DMC5 had the the Doppelganger and "NIAMY". Off the top of my head, that's about it. I guess if you could count the "fuck you", but it's actually used well, unlike DmC's.

The whole Vergil fight stage is very similar to DmC's final stage where you fight Vorgil. Vergil is also wearing black now. You got the end combat slowmo and evade slowmos. Enemies are floatier similar to how it was in DmC, there's the style announcer and maybe some other little details that I can't remember right now.
DMC5 does indeed take some inspiration from DmC, for better or worse.

Yes, but fighting Vergil dressed in black on a white stage is very reminiscent of the reboot. It's obviously not a coincidence. Oh yeah there's that little thing on a shop window in the city level where it says "Nephilim - Let us join our worlds together" or something like that. There's also the obvious DmC plug with Dante's color-swap costume.

I was doing a marathon of the entire DMC series by S-ranking the entirety of all the games excluding DmC and i was thinking with DMC2 it's the only game i haven't S-ranked so maybe i'll give it a chance. That and there's also the mystique of DMC2 that it was a horribly bad game that nobody managed to S-ranked it.
And to be honest with you, there were moments where it thought to myself "wtf am'i doing" and really tempted to switch to DMC3 instead. Thankfully i persevered through all the torture and finally got out of DMC2 hell.
