Jar Jar was meant to be comedy relief, said so by Lucas himself. Scrappy was created to save the show's ratings. Crunch was simply a badguy who was supposed to show what the point of the experiment in the first game was supposed to do to Crash if he didn't escape.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had that basic JRPG syndrome where in this case everyone except Rex (protagonist) and Pyra (primary love interest) were fine. As it is he's just a very generic shonen hero.

Japan really likes the "annoying, spritely, childish" mc trope. But Rex embodies the worst of the Shonen protagonist traits. He's every bad part of Luffy, Deku, Naruto, and every shonen romcom harem protagonist combined.

I don't disagree. 2's cast was great. Well, it would be without Rex or Pyra. They could pretty much be written out of the story and replaced by a create-a-character and nothing would really change.

Xenoblade games, in general, have very good casts with lots of character development, charming personalities, and fun dialogue. There are some major exceptions, though, that usually stick out like a sore thumb. But every RPG has to have their Chu Chu/Poshul/Quina/etc. Except for Chrono Trigger, which has the perfect ensemble cast

Scrappy saved Scooby as a franchise but also brought about the worst seasons of that original run by a mile and lead to a hiatus of sorts for the series. The gap between cartoons where Fred and Velma appeared as adults was nearly 20 years since Scrappy seasons (that's why Zombie Island starts with a shortened rendition of a traditional mystery) after the first dropped them, and also Daphne until they brought her back. Red Shirt era is prime meme/Yea Forums nostalgia material but it was actually HB panicking and trying anything to save the ratings after the layer Scrappy seasons mostly tanked.

Scrappy later became a meme in how he was so awful, when it was more the writing around him that changed him into something awful, but the first Gunn movie and Mystery Incorporated taking jabs at him isn't entirely unfounded.

She is the only one that gets kirby other than MK, defends him and helps him more than anyone in the cast. The problem is that all the town people are retarded as shit and fail for every single DDD shenanigan, specially the stupid kids and her brother that threat kirby like shit and make him be involved in stupid plans that she and kirby needs to fix.

And that also makes her a Mary Sue because she's the smartest one and knows when Dedede is going to do something stupid. It should have been Kirby, Dedede, Metaknight and the Dreamland/Crystal Shards cast. The Dreamland 3 4koma got it right, Kirby is the middleman, Chuchu is the gushy love interest, Pitch is the actual child of the group and Coo is the voice of reason. Take Dedede and even Escargon and put them with that cast and you have a good show full of humor and adventure.
