How much monkey business is there?

It is both tedious and clunky somewhat by design. I think it's actually the most genius thing about the game. I ruined many tree branches before I figured out how to make a simple stick. It's the kind of gameplay that makes you feel like the character you are playing as, in this case a dumb monkey. You smash rocks together with other shit somewhat randomly till you hear an audio cue that lets you know you are on to something but you then also have to time your altering correctly. Slowly you figure out what the different animations will do when you click and what certain tools might work on.

I think Epic is somewhat delusional in that they think having exclusives alone is enough and I think 2K just genuinely doesn't give a shit since Epic paid for more copies then they would have sold by advertising it. It's part of why Epic doing this is actually really bad for the industry, it encourages publishers to not care about the success of their game, they just need to sell it to Epic.

It's even weirder that they don't explain the sound prompt because it means you probably have an hour or where you are trial and error trying to figure things out like a dumb chimp but once you realize the sound is there to guide you, it just becomes a game of QTEs like you said.

Pretty sure Epic store is DRM I think its that it comes pre cracked. Either way I can also confirm that I only needed to run the installer. It was a custom installer though.

The grooming fucked with me because I thought you needed to do it a certain number of times. By chance I had apparently been letting go at the right time and succeeding by chance. I thought it was that I was doing it for a long enough period of time, a certain number of bites. Figured it out the first time I tried to strip a coconut though.

In my opinion the bigger issue is the use of non stone tools so early on. We have literally no clue when pre humans first started using them because they don't remain preserved in a recognizable state like a flake tool does. I get the feeling it's based on modern chimps because certain things like using sticks and stems to fish for insects and honey are things they do but that's an extremely unscientific leap of logic especially since it is a horribly common misconception that we evolved from chimps.

I believe a fair bit of the bad ratings come from journalists being bad at the game, it being a long slow paced game that doesn't hold your hand or give you much directions on what you are supposed to do.

For every newborn you get to permanently unlock one node, starting from the middle, and everything else resets and needs to be connected again.
The random feats you unlock let you skip thousands/millions of years depending on how many you collect but when I jump forward by 1 million years nothing really changed.
I might keep playing for a little bit longer but it's starting to get old, especially since the "upgrades" are just shitty tiny incremental upgrades so far.

As a game this is pretty uninteresting and I can see why it got mediocre scores.

You will be able to, it goes like:

>Evolve 1 million year forward so the mutation becomes permanently applied to the entire species.
I think you'll start seeing the walking mutation after 1-2 evolutions

You need to have in your R-Hand a stone or a spear to counter-attack, while you are in the slow mo screen keep pushing A+Forward until you hear a "ping" then release to do the counter.

If you have right unlocks you can kill anything nearly in one hit, spear broke after the counter, stones are more durable and can be used again.

To heal bleed you can use the Horse Tails, grinder it with a rock to make a paste.

Also in some trees there some yellow fruit that you can use directly to stop bleed.
