Climax was weak, Huss clearly storyboarded the ending YEARS before actually writing the comic getting there. I mean it was probably storyboarded before [S] Cascade, it's so out of date. Way too much time devoted to Bilious Slick who was never fucking important. Main kids borderline disregarded. Why the FUCK does Jade even exist if all she was going to do was get slapped down?
Honestly I can't even remember it that clearly at this point, it left so little of an impression.
Very much a let down for the enormous journey required to get there.

vriskagram changed the characters for a new parallel version of them. Most of the stuff that happened in act 6 didnt mattered at all, specially since it wasnt even good but fans learned to love it that way, so all got wasted.

The Epilogues IMO chose the least satisfying way possible to wrap up Act 7's loose plot threads, and on top of that failed to make an actually interesting story in its own right. It isn't even finished, for fuck's sake. It ends just as soon as shit gets interesting.

Read up to the end of Part 5 at the very latest. Just assume that Doc Scratch wins and the kids got duped, it's a more satisfying ending than part 6 and beyond.

If you enjoy really really long, character-driven, complex stories that have a decent sense of humor, yes, you should read it. All of it. Don't listen to retards telling you to stop at Cascade - part of the integral Homosuck experience is reading the entire damn thing and deciding how you feel about Act 6 and beyond.

I think A6A6I5 had some of the best logs in the comic. Part 3 is definitely the weakest part but I wholeheartedly enjoyed Part 4 and Collide.

That's the ending, the villain succeeds in executing an unnecessarily convoluted plan with the goal of never finishing it, and therefore being always on the run and consistently relevant and mattering.

The chat logs were a decent idea that just got fucking out of hand. At some point there'd be fucking pages of text per image and everyone had their little text quirks and man it just pissed me off eventually

I liked it, personally. It's hussie's take on the question of what it means for "happily ever after" when you need to keep writing stories. Maybe I have low standards but I had fun reading it and genuinely didn't expect Homestuck to keep going afterwards.

This. Most of the hate towards act 6 comes from the pauses it had while publishing. Although it is true there's a lot more of teen drama than in previous acts, it's more than good enough. Specially Caliborn and everything related to him.

I agree. I've reread Homestuck multiple times and Act 6 is still pretty strong, and the Epilogues have made me appreciate it more.
The only real problems it has are the loose plot threads like the rings, and how Hussie completely stops narrating in Part 4, which is more of a problem than you'd think. That and I think the retcon could've been handled better (that being said, I didn't mind how Vriska was handled at all, since the way she's handled and how she affects the ending completely fits her character).

I won't lie, experiencing Collide and Act 7 for the first time after binging the comic for the three months prior gave me an adrenaline rush like nothing else, I rember getting to the credits and being pretty much drenched in sweat.

That being said, a lot of this was becasue fuckers on Yea Forums had lowered my expectations for the ending so hard that I was braced for the absolute worst, and so Collide being so hype & fun and Act 7 having such incredible production values was more than I ever could have hoped.

Well yeah of course, but what about the other 8 Alternian Trolls? I would've loved routes for Equius, Nepta, Eridan, Sollux and Aradia.
