It's a sense of investment. You look at your account, you have some popular trainers you like, you have a few rare ones. Why not keep playing the game? And after you've been playing for a month, you really wouldn't want to waste that sort of investment, would you?

They made it a lot easier today. You now get about 4 rolls after clearing chapter 1. It doesn't sound like a lot, but the 5* rate is at 7%. Whole process shouldn't take more than 4-5 minutes max.

Dokkan is one of the biggest mobile games with 300 million downloads. It's begger than all of CyGame's garbage games combined.

I wouldn't stress about it. The game is brand new so who the fuck knows what they'll do with regards to moves. From what I've heard for example, Agatha is fucking awesome despite being in B tier. I'm sure team composition and synergy helps (Lyza and Tate work really well together, for example).

There was someone on /vp/ who got through it with Mina and Janine so I'm sure it depends on team composition and how much you put into the specific characters. Also keep in mind that some fights will just be harder due too the nature of type weaknesses - different trainers will struggle at different matchups.

Nope. There is zero difference between doing 10 individual rolls and a 10 roll. So really it's kind of worthless since you can just stop rolling after you get what you want in singles and potentially save some gems.

There is an event with a 10 roll that guarantees you a 5* right now, but you can only use paid for currency for that.

You're not just "given" a 10 roll. You have to save up your free gems or pay.

Type advantages for early on. Pikachu and Onix got a lot of use from me, especially since their trainers are two of the few who use Potions. Pikachu will get Thunderbolt as you progress and you can give Onix another Rock move. Onix is shit though, just good for a few weaknesses.

PvP used to ruin gachas for me, the idea of not receiving the optimal number of rewards drove me to the point of doing very retarded and desperate things in past game. I'm just trying it because the battle system looked like it could be fun and the main games have been just downgrades of previous ones. A spinoff could be nice. A couple hours in and I feel it has potential, just not too sure yet since I haven't come across many utility moves. The mechanics are surprisingly similar in some ways to the actual games.

Pretty happy with the characters I got so far, too. I've never played gacha games before and I've always been fine with disadvantages in anything I play, so I've got neither a drive to pay for rarer things nor grind past the point of whenever I get bored.

Seeing some of the characters fleshed out better is nice too, especially when taking that and applying it to the games they're from. I like how Rosa brings up that she'd starred in movies, and that Marley met a Shaymin in her journey or something.

With this game not having any PvP I'm really worried getting good Pokémon and grinding out upgrades will all just be completely meaningless since you could do everything with the bare minimum so they don't turn away the hyper casual Pokémon demographic that just wants to use whichever Mons they think are the cutest.

VH coops is a bit of a mixed bags but you absolutely must exploit weakness and has to plan your moves accordingly due to the opponent having a 6 move countdown sync while yours is 9, and can't be circumvented with buffstacking since it's with randoms or retarded AIs as coop partners.

VH supercourses in the lowest tier since while it's fairly difficult, with maxed teams like pic related you steamroll them 80% of the time

High cost per roll for free players. 300 gems per roll, each battle nets you around 30 gems, story segments and missions (aka "Collect 100 of this item") net you 10 gems each. Each chapter will net you maybe 150 to 200 gems.

Additionally from the start, there is a clear distinction between paid gems and free gems too, with paid gems not only offering you one much cheaper (100 gems rather 300 gems) roll per day but also the very first banner is a paid-gem-only set of 10 rolls that offers a guaranteed 5*.

The rates are actually quite good, but the amount of rolls you actually get as a free player is on the low side.

Essentially imagine FGO with better rates.

Almost every gacha game in existence will either do a 10 draw during the tutorial or give you enough currency to do one after the tutorial. This is what people use to reroll for SSR/5* units when a game launches.
Masters gives you nothing.
