1440p and 144hz its literally all you need, if you got a beefy enough pc, 4k 60hz its a meme and 4k 144hz are so expensive that its just not worth it

1080p 60fps. 720p is enough if you're playing on a TV.

I have gtx 1070 so I wouldn’t be able to have 4k 60fps if I wanted to.

76hz IPS 1080p > 60hz TN 4k / 144hz TN 1440p

60 fps is for subhumans lol

>tfw grabbed a freesync 144hz 1440p IPS for 300€

yes you could just not at max settings. I'd take res over settings myself

Been using 60 htz 1080p thinking about upgrading soon to 120 +. Also I usually play some games at 30 fps

Is something wrong with me?
I have 20/20 vision but I can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4k, maybe barely, very barely.

As for frames per second it's impossible to tell 30fps from 60fps for me.

I think you people are crazy going on about frame rate

I thi

Mayaswell just get a 4k 60fps, they are pretty cheap these days

4K is a meme
Do 1440p 27" if your GPU can handle it, otherwise stick to 24" 1080p

>impossible to tell 30fps from 60fps for me.
See picture. Basic monitors are often 60hz so you'll probably not see a difference between 60 and 120 unless you have a monitor that can go that high but you should be able to spot the difference between the rest.

Just realized the .gif becomes compressed when uploaded here. I'm an idiot.

From what I’ve read GTX 1070 can only handle 4K at like 30fps

>30, 60 and 120 all look the same
Bullshit, this gif is wrong

240fps or kys you soulless graphic whores

>240fps
You fags will never be satisfied. If 240fps were to become the norm, you'd be demanding 480fps.

Bigger is always better. 1440p is nice and when I try to play at 1080p it looks jarring. I can only imagine the same happens to people with 4k monitors.
What you really want though is a monitor with HDR and an IPS screen for maximum color and contrast.

All of them look the same to me

Spotted the smooth cinematic console player

>480fps
Found the poor fag 960fps is where it’s at

What about programming? Would you prefer 2 1080p monitors or one huge 4k?

I can only tell because I'm focusing on a single object. If I focus on a million pixels at once I don't see it. The human eye and brain is not designed to be so attentive. High frame rates actually caused motion sickness in its heyday with those Sony Bravia 200fps TVs they used to sell. The brain doesn't enjoy seeing things move too quickly, it won't even notice on a conscious level. Subconsciously you may just feel a bit sick

Btw the brand of the tv is more important than the resolution as it utilises better technology and parts.

A Sony 1080p looks better than a no name 4k tv

Go fuck yourself.

Big screen 1080P 60 and VSR 1440 for certain games

1440p is gay as fuck desu. Everyone's moving towards 4K. 1440p especially isn't worth it because 4K is becoming more feasiable every year. Next-gen GPUs is gonna change everything but it's still be expensive to get a good 4K monitor. But on the other hand you have all kinds of retards handing over 400-600 bucks for a 1440p displays so. Personally I would just wait if you're fine with your current monitor. Upgrading right now is kinda dumb

I have 144hz 1080p

It kinda depends on what you like. For me I go with a 4K 60Hz with a larger screen size

I have a 2080ti, I had a 4k monitor too. Ended up swapping it out for a 1440 ultrawide. Use my.old 4k monitor for my PS4 now.

4k demands too much, I'd prefer high fps and a wider field of view.

Its the other way around...
You can easily play everything on a higher res(some games are locked but its easy to fix it), but fps higher than 60 only in most modern games a lot of games especially from the past are locked at 60(trying to uncap 60 fps games usually turns out in a speeded up unplayable mess).

wait a few years . 4k will be as cheap as 1440p maybe even 1080p monitors

I think people are more concerned about the costs of a GPU that can smoothly run 4K.

If I don’t care about anything more than 60hz, how strong of a graphics card do I need to use 4K?

Im on the 4k train since 2016 It wasnt that expensive, well the prices havent moved at all since then so Im really glad I id it kek.
My next upgrade would be 4k 144hz in a year at minimum(when next Nvidia series drops)

For everything ultra a 1080ti att minimum.
For a high experience(almost the same as ultra) a 1080.
I dont know if they sell these cards anymore just buy the RTX countterpart.

true. although i think most normies will end up getting ps5 if the rumors are true

>4k will be as cheap as 1440p
lol. You realize prices is more about performance, right? If you want proper HDR and shit that will never be cheap

The human eye can’t see past 480p

Any other absolute madmen here still play at 900p?

3440x1440p 120hz Ultrawide is the sweet spot. The X34P is an amazing fucking monitor for it's price. The only way you should want a monitor that isn't a gaming ultrawide is if you're one of those faggy try hards who want to play at 800x600 res at 400hz for CSGO.

>I can't tell the difference between 1080p and 4k, maybe barely, very barely.
Are the monitors different sizes? A small enough 1080p monitor may have the same dots per inches as a large 4k monitor at which point they will look the same.

4k is only noticeable at a close distance and after playing for awhile; for example edges look a lot smoother and AA becomes unnecessary, you start to notice lowres textures and high res ones a lot too. Stay with the 1440p chads tho
