everything with a buffed Yoshitsune.

It's not like you need to heal all that much either. Everybody is viable in CT because it's one of the easiest RPGs ever made.

Correct & based

I only ever used him for the dragon fights because tank.

Attached: Sten_new.jpg (340x374, 68K)

Jesus christ do you people actually not know how to play this game? Why would you NOT use ALL of the characters per palace?
>go in with 3
>once one is low or empty on SP, go to safe room
>go to entrance
>swap out for other member with full SP
>rinse and repeat till all are empty
>only use SP restoring items on Joker (pointless to use on party members since you can swap the members out)
>search all vending machines and shops for SP restoring items
>get to the treasure in 1 from start of a palace in 1 day (2 if they make you exit at some mid point like Sae's palace after getting to the High Rollers floor)

Attached: 1566870160227.jpg (400x263, 27K)

Having permanently benched party members triggers my autism too much. It just feels weird dragging someone who contribute nothing around, so I've gotta get alteast some use from the shitters once and a while.

One of the reasons I like P5 so much is that the dungeon system encourages you to switch party members. Anyway in P5 there aren't really any bad party members.

>Needing to swap characters out for SP
Lmao do you even SP adhesive 3 bro?

God I wish that were me.

Bro Pamela was really fun to play as. Lots of weird abilities and moves that take up multiple spell cards. It also doesnt hirt that the English VA gives me a boner
I personally benched Saint Seiya and the Spell Card Manipulating fag. Kinda regret the latter one cause I bet he'd be broken.

Im not reading through this thread. Best team is Joker, Morgana, Ryuji Makoto.

But in contrast, Moogles are the only race that can use guns. And Charmshot and Stopshot rule over all.

What game did you play, Haru is incredible! To bad the dungeon you get her is Buffalo Shit.

This is the chad team

>>bench half the roster
>>Final dungeon has you make 3 teams
God FF6 is overrated

Because the game is fucking easy and by the end of the game Joker can solo most battles by himself with the right Personas.
