Not going to lie, it's actually quite fun but it'd be nice if they properly covered everything within the Dragonball series storyline. Even Dragonball with Kid Goku and all of Super.

Though, these games only ever got made because of the new Dragonball Super series and movies. Shit sucks, to be honest.
The second game is unreplayable though due to the unskippable tutorials.

I just downloaded all the transformation mods I could and went full Donut Steel waifu.

In comparison super dragon ball heroes is leagues above even just by being a 1 button game

Great fan service, good graphics and a fun combat system. Suck that it's hard to mod on PC because of anti cheat. Played it a lot and always come back to it after a long break. 8/10.

I liked it a lot and the mods made me play it even longer than I would have since it allows me to full autism with my custom character.

2 has some issues though and I keep hoping for 3 to come along for a shot at fixing those but they just keep pumping out DLC for 2 non-stop.

i'm literally playing it right now on PS4. I do love it, but there seems to be an incredible amount of wasted potential in lots of areas, including characters. There doesn't need to be slots wasted on Supervillians. Also, a lot of things are just stupid, like the Saiyan tail accessory. It doesn't flop around like SS4's does. Also, why didn't they have a tail in the first place. Right now though I am destroying Parallel Quests with GFrieza SuperVillain. Just spamming Emperor Death Beam. This game has great balancing issues. But I love this game for making SS4 playable and other characters, plus your character can go SS3 which feels awesome. This game is trash on PC because of cheaters and mods and hacks, so fuck tat.

xenoverse 2 is an extremely lazy cashgrab made by fucking monkeys.

Spent 50 hours with a friend doing the multiplayer quests, was really fun but for some reason the game was unplayable at the end and we never found out why. I remember it was right after the ssj blue update.

Neither of us was lagging and yet the enemies were super bugged, to the point that we simply gave up. We never finished the game again with another characters and that was super sad.

Super disappointed with Jump Force after that, could have been as fun as xenoverse yet they fucked up everything.

XV1 was 100% "OH NO THE BAD GUY IS PURPLE WHAT DO???" but there are some standout ones in 2 like Ginyu stealing Vegeta and TPTrunks's bodies, Cooler arriving to help Frieza against Goku and wasn't there one about Future Gohan actually beating the androids and Trunks having to correct that timeline?

But I agree, there needs to be way more wacky stuff like you mentioned. Supersonic Warriors for the GBA had some brilliant What-If stuff like Piccolo reviving Demon King Piccolo and force fusing with him to beat Buu, or Krillin learning the Spirit Bomb from Goku on his 1 day on earth to defeat Cell.

Awful gameplay, mediocre story, terrible roster.

It needs a baseball game mode, it needs to give other races new transformations and it needs to stop giving us shitty DLC characters like Regeta and Ribrianne. Also more hairstyles that aren't just wigs because it's really weird to have Yajirobe' wig which stays black and the the rest goes yellow when transforming into a super saiyan which looks really weird.

I'll always have trouble going back to a Xenoverse game, due to finding re-learning the controls and getting back into a groove really daunting.

But most importantly, isn't going back to Xenoverse a cope for not learning a real fighting game like DBFZ?

It's cool for mindless fun and fanservice, I enjoyed some hours out of it. It gets old eventually, because the gameplay is pretty shit. Also DBFZ blown the shit out of this game, it's great for both dragon ball fans and fighting games fans.

This game was barely finished. When they added that mentor questline with Towa's kid, I had Raditz with me, and his entire final cutscene and dialogue was in japanese. Everyone else was in the english, but they didn't even bother putting in the english dub. I don't know how they fucked that up.

Arena fighters just seem like bad action games to me. Like I'd rather have a fully fleshed out DB action game. If you are going to make the game restrictive in some ways, just make a real fighter. Instead it is this weird middle step of poorly balanced and too much dumb shit, but also locked into a bad camera not quite having full control. Even the fans of arena fighters never seem to agree on them, they just like what they played when they were little.

Arena fighters can be good, it's just that most of them aren't. The only recent ones with any depth are KLKIF and Pokken. XV2 is a special case where in addition to the typical arena fighter issues, they had to balance rpg mechanics and customization. The whole game ended up being horribly unbalanced, but the customization was fun at least. I think if they focus on refining the customization and battle system above all else, the next game could really be something special. But they probably won't.
