After putting 230 hours into EDF 5 I started feeling nostalgic for 4.1 again. Sadly the Air Raider in 4.1 is unplayable for me now. They just did damn near everything right for the AR in 5.

The only thing 4.1 did better was vehicle calls as soon as the mission started. The 3rd weapon plus a shit ton of background reloads make 5 AR much more fun.

I think air raider should have had support equipment that you could choose instead of a vehicle similar to ranger. Though that would probably make him even more busted.

They are situational before the late missions on hard/early hardest, and the stronger models are useful in almost any situation.

Need to protect your ass in close combat? Take a turret.
Need to kill a lot of trash enemies? Take a turret.
Want to use a tank/grape? Take a turret.
Drones/human babies? Take a turret.
Shield bearers? Take a turret.
Humans/ayys? Take a turret for suppressing fire.

The first great turret is level 46, actually.
You should also add KM6 bombers, they are really fucking good and underrated by most players. Except the cheap single plane bombers, which are not very impressive.

I never was a fan of them tbqh, even the one with 4 lines.
Sure you can spam them, sure the one with multiple lines like slicing a cake is really usefull for flying targets, but I don't know, lapis on flying stuff gets the job done and spritefall cleans some spots

Yep. Only good use I can think of for no limits is if you want to farm armor in multiplayer, so like playing easy on Plains of Conflict without limits just for quick and easy armor.

And mostly it's never even necessary to farm too much armor, but I have been playing solo online inferno for an extra challenge and having a little more armor always helps.

Absolutely. If you're playing online always play with limits, otherwise it just makes the harder difficulties trivial. Even Inferno can be made trivial if you're playing with DLC gear, it just takes the fun out of the game.

What frustrates is me is when some fuck with less than half of their 3k health is rushing to rez someone I'm heading to with my full 10k+ health. It's not fucking calculus to realize if I rez the guy then I only need to get three small heals to get back to full while the rezzee has full health, but if ButtFuck McFencer rezes him they're both going to need to pick up more heals.

KM6 is great for the hive mission, but if you really want to delete it use the Cannon DZ.

So far, the air raiders I've seen pick strafe runs don't use the red nyx, play turrets, stay in the starting spot, and die like dumb fucks when they're surrounded
Meanwhile, I get two nyxes, jump around like a chad frog, and take down trash mobs + heavy targets with minimal damage

I think you're probably bad at the game or just still early into it if you don't appreciate the KM6. The KM6 Z4 absolutely wrecks swarms and it goes in front of you and behind you. So if you're kiting a big swarm in your mech you can quickly pop out, left click your KM6 without aiming it and jump back in.

And KM6 for when shit gets real. It's the only swarm killing weapon the AR has that you can stand inside of. Phobos is great but it's not going to help you when you have a swarm of bees on your ass. Running in a mech won't help either, they can even keep up the insanely fast DLC mech.

Try this: Make a password lobby and I want you to try Mission 108 Despair inferno solo online. Attack the middle spire so all the drone and bees come after you. Try whatever dumb strategy you want but don't use KM6, just try and defeat that one wave of enemies.

If you can do that I'll stop saying you're bad.

I don't give a fuck if they do decent damage (they don't), having them turn around when something gets behind you does far more harm than good. They continually blast you, fill your screen up with fire, drain your health, and worst of all slowing you down to a fucking crawl so you can be eaten up by everything.
Stop bringing them. Use guard posts if you want to use deployables.

Flame turrets allows to stunlock swarms at the entrance of a tunnel. They're absolutely awesome in the right hands.

Bullying shield bearers in a flashy way is just very satisfying. You can attach any type of turret to the moving ones while they are passive, with the same result.
Non moving shield bearers are extremely easy to kill with Red Nix anyway.
