Drops are when the game slows down because of poor performance, in Bloodborne the speed is tied to framerate so when x2 werewolves are on screen it will actually go slow motion.
But frame pacing is the time difference between each frame being inconsistent to a noticeable enough degree that it appears as a hitch or a stutter.
This programmed into Bloodborne itself so playing it in PS4 boost mode does nothing to fix it.

I found it overly difficult and confusing to get good ranks in combat, and I didn't really understand how to do things like aerial moves or combos outside of pulling them off accidentally, and that killed my motivation to keep playing 2 hours in, since I was able to platinum everything in Bayonetta and MGR.

It isn't really that difficult. The game just kind of dumps all the fighting mechanics on you at once and expects you to use the training for better explanation and practice.

The hit sound effects are perfect, everything feels satisfying when it connects. DMC5 had issues delivering on this, only Balrog sounded this good on hit.

At least explain why.

Literally this, game's trash and I wasted money on it

I've only played an hour but so far it doesn't really make me want to keep playing. Taking control of two things at once feels awkward. I don't like that to run you need to push in the L stick (wish it was just holding the evade button) or that you need to take your thumb off the L stick to the d-pad to switch between your gun and baton. The astral chain gimmick seemed neat at first but it seems like they overuse the "wrap astral chain around thing" too much. I usually go dub for platinum games but god damn the voice acting is fucking horrid. The lips aren't synced at all in the English dub and even in the Japanese dub you can tell they didn't do a good job syncing. Your always angry looking silent character just feels like a prop in every cutscene. That's all the issues I have.

I do like how you can use your legion to listen in on conversations or using your chain to counter charge attacks. I hope I've only seen the tip of the iceberg in terms of what you can do with legions.

So far it's pretty nice and I'm having a blast.

>You can fully customize your character, only the name and gender can't be changed once selected at the begining.

>The difficulty so far is well adjusted, you have 3 setting, autocombat (shit for journos), easy and normal pt (normal platinum games). Finishing a file will unlock the extreme difficulty
>the framerate, is actually much more consistent than what i expected, even on open areas filled with ennemies but i haven't seen everything yet
>the combat is fun, fairly fast and has still a lot to offer, learning to control your legion can be super tricky but if you add the waves of ennemies and the ability to change depending on teh situation it can be overwhelming, there's a lot of potential for some crazy shit and i love it.
>Other nice thing is that whenever you finish a file you can immediately replay the one you completed (or sections of it)
