They should remake Megaman Legends.

I could take him
into my arms and cherish him.

Yea Forums nostalgia zoomers will get so pissed when they do this but implement a good control scheme.

Why are the Legends girls so fuckable?

Attached: yuna_little_brown_slut.jpg (593x1039, 144K)

Capcom seems to have a hateboner for legends though.

Fuck, if they make three I hope they try and make it more metroidvania esque like how in 1 you had to explore the ruins and unlock a new subweapon to break through certain walls and obstacles to explore further.

I know its radically different from normal megaman games, but I found the creepier almost survival horror feel of delving into the ruins (like the lake Jyun ruins) with crazed unknown robots while trying to figure out how to progress further to be the best part of legends.

He was never the strongest Megaman, not even close. He was just a kid with some makeshift equipment who always tried to do the right thing. That's why he's my favorite.

Attached: 1547012872169.gif (260x240, 302K)

Who is the strongest Megaman then?

sigma, you say?

Hideki Ishikawa
hitomi.la/galleries/470861.html

you're welcome

I'd say X. He had caonically limitless potential power, so his power is basically Broly if he gets serious.

MML2 had conventional Z-targeting and fluid twin-stick controls that hold up to modern standards and nobody complained about that- oh right I've seen people bitch about how a proper targeting system made the gameplay worse. Can't please everybody.

MML does seem ripe for a remake though. The game isn't too big so it wouldn't be hugely expensive to do. Does Capcom ever do remakes like that or do they just prefer the Capcom re-release test followed by a regular new title?

Attached: 37877895_p0.jpg (1452x1028, 465K)

Am I the only one who doesn't find the legends girls that fuckable?

they all look like underage loli's with small boobs. Sorry, Cow tits man here, give me some 20 some girls/women with large chests.

Attached: megaman.centaurr.jpg (800x728, 79K)

>Listen up everybody! Take everything of value that isn't nailed down, you hear me?! I mean everything— I don't want there to even be a toothpick left, got it!
>Master Tiesel, we've taken all the food and supplies and loaded them onto the ship!
>Uhm, what should we do with the toilet paper?
>We may be pirates, but we're not barbarians. We'll let them keep the toilet paper.

Isn't the MMZ designer a yaoi shota artist? Do the execs at Capcom know about the people they hire?

Is it just me or would legends make a better anime than game series?

Best line in the game. Wish he got more screen time in the second game.

Are you aware that most if not all of nip artists did porn at some point?

Capcom doesn't even want to make a legends collection for steam/Switch/PS/ect. I don't see them making a remake.

>yaoi shota artist?
No, he draws lolis and petite girls like every other Megaman artist who does hentai. Also MM threads are ripe for people who haven't learned yet that doing porn isn't a black mark on your career in Japan.

Attached: 012.jpg (1133x1600, 350K)

Volnutt is no match.

Attached: eeaf95e05c08075b707f8746705374b1.jpg (500x703, 52K)

By this logic they don't want to make a MMBN collection and it'll never ever happen, and they didn't want to make a Zero collection until we found out about it the other day. It'll probably take a year or two but at the rate we're going we'll probably get it eventually.

I just want a Breath of fire collection...
Don't want to have to buy a playstation to get my old BOF fix

Attached: breath.of.f.katt.jpg (963x800, 385K)

so at this point a legends collection is inevitable right? with zero+zx actually happening

who made Volnut?

I've always felt that way about it, since playing the first game and especially after playing Misadventures of Tron. It would work so well as a Saturday Morning Cartoon style adventure

I have this feeling that Legends is one of those things that probbaly sells really fucking awful in Japan. Like what we would consider a pretty unique take on 3D Megman is to them like X7 or Bubsy 3D.

Also I don't believe that stupid shit about the big craters on the world map being from Megaman fighting Sera. That's literally the dumbest part of Legends 2's otherwise kind of interesting story.

But could Sigma beat Sigma?

He's as human as everyone else in the game.
Play the game.

Roll makes Vol nut.

Likely the Master

but there are no 'humans' in Legends

the master system made him to terminate errant AI. But he changed from a fuckhuge nanomachine god to a human-ish baby after almost dying to sera.

Both of them have a lot of tenacity, but Sigma will never stop coming back.

Yeah, those craters looked more like orbital bombardment to me, and it doesn't take much handwaving to view them as exactly that given the planet was destroyed so throughly that the icecaps all melted.

Master was the last normal human. Everyone else are bio androids called carbons, that are effectively the new humans.

You know, I kind of wonder if their take on the series from the Vs. namco games is to be taken as canon, given how Trigger accuses Juno of being a maverick and how juno seems to have been built up in those game as more of a nemesis than just a random speedbump.

Lock on is just a little bit too spot on for it's own good. Legends isn;t hard in the slightest but some of the fights in the original were more novel because of the absence of a hold to win button.

Still the gamplay has a simple elegance to it. You have your gun with 5 stats, your special weapon and it's Range/Ammo etc, a backup lifter for when all else fails and the rest is all about your wits ad not being a retard and walking into a lava pit.

They're close enough to human.
And I knew that, just didn't want to spoil shit for anyone who still cares.

>caring about spoilers for a 20+ years old game

>Gramps has a giant metal plate for half his head and robot eyes
>Tiesel bon looks to be a mostly robotic body
"Close enough"

I want people to experience the game like I did

Tron and Roll look human

Well yes, until you see their robotic vise vaginas!

Is Volnutt's suit an actual suit or does he reconfigure or replace his body? Same question with his weapons.

Attached: 026.jpg (600x450, 111K)

He has Batou eyes but the rest is armor, like Volnutt.

Volnutt's essentially a Reploid so his parts are probably interchangeable.

X is normal height for a japanese person though.

I think during MML3 development the devs stated that Megaman does replace his body with a robotic one when he goes digging. Wish they actually brought this up in the games.

Yeah. I mean, it's kind of like giving an auto-lock on in a RE game, that doesn't work.

Give a "Refocus camera" button that puts it behind your back similiar to Z targeting, but have aiming be manual and have a normal camera move option (Much like how the current RE games work)

Megaman Legends is peak low poly design

Attached: 5c27102c4bbf2a7011aefa5601b76ac7.jpg (400x300, 22K)

God these threads make me feel so fucking old that this level of graphics honestly doesn't bother me.

Late gen reploids could already simply transform between combat forms and noncombat bodies that were more humanoid, no replacing parts required. But in spite of the look I'm pretty sure Volnutt is just wearing powered armor.

Attached: WeilNumbers.jpg (600x700, 103K)

I don't know, the devotion level and issues with grappling with not fulfilling their original programming made it seem like Sera and similiar robots might have been some sort of "Sub" reploid level of mentality.

>bother me

??
Even today MML's stylized visuals hold up.

Attached: 4157733f908e27be7251cef1af1598d6.jpg (400x300, 22K)

Wait no, weren't him and Data made by the Aliens/humans wtf every the advanced race was?

Style over tech; Time and time again its been shown in the video game industry that it doesn't matter how bad your tech level is if you have a definitive art style to shoot for and don't try to overpush your tech. And vice versa, while Pushing for graphics might wow in the short term it becomes HORRIBLY dated very quickly (See FF8).

Yes. Megaman Trigger was a Purifier Unit who was "reset" to a baby and adopted by Baryl.

Irregular Hunter Trigger (before he became a child and lost his memories) would demolish Sigma. Those huge circular lakes/craters; that was caused by him and max power Sera having a go at it in the past.

Attached: MML2Map.png (512x512, 53K)

>implying Sigma wouldn't infect and mind rape him
>all according to cake

So wait, if the Servebots are robots.... we have bio-robots building OTHER sapient robots

>Irregular Hunter Trigger
So they changed his title in the US version huh? Neat how he has the same title as X. Wish we actually saw how Trigger looked back then.

Attached: 1548137000718.jpg (1446x1080, 343K)

Not him, but I think he would look like Copy X in a giant body

we've had that since X2

Yup. And Bon Bonne is a baby piloting massive powered armor.

>humans wtf every the advanced race was?
They were system units. Imagine reploids and humans fused into one race. They're actually the same species as carbons (the "humans" living on Terra), they just have more (like immortality and power) and responsibilities (like being a slave of the system).

Yeah. In the Jap version, he was an irregular hunter, not a purifier. Odd thing is is that I think they kept irregular as the term for maverick in the dub of legends though. Juno calls Megaman irregular in MML 1, for instance.

This is a guy?!

Attached: master.png (847x869, 667K)

Yes, didn't figured it out by the voice?

Part of the games novelty is the ability to fuck yourself over by bringing the wrong equipment or more often then not, getting greedy with pow/ene/rpd over RANGE

Megaman was voiced by sailor jupiter, I don't think what they sound like is a strong determinate for gender.

yeah, but there's a difference between mechanical robots making other mechanical robots and Biological robots making mechanical robots. they're technically two different "races"

It looks okay but the sequel is a lot prettier and other games from the time with a similar design look nicer. Threads of Fate and Tail Concerto are a lot nicer looking in comparison.

>getting greedy with pow/ene/rpd over RANGE
Yeah, I was a dumb kid when I played Legends. Forgot that you could upgrade the buster and got fucked by pic related because I didn't have enough range to hit it.

So is Dr. Light pretty much responsible for the extinction of humanity?

In the Legends timeline? Yeah, totally.

That doesn't really contradict what I said, though.
>Also following the nine-tails legend, Foxtar is revealed to be a very effeminate male. This was revealed in Remastered Tracks Rockman Zero Telos. These shape shifting spirits often took on the form of a beautiful woman to lure travelers off their path.

The machine gun thing whose name I forgot completely fucking wrecks that fight. Still it's a fucking dick move to force you into a basically unwinnable fight if you didn't have a save before activating the console in Clozer SubGate.

Posting best armor.

This outfit smutt when

You talking the rapid fire homing Missile launcher, or the actual machine gun side weapon?

There should be an option to not have him have his helmet in the game without downgrading yourself, it just looks so wrong on trigger.

I forgive him. He created the ideal woman, after all.

>Capcom hates Mega Man
>So we'll never get an ending to the Legends series
>And most importantly we'll never get The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne 2

Life fucking SUCKS bros

Misadventures of tronne bonne two would be a dating game where you try and sabotage Trigger's dates with roll while getting into his pants.

>Juno calls Megaman irregular in MML 1, for instance.
It sounds good. You could easily imagine Juno using such a proper term. Saying "Maverick" seems forced in this instance.

You'd still put your penis in it.

Attached: 294542_1309758386_5IDZdIH7L1k2.cb425_svol.jpg (750x1060, 164K)

what would the ending to the legends series even BE at this point? What villain do they have left?

None. There's no one to be the antagonist.

consensual cessation of humanity is a better way to put it.
Humanity willingly altered themselves into cyborgs and began cobreeding with the Biologically updated reploids in order to try and avoid any future wars by removing all differences between the two.

Its not extinction so much as evolution.

They can make something up. It took like 3 games to explain why the world was mostly desert in the Zero series.

The helmet doesn't even reduce damage that much. Not getting hit makes you look cool

now follow it up with the pic of zero tearing the foreskin off with his teeth

I think it's time to stop saying this. MM11 wouldn't have even happened if they still felt that way. The fact is Legends games cost way fucking more money than a sidescroller, and Capcom doesn't want to gamble on Legends.

Zero, naturally. Legends is the endpoint of an alternate ending of MMX5, where Eurasia Colony almost kills the planet and Zero is a Maverick.

Was the Master a cyborg or actually human then?

Attached: Metabee thinking.jpg (720x480, 46K)

How many years has it been since you played Legends 2, user? The game ended on the "old system" coming back online. "Megaman on the moon" is only part of the cliffhanger.

Who gives a fuck about what Yea Forumstards bitch about.

The real redditchad criticism will be if it changes the artstyle.

?

the planet being a barren wasteland was how things were since X5, and there wasn't anything implying it had been fixed up in future ones.

The master system was foreboding but there's nothing in any previous games (Including ZX which took place right BEFORE that) to give any indication of any sentient AI beings matching that description, or hell even ANYTHING matching that description.

A cyborg is just a technologically enhanced human. You don't stop being a human when you start being a cyborg.

It is being remade

youtube.com/watch?v=FThFZ9Wiq4Q&t=331s

Dark Elf comes back

real human. Which doesn't make sense unless a bunch of humans fucked off to space in ZX rather than cyborg themselves with the rest of humanity.

Attached: corrupted_gentle_judge_zero_by_ibenz009_dd8csyc.png (1869x3047, 3.72M)

Fuck the ZX games. We don't need anything other than Legends games laying the groundwork for itself. If Legends says there's a master system and it's a threat, fuck you. That's the facts.

>ZX
>Same timeline as Legends

Go replay X5, you maroon.

>You don't stop being a human when you start being a cyborg.
You sure about that?

Stop being transhumanistphobic, user.

Why does this get posted?

Tell me about your timeline theories, anons

Attached: Sera stare.png (600x600, 80K)

>unless a bunch of humans fucked off to space
Makes sense to me

>Master

Rewatch the ending. Yuna admits the Mother units don;t really do anything besides suppressing something called the Elder System and that they and their "Machines" have been waking up duuring the events of the two games due to Yuna and Sera's absence.

>Breasts
Who does he think he is? Flea from Chrono Trigger?

ZX was literally created in order to try and be a filler between Zero and Legends. The only reason it failed to do that was failing so hard it got ended before it could do that.

There's not multiple timelines in the megaman series apart from Battle network: Its all ONE timeline.

>Theories

Nigga what, X5 is canonical branch-off. Good End leads to X6 and eventually the Elf Wars, Bad End leads to the apocalypse, Elysium, and eventually Legends.

Elf Wars still lead into Zero, ZX, and eventually Legends

Nice headcanon.

I hate how she's just a throwaway design who'll be dead by the end of the game. Still though, GV2 had the best designs in the series and all those characters died like bitches (even the loli).

Attached: 76480100_p0.png (800x857, 274K)

I'm glad they didn't sync up then, inti creates lore is shit.

the only issue is the humans being the dominant power with a bunch of kill sats and space colonies around the planet when they should have been a tiny fringe group

I mean, I guess if the Bioreploid group stone aged themselves it would have left the pure humans with free reign to build and plan colonization, but it still seems wonky.

Bit of a mouthful to explain

Considering the Sigma virus was wiped out by MotherElf program, yeah i would assume it would have no effect on trigger.

All the niggas on the planet aren't humans, they're like biologic robots that were bred/made to unfuck the environment after a space colony impacted the planet. Thats why they're all called Carbons by the Master. The Carbon Reinitialization Program's entire purpose was to turn off all the Carbons so the humans could repopulate the planet, but the Master realized that somewhere along the line, the Carbons had evolved and achieved sentience and he didnt feel it was right to deep six them so humans could come back.

Dr. Light did nothing wrong. It's Dr. Cain's fault for building Reploids without fully understanding X.

Doesn't ZX more or less reference the Zero series? And reploids and humans starting to interbreed?

It's Dr. Light's fault for not leaving some documentation with X. This is why code commenting is so important: You leave any project and some dipshit comes in and looks at your code and tries to make it better, fucking up eighty different things in the process.

For the longest time I was convinced that Cain was secretly evil, and would turn out to be Wily's consciousness backed up in an AI or something. I mean, an archaeologist that's also an expert on robotics? And the name Cain, like Cain and Abel. I was overthinking it though.

Why the fuck are you blaning Dr. Light when all he did was revolutionize robotics? Dr. Wily literally created a self evolving super virus that is the direct or indirect source of everything bad that happens.

i forget
is this the evil one or the good one

Megaman archaeologists dealt with ancient laboratories and not shit like pyramids and burial mounds like our current day archaeologists do.

Dr. Light was the one who gave robots consciousness which lead to all the subsequent wars and such.

I would argue that most was caused by humans treating robots (who are now human in every meaingful way) like shit instead of like equals. The rest was caused by the sigma virus.

False. Copy reploids and the issue with the Repliforce show that Robot and human conflict will inevitably occur, whether due to robots having megalomania of their superiority (Copy reploids and how Sigma's mavericks ORIGINALLY were portrayed) Or human prejudice against robots (Repliforce).

The maverick virus was a disaster but not the reason the world fell apart-- Human nature (and robot nature since the robots were explicitly based on the human mentality) was to blame.

Are the mml games worth playing now? I've never played them before

It was less than 100 years difference, why the fuck would you need an archeologist for that anyways?

That's like going down to a building made 20 years ago, rifling through its files and declaring it an archeological dig.

Yes.

I would say yes. I think the cartoon style combined with the low poly graphics holds up, and the gameplay is fluid enough. The main reason I'd play is the cute characters and story though, especially the Bonnes. It felt like playing a cartoon show.

Eh, I came up with something, but its kinda shit.

i played them for the first time last year after marathoning classic and X and i loved them
can be a bit frustrating though
the only thing i didnt care about was the music but mainly because it felt really boring compared to other megas

Attached: 1537003863194.jpg (600x518, 67K)

Its got strangely good voice acting for the early days of VA video games being pioneered.

Its got an anime appeal to it which is what drew in most of the fans, the fact that its got really endearing characterization and personalities combined with decent VAs.

so i take it by your answer that both can femdom me

Well more like going down to a building made 100 years ago.

Not him, but one of them caused meteor-like craters in a powered down state, they definitively can.

Wrong, those two are about as sub as you can get for their human sempai.
Kind of the villain's entire motivation.

Elysium was just a red herring. You'r4e led to believe it was paradise created by bored humans but the dilapidated residental area and defense area makes it clear the place was just a gilded bomb shelter that hasn't served it's purpose in a long time.

Probabaly one of my favorite bits of show don't tell storytelling in a game. Shame we'll never find out why it's like this because lolnosequel.

Any ideas for what MML3 plot might be?

but ZX retconned that humanity made themselves into the carbon state willingly rather than the carbons being outright made to serve a purpose.

The entire mother system has to be destroyed. Trigger only dealt with the elysium side of it, but there are remnants left on the planet.

Of course, we could take it one tiny step farther. The final boss is actually the original mega man, who wants to make sure that humanity is left in good hands, so he challenges trigger to fight every single final boss from every single series, from the Wily Machine, to Velguarder Sigma, to Ascended Copy X, to Dr. Albert, and then a final 2D fight between Trigger than the original mega.

The master system reactivates and begins to attempt to terraform the planet with ruins designed for that purpose popping up in semi-malfunctioning forms. Since the ruins are so old though its mainly just the ruins inneffectually TRYING due to machinery jams and whatnot.
This causes a goldrush of diggers trying to invade and salvage the ruins, which turns problematic when one group of diggers inadvertantly fixes a jam while salvaging stuff, causing a massive natural disaster when the ruin "Successfully" begins terraforming its area.

most of the game is you fighting pirates and business leaders trying to take control of the ruins and figure out how to control them, and the final villain is Juno's AI in a new body, angry at Trigger destroying him and then trying to have his mind deleted from the mainframe, blaming him for taking his purpose away by having the system label him an irregular.
He then tries to take control of the master system to just destroy the world out of spite, with Trigger defeating him for good and the land/continents rising from the oceans as the terraforming ruins are allowed to work in a "safe" manner with the ones that won't destroy any islands kept running.

One long drawn out attempt to get Roll, Tron, and Aero to agree to a foursome. Also killing some Reaverbots for no real reason.

Attached: mega-man-legends-aero-heroin.jpg (598x449, 54K)

Reaverbot lives matter.

Juno should be a smaller part of a bigger group. Basically the robot master/maverick equivalent. Imagine 8 different beaurocratic models waking up, each being different in design and philosophy, but having Juno's personality.

Technically, isn't Trigger a reaverbot too?

I think reaverbots are the mechaniloid-equivalent in Legends. Not very bright, and just made for simple tasks. Trigger is way more advanced.

>official Roll lewds
WHAT

Attached: 1538075705086.jpg (956x538, 54K)

what the fuck

Attached: 1559416456465.jpg (675x580, 48K)

I just want Trigger exploring underground cities on elysium, which ends up having their own counterparts for carbons called silicons

No they shouldn't, it was a product of its time to a tremendous degree and that's why I'm not even too upset that 3 was canceled. There is no way that modern graphics could do justice to the game's artstyle and love the controls or hate them they meshed with the geometrical level design and anything else just wouldn't work. Just play the originals again.

>ZX which took place right BEFORE
I want to mention that Legends is so fuckoff far in the future The Master: a 3000 year old man has to live and die twice back to back to even have a chance of getting to the same any of the rest of the games take place in.

There is so, so, so, so much time in there: it is legitimately unthinkable that we could expect anything meaningful at that point in the past. Which was the point of the Legends games because the idea was to be discovering 'lost unknown' historical stuff.

>The only reason it failed to do that was failing so hard it got ended before it could do that.
Far from the only reason. ZX was a meandering mess that didn't really even know what time it was taking place at, or really understand the rationale of its core conceit. ZX was a game designed and made by artists and fans, who just wanted to homage shit. And ZXA for all its ambition failed to do so because it's impossible to actually achieve
-Adequately showcase a transition into the Legends series.
-Allow this to not undercut and spoil the plot of MML3.

Because the real goal was to get MML3 made, so it could have its own plot play out. As if that ever motivated Capcom.

Attached: e02dba4ecb201cb6beea50b05b4b9cc4.jpg (315x450, 32K)

Pretty much every artist draws porn at some point.

>Shame we'll never find out why it's like this because lolnosequel.
Wasn't it Trigger waged war on the Elysium: basically shutting it off from all of the Terran systems before the games happened? Which also happened after thousands of years with The Master being the only living human? Seems like he'd be redirecting all of their efforts towards his Carbon hobby and not maintaining empty rooms.

The Master insinuated the place was isolating, and not cramped, which lead to the population downfall. Although I'm positive the whole thing was legitimately a rip off of ∀ Gundam. So I expect the reasons is just because the Moonrace has to fight the retro-future nation of Inglessa down on the surface

Attached: The Master.jpg (659x1008, 162K)

This looks like garbage. Why did they completely change (and ruin) the artstyle? There's never been a good fan game.

It really just makes too much sense

I was making a mental bet with myself whether or not Capcom was going to remember Sera swapped bodies.

Attached: Sensible Chuckle.gif (250x250, 992K)

>Copy X in a giant body
Why do you think so?

>Shame we'll never find out why it's like this because lolnosequel
probably the same reason why people made the Jacob elevator in X8 or Neo Arcadia in the Zero games

>Capcom seems to have a hateboner for legends though.
A.) it was always a mediocre seller, MM fans didn't want a dungeon-crawling 3D game at the time of the series' peak / decline, and it didn't really attract new fans either.
B.) it was Inafune's pet project and little else, no one wanted to really push Legends but him, so now that he's gone there's basically no one wanting to fill those shoes and no execs wanting them filled.

Sera and Copy X had larger, beefed up final forms. I'd say Prime Trigger likely had something similar, Sera had a huge fight with him all over the world, compared to that over the library, So I don't find it too off to say it.

CAPCOM

>There is no way that modern graphics could do justice
Yes there is: extremely simply: maintain it. It infuriates me that no game designer seems to comprehend static cartoon shading. It's not an idea that needs to age. Motion blur, cel blur, filters, effects don't fucking need to be in the way of purpose crafted models, background. Texturer mapping doesn't need 8000 polygons.

I wonder if it is paradoxically so simple in a skillset that otherwise is totally devoted to inane complexity that any practitioner has a hard time imagining not to overengineer the overworld of a 3D adventure game.

Attached: Fuseman.png (1136x841, 1.52M)

Aero is best girl

Unironically BOTW kept making me think 'Legends would look good in HD if it had these aesthetics'.

Is it possible for Zero to be in the MML era?

>no one wanted to really push Legends but him
Legends is creative-loved. Dozens of designers and artists expressed joy at the prospect of making another one and busied themselves in the decade between the games shoving references into as many other games as possible.

It's just that creatives at Capcom who weren't Inafune: having quit being a creative and started being an executive all have exactly 0 power in deciding what games to make.

Don't forget that while it's a lot of work, the Legends games also used hand-drawn facial animations, complete with some of them being camera-angle specific for certain scenes. Particularly with Tiesel, like creating a funky angled jaw drop with transparency just to circumvent having to deal with modeling that shit. Legends style could work with cel-shading, but all of the graphics were hand-drawing and drawn well, and no one wants to embrace this idea anymore in favor of dynamic lighting and shaders that handle everything while using generic facial animation shit.

That is true. I forgot that Megaman Trigger and Sera literally duked it out to where the world was getting rekt. Maybe he did look similar since he was still called Megaman in those days wasn't he?

That's why I feel they wouldn't have the proper team over in Capcom to really deliver on retaining Legends' design

In Legends: anything is possible.

I could go off on a dozen theoretical if-then reasons. But at the end of the day: The Master was so fucking bored he made reaverbots shaped like treasure chests so that when people, who he made in the future started, started looting ruins after he died: they'd not only find shit stored in treasure chests, but also have to deal with trapped chests that shoot bombs and fucking mimics.

Attached: MML2.jpg (600x480, 135K)

I'll give Inti the benefit but I don't think ZX was hinting at Carbons because Carbons in Legends are only ever referred to as artificial humans. In 1 as well only Megman, Barrel and Tiesel have robotic parts/armor leading me to believe it was either something they invented in 2 or just a big coincidence they decided to retcon into the lore about them being robutts.

Does Capcom not still do spritework? Or is everything Ghost Trick'd?

What's the last sprite game that Capcom themselves made and didn't outsource to Inti or the like?

Attached: 1465849566433.png (279x302, 5K)

I'd laugh my ass off if Bass somehow managed to survive this whole time.

I like you too, I see the way you look at me in study hall... (;

As good as Legends's pixel art is and how good it was at portraying its world in the limitations of the PS1, there's nothing about Legends's concept art that can't be depicted with modern graphics.

Attached: 50.jpg (1280x1928, 885K)

At worst you lose the stylistic charm of pixel art.

Attached: 30.jpg (1280x1962, 983K)

At which point it becomes "do you prefer the image that they intended to convey but couldn't due to technical limitations, or the form the compromise took".

Attached: 25.jpg (1280x1553, 756K)

Modern graphics are boring plus Capcom is pretty damn lazy these days so it doesn't really give me tons of hope that they could properly do good for Legends' art.

It's also a bit of 90's anime art style aesthetic. Everything is so clean and polished nowadays that even for as vibrant and stylized as the old Legends stuff is, most modern things would just streamline all the charm out of it. Same thing happened to basically everything modern with Capcom. Even Mega Man 11 has that "modern gentrified" feel to it for as much as I like the game.

That's why I'm ok with them not touching Legends. Though Nintendo did have a nice 3D model of Megaman Volnutt in Smash

The central plot of MML1 is discovering the island was used to periodically wipe out and repopulate it with new "Carbons" to test population models. Juno outright declares Mega Man was a System Unit/Irregular Hunter.

Taking that alone is sinister as fuck, because after the game calls attention to the why of the Ruins and the issues the island faces with them opening: it turns out they are there for little reason other than to kill them. Sure that doesn't explicitly say carbons are robots... but neither does anything in MML2 really. Just that they're artificially created, modified, and the aim of why they were continually killed and replaced.

Keep in mind no one but the robots of whatever designation from the Elysium can actually tell carbons apart from humans or each other. So I doubt they actually cut open and have wires and circuit boards inside. They're all probably bio-robots with the Carbons being intentionally less powerful than the technology can allow so they can appreciate vulnerability and be 'normal people'.

Attached: RollCaskett stages.jpg (1024x576, 118K)

I like the compromise. The sleek blocky modern look was honestly cooler than the more generic steapunk one. Same goes for the ruins from the rusty, dilabidated underground ruins to the artificially irridescent Main Gate.

2 just made everything look too clean (Yet old) like stone corridors that had a maid service. Calinca was probably the closest to the old style.

All they have to do is give you the option to choose between the new and old one, kinda like they did in MML2, and there would be no problem.

Wasn't it after ZXA's events though? If ZX3 wasn't canned we may have seen what caused the flood. Also carbons fit with humans and reploids being near indistinguishable like in those games

honestly, fix MML2's "half-turn if you go past lock strafing in a certain direction" and you've fixed most of the control problems. if you really want a modern alternative you could give it third-person-shooter controls or an aim mode or something, but Legends could serve to learn from three decades of Zelda games instead of being a clumsy system like it used to be that was improved but far from perfect in the sequel

>They're all probably bio-robots with the Carbons being intentionally less powerful than the technology can allow so they can appreciate vulnerability and be 'normal people'.
Plus they were probably built off of the Master's memory of original humans.

Well that's even darker. The Master spends a thousand years creating simulacrums of everyone he's ever known and loved: and killed them because they didn't live up to his standards.

Attached: 1544485466431.jpg (600x434, 55K)

Exactly. We didn't get to see the Master at his worst.

Legends has 90s adventure anime written all over it.

I can mock up a pitch for Legends that turns it into One Piece.

Searching for the mother lode in a world covered by water is pretty well the same base premise for the setting anyways.

Sorry, I have a crush on someone else. I'd like to be friends with you though, you seem knowledgeable about Mega Man.

Isn't it more common for kitsune to actually be female? And sometimes be married and bred by humans too.
The most legendary one, Tamamo no Mae, was full female (and also a serial nation wrecker who got off on seducing and corrupting rulers).
Not that I wish to imply that there aren't some trap tricksters, though.

He was called Trigger, in those days

Yeah but also with the "Islands are all different and interesting from the last ones to an absurd degree"

I kinda do wonder what happened to Roll's dad.

>He was called Trigger
"Megaman Trigger". That's another thing ZX seems to be floating around: Turning "Megaman" into a title rather than a name.

Sera calls him Megaman Trigger and the Master calls him Megaman as well. So it does seem like his full name really was Megaman Trigger.

I thought it was obvious that Joe was her dad.

Not this guy, but an addenum
>roll says Joe is bleeding after the first dungeon in MML2

Me too. I still try to kick him in the balls whenever possible but he doesn't seem to have any figuratively or literally.

Juno is also a Megaman, its probably a designation for non-carbon lifeforms of a certain rank, power, or record of accomplishment

Why doesn't the Legends world have a World Government or Marines equivalent? The air pirates are out of fucking control and no island's local defense force has been shown to be capable of fending them off.
The closest was Nino Island which hosted the Digger Guild HQ, and they were still fucked in more ways than one when going up against Glyde's forces.

It's Joe, the guy you help in Yosyonke to get the capsule built so Trigger can get down to the Forbidden Lands

By the time Roll and Trigger set out he regains some of his memory and knows Roll is his daughter but stays quiet about it, it's likely this plot thread would have been resolved happily in 3 but too bad people weren't interested lol :(

You have a point. Juno was also a Megaman as well. Makes me wonder if Juno was made from Megaman Trigger.

Carbons also get sick, and crippled. They need need medical treatment or bionics to regain their lost function rather than just some energy.

The master's wistful about this being a notable "good" that the carbons get to experience before he dies.

Attached: Ira Rongs.jpg (600x800, 169K)

It could also be traced from the ZX era when biometal users were called Mega Men, although Legends is so far ahead in the timeline that I doubt any terms would survive to that point. They don't even call robots reploids anymore.

Glyde unironically seems to have more resources than the governament
>Megaman is title just like Ceasar or Augustus from Rome

I think Megaman is probably very literal, as in a designation of "More than Man" since the only ones we know of are in charge of very big important shit.

Did you forget that it's actually Rock Man?

Mega means Great in great, so Juno and Trigger are litearally big guys.

Its Rockman Volnutt, because roll named him after a videogame character as a weird meta joke, but he is still Megaman Trigger

>lots of rockmen
>not a roll or rollmen
Roll Casket doesn't count

But Megaman means Rockman in Japan so this doesn't work. I think it's more likely that Juno was just made from similar material to Trigger.

No. That's just in English. In Japanese Barrel named him "Rock" to go along with his Granddaughter "Roll". It took until the meeting with Juno (or talking to NPCs) to hear "Rockman" in the JP skript. The only meta was the continuity jive with the OG Megaman.

In japanese it's Rock Volnutt and Rockman Trigger.

ha

>Glyde unironically seems to have more resources than the governament
Glyde inherited the fucking Space-Age mafia, which conducts actual slavery in excavating treasure.

What I'd call attention to is that so does Blucher. Owning the largest airship in the worlds. Which seems real fucking odd since digging is amazingly well regulated that I'd assume the mineral rights as it were would assure at the very least the cities scattered around would profit as much off of a successful dig as the digger did. Yet we don't see national or city specific airforces I recall. It's all diggers and marginally equipped ground-based police.

Huh. Then that is just plain weird.

The simple answer is that if they had competent military forces then you wouldnt have to intervene like you do in the story.

>Makes me wonder if Juno was made from Megaman Trigger
That can't work. Juno has to be active, working on Kattleox as an administrator while Mega Man shuts Elysium down to be sealed.

It's possible Trigger's transformed form is similar to Juno's. But I doubt it since his seems like a reserve body and not a transformation like Sera, Geetz, and Gatz do.

I hate how they downplay the Digger's Guild in 2. The building is huge and should be filled with people requesting paperwork for digs but inside it's a single room and a free public ruin that somehow not cleaned out yet.

Obviously but "air police" don't even seem to exist. Not just not being competent. Leaving the (from our perspective) rampant sky pirates more or less unchallenged.

>"Bureaucratic model"
>equipped with lasers/rockets/the ability to attach to some giant monstrosity of a body that can probably level a city by itself
So I guess combat models are canonically like Trigger if he was kitted out with all of his special weapons at once then? Either that or moon government jobs are fucking hardcore.

Attached: 1375769197869.jpg (354x337, 12K)

I cannot stress this enough: His primary function was to commit genocide.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if fucking Glyde gets to the moon before Roll and Tron
I mentioned Trigger having some sort of super form like Sera, Juno and Copy X, but perhaps Juno had to get some fighting upgrades after Trigger got sealed, since he wasn't there to purify shit

Juno gives a whole new meaning to gunboat diplomacy

Yeah but his genocide was with the kill sat thingy, not rampaging personally, if so, why even bother with the sat? Is Juno lazy?

We will never know for sure but my assumption is that the shining laser or an equivalent is probably the standard armament of a Class One Purifier, and then the real special weapons probably scale up from that. He could probably scrap Juno's backup body faster than it could do anything to stop him.
He had a satelite cannon to do that though.

If Trigger were the final boss, his final form with unlocked programming would make Juno and probably even Sera seem tame.

>That can't work. Juno has to be active, working on Kattleox as an administrator while Mega Man shuts Elysium down to be sealed
How does that go against the idea of Juno being made from Trigger?

For adding to the super form thing, here is how it goes in some other capcom series
Dante-Super Devil Trigger
Ryu-Evil Ryu
X-U Armor
Its likely Trigger had an "Ultimate" Trigger state
I would say thats going too far with Sera, she got in a stalemate with him

Sometimes I think Legends was originally intended to be a completely separate timeline like BN.
"Thousands of years in the future". It's so disconnected that it might as well not be in the same timeline. You can say ZX leads into it, but the ZX series takes place like 5000 years earlier. Even if you consider when the The Master was born, the gap is still around 2000 years.
The best case scenario for establishing a connection would be Master Thomas setting up the Elder System, which we might not even recognize considering Legends didn't last long enough to reveal what it was about.

>Glyde
Lex, you mean. Glyde is one of Lex Loathe's resources.

>tfw you learn X is 5'5" and sigma is probably just 6'.
I can never unsee X as a man let

Didn't Lex die?
X has the body of a nip teenager

I feel Juno probably had more power than we saw.

>I would say thats going too far with Sera, she got in a stalemate with him
I honestly wonder how that battle went.

Because Juno first recognizes Trigger, which I suppose doesn't directly disprove it but makes him being unaware of his distension odd. But also Juno has to exist before the point he can be created out of Trigger's body to be constructed out of it.

>Its likely Trigger had an "Ultimate" Trigger state
I see it looking similar to Copy X.

Kinda sad that Legends likely won't ever come back. The sales of the series were a big part of it, but I feel like the main reason is always going to be that it was basically Inafune's baby. He was the reason it existed at all and the reason we were even going to get a 3 in the first place. Nobody in the company probably wants to touch that shit with a 10 foot pole. They'll be happy to cameo Tron and servbots whenever they can though.

>Trigger looking like Ascended Copy X versus Ascended Mother Unit Sera

I'd buy that for a dollar.

Attached: image.jpg (730x1024, 204K)

>But also Juno has to exist before the point he can be created out of Trigger's body to be constructed out of it.
Nothing in the game suggests Juno couldn't have been constructed after Trigger was constructed. We really don't know much about Juno's origins besides being a bureaucratic unit and made to wipe out carbons if they get too overpopulated.

In a way it sort of is. The only real eference to a previous series is a single throwaway line where the mayor of Manda mentions the sword you can win off her was given to her by a hero (cough Zero cough) which obviously has been retconned to hell and back.

Loathe is in jail as of Tron Bonne's misadventures.

I thought he just got arrested. Damn, he must have died in the pen, then. I bet Denise gave him a heart attack.

Attached: PLAYSTATION--Misadventures of Tron Bonne The_Nov15 12_51_22.png (350x240, 48K)

Nah, Sigma towers over X. In X1, X is basically the perfect height to give Sigma a blowjob while both are standing. If X is 5'5", Sigma could easily be ten feet tall.

>Which seems real fucking odd since digging is amazingly well regulated that I'd assume the mineral rights as it were would assure at the very least the cities scattered around would profit as much off of a successful dig as the digger did
I only recall Kattlox being a special case due to how unusual and dangerous their ruins were compared to most islands. Plus there was the legend and evidence of periodic disasters, so they didn't want just anyone poking around in there.
Most of the "average" ruins in Legends 2 were to be pretty detached from nearby settlements and cities in terms of governance.

Juno clearly had to request authorization, and wait for management to respond to pull that. Him talking over the action with Volnutt shows he had options but decided trying to do so without re-initializing would be inefficient.

Legends being in the far future makes sense going by the Z sword being said to have been built based on a "legendary hero" which obviously references Zero.

Capcom would ruin MML3 so it's best they don't touch it. I rather Nintendo handle it.

X8 made him taller

Volnutt living the dream. Add Aero and Denise and its perfect

That would be pretty kino tbqh. Imagine the level of destruction.

If you ever played DMC5, replace Dante, Vergil and Nero with Trigger, Sera and Yuna, except the latter sealing one and knocking Trigger out before reseting him.
I mean, the only other thing I can imagine is him having some sort of ultimate armor of his own

Megaman is such a chad.

Oh, I read that he died and Glyde had his pic on a wall, guess I got memed

Megaman Juno was an amazing final boss and probably was only one of many bureaucratic units, nobody knows what really lies beneath those ruins.

Yikes

>If you ever played DMC5, replace Dante, Vergil and Nero with Trigger, Sera and Yuna, except the latter sealing one and knocking Trigger out before reseting him.
This makes me wish we got a flashback of that fight.

But they're still locked, and require passes to enter. Also the city's getting the zenny, and junk that the diggers sell. That's gotta benefit them without having to force taxes or allow secondary sweeping of ruins.

This. Who said Juno was the only bureaucratic unit around? I mean both Sera and Yuna are mother units after all

Could X go seraph mode too if he wanted, or was that something Copy X had installed to stroke his own ego?
I mean, cyber elf X does have a rainbow halo too.

Never played Namco x Capcom but Juno was and always was a smarmy shit who thought he was untoucahble due to technically "doing" his job. He never seemed like the kind of guy to desire revenge.

I'm honestly surprised they put Juno in that game to begin with.

Only Copy X could go Seraph mode iirc

>But they're still locked, and require passes to enter
Which can be gotten at the Digger's Guild. Unless it's a special ruin, odds are a standard license will unlock it. If it even has a lock placed by carbons. I imagine lots of ruins are still undiscovered or too obscure to be properly regulated, like the sea tower at the beginning.

Who knows, after Zero went to sleep for fuck knows how long, X might've decided that upgrades were needed so wouldn't rely on Zero. That being said, his Seraph form would probably be less flashy than his copy's.
I think they both can, they have the same both body, but different minds controlling it, Z-era X likely had some upgrades

Copy-X's chassis was clearly different from X's. You can see that based on the sprite of his body in Z2.

>Legends confirmed to be set in 8XXX
>the first name that X considered for his utopia (back in X5's ending) was "Elysium".
>the extermination unit of Elysium was called Irregular Hunter

I'm glad this new collection revived these threads

Not him but could you give me the source on Legends being in 8XXX?

>Ciel didn't made a perfect copy
Can't wait to be wrong a third time so I can be clinically retarded

Apparently, the internals are very nearly identical, but I guess someone made some modifications somewhere along the line. I mean, they don't even have the same voice. Copy-X is voiced by Imai Yuka, while X is voiced by Mizushima Takahiro. Incidentally, Zero's voiced by Kazama Yuuto and Omega's voiced by Suwabe Junichi. They hired Suwabe literally to voice a single line in a GBA game.

Yuna's witness to that battle. Trigger got damaged after shutting down the Elysium and defeating but accidentally trapping Sera. That's the point he had his body change. After which Yuna did not intercede on the Elysium's behalf. There was no one to create a new robot out of his body. Sera wanted to eliminate all carbons at that point, not just one island's, and Yuna didn't want to at all.

We know that the "Carbon Reinitialization System" was used specifically in the way that Juno describes, if not designed for part of The Master's carbon beta-testing to introduce differently modeled carbons to test how they behave, concurrent with that beta-testing.

Setting that aside Juno calls the Elysium for administrative approval to proceed with the reinitalization and is shocked to have no one answer. That's impossible assuming he had somehow been made after Trigger's body was made available unless he's never once done that. Which is impossible because of all of the archeological evidence of that being done on the island he defines his duty for every 100 years. For this to have any sense of continuity that system needed to be automated without a Bureaucrat, someone unseen with administrative access to both Terra and Elysium systems, with precognition that wants to fuck with Volnutt, would have to engineer the existence of Juno and place him there and instruct him to say what he did to get the rise out of him and report back, only for Data to happen to know an access code that would thwart that message without Volnutt ultimately knowing what he was looking at.

What? This was all fine and all but again, how does any of this contradict Juno being made from Trigger? We literally know he and Trigger are from many, many years ago.

Juno can't be made by actors that aren't active, or by using material that isn't available.

That's assuming he was made after Trigger vs. Sera.

One of the most interesting pieces of background in the MML series are the Sub-Cities. They are sorta like underground cities with a simulated environment (the sky is a simulation, for example), made to house something called "Prototype Anthro Unit", which we never got to know anything about. Given that the cities are abandoned when we reach them, and there are only murderous Reaverbots around, I wonder who lived in those. Are those prototype units the precursors to Carbons? Are they original humans?

It reminds me a little of a plot point from the anime Xabungle - in it, the original humans, called "Innocent", made two attempts at repopulating the Earth after a world-wide nuclear war: with gene-splicing, they made the Hanawans, which didn't thrive, and then the Civilians, which seem to be a stronger version of mankind. The Hanawans were humanoid but not human, while the Civilians were human but with a strengthened system. The parallels between Civilians from Xabungle and the Carbons/Decoys from MML are rather glaring.

Attached: sub-city.jpg (600x450, 87K)

He wasn't. He reconizes Megaman in his original form but seems to be clueless as to why Mother isn't answering his calls. That would imply he and Megaman are possibly Elder system robots given new orders by the Mother units.

Yes that was the time Trigger lost his body. You have to invent a different one in your headcanon to make it happen another time to make it possible in the first plave.

My guess is that they were the Master's earlier experiments into recreating people.

>Xabungle
adly the Sub Cities plot was completely dropped from 2. It's not even mentioned in the wiki. Shame too because it's one of Legends more interesting parts which got completely glossed over (Besides a musical reference in 2)

Juno even remarks on having not seen him in that body before. Between that and the fact that he is confused as to why Elysium isn't picking up its pretty safe to assume that
-Juno can recognize Trigger by analyzing entirely non physical characteristics, even though his memory is gone
-Juno was asleep when Trigger lost his body and hasn't been awake since then
-Trigger lost his body sometime in the last 100 years

>no one wants to embrace this idea anymore in favor of dynamic lighting and shaders that handle everything while using generic facial animation shit.
Part of what I hated in Kingdom Hearts 3. Everyone looks like a plastic doll.

For a long time, I wondered just how on Earth a tiny-ass island like Kattolox could possibly prosper. There's no way they could have any real exports.

Then I realized that Kattolox has what is likely one of the largest ruins in the entire world. There's no ruin in Legends 2 that comes close to the scale of what lies beneath Kattolox Island's surface.

It seems very likely they were the original residents of Kattalox, whether that means the first generation of carbons or the prototype of carbons. From a design/storytelling standpoint I think this was just meant to push us towards the 'everything here was wiped out' plot before Juno came out and confirmed it so the "who were they" is less important than the "what happened".

>Exports
Now fuck if I understand economics but they have mountains, and rivers with lakes, and wide open fields, a fuckton of forests, and a really dedicated (re)construction force, and a power plant that... might be a left behind power system from the previous occupants. It seems like Kattleox can be a self-sustaining city-state easily. But there's nothing more than an insinuation people do any farming, and all the mining is commented on as illegal.

>From a design/storytelling standpoint I think this was just meant to push us towards the 'everything here was wiped out' plot before Juno came out and confirmed it so the "who were they" is less important than the "what happened".

Which is actually pretty cool. I forgot how much I loved the way the original Legends built up how strangely fucked up and mysterious it was.

>non physical characteristics
I'd rather suggest
>nonformative characteristics
Like Yuna he probably has nanomachines keeping continuity. Ones that do hold his memories. Even if the important/sensitive ones were stored in Data. Mind you him keeping some memories is the only explanation as to how he can read Ancient.

But how they could develop if Juno keeps purging them every now and then?

It makes it real hard to deplete the islands resources if you can only get a few generations in before you get rebooted every time.

No real work is done in those rivers, mountains, forests or fields. Also, given how small Kattalox actually is, if they really did do anything with those areas, the resources would dry up pretty quickly. The primary purpose of colonizing that island at all must be the ruins. There's no benefit to living in such a remote island otherwise. It'd be one thing if it were a small village, but when compared to other towns in MML2, it's clearly a first world civilization.

What really bothers me is the lack of dedicated ports. Based on evidence from both games, travel by sea is extremely uncommon in this world, with the most normal form of transportation being airships. Yet there's no dedicated airship port.

You can see almost the entire island and yet there's no livestock either. No farmland. No edible vegetation. So clearly most of their food must come from imports, but I question how that could be sustainable.

Not exactly deplete, but how does an advanced indrustry even pops up?

Wasn't the purge halted for a long time? I don't think Juno actually mentions how long it's been since the last purge.

How big do you think Kattleox city vs its island is? By my reckoning with 20 houses there's probably no more than 140 people living there.

IIRC, Juno checks the population every 60 years, then decides if purge or not.
Kat Island probably deals with a lot of Guild business

I think a lot of this can be chalked up to ps1 graphical limitations making it unfeasible to model things to scale.
Juno mentions that Trigger woke him up a bit ahead of schedule which is the opposite of delayed, and then decides that since he is up he should go ahead and do it before going back to bed.

The game mentions that Kattelox was discovered 100 years prior, and the Refractors within the ruins only 60 years before the start of MML. So it's probably people from other places in the world that colonized it.

According to local legends, the purge still happens every century, although they think it's just a natural disaster.

Why the fuck do they keep living there?

Refractors and old relics are needed to keep society working and move it forward, its risky but worthy

It's slightly bigger than portrayed in game. You can see there's Another set of streets behind Apple Market.

Attached: MMLMiniKattelox.png (640x480, 37K)

I mean, someone would have records of an island that's rediscovered every 100 years and where everyone is killed by the same natural disaster everytime.

Well at first they didn't. The Master just put more on there to test them.

After the last purge other people had to rediscover and move back on. Thinking "Well there's already walls construction's half done!".

>tfw tiesel's voice actor is in jail because he likes to diddle kids.

Come to think of it, what caused the world to flood over? I don't think global warming was taken all that seriously back in the 90s.

At the time it wasnt specified, though ZX was going somewhere with that iirc. I didn't play those games but read the thread there is a lot of talk about it.

there's a lot that's not shown on the map, like the canals you get chased through on the way to the Lake Jyun

Probably the nukes and space colony

Still don't see any farmland.

ZX's 3rd game was likely going to go into that was during Capcom's 'fuck everything up' phase

It's funny how the world just keeps getting fucking worse and worse. Can you even still blame this shit on Light and Wily anymore? Given the widespread advancement or robotics, it seems like this shit was only a matter of time.

Okay guys. I know there's probably no answer here.

But wasn't Juno fucking locked up? Wasn't that the subtext of all of the research that the system had been shut down and Volnutt mistakenly activated it not just be going there and looking at it, but by Watcher, Sleeeper, and Dreamer keys? Which was then themselves locked in the isolated Sub-cities? Which where then locked by the sub-gates?

Wasn't a previous conflict between Juno and Megaman suggested to have happened, and that both had lost their memories? Since even Volnutt is vaguely familiar with the room he finds Juno in.

Does anyone know the actual scale of 2's world map? There's a scale in the bottom right but I could never make it out.

Which could be feet and it turns out everyone is Kirby-sized.

Also isn't this around the north pole? Pretty sure that flat maps don't scale well around there.

Its possible he already shut Juno down and locked him away before but it seems unlikely given the rest of what we know. Its just as likely that those keys are there because the units in charge of those areas left them there or something.

I think the painting was just to foreshadow the climax of the game, much like the key gathering is all very gamey in feel.

This. You gotta gloss over some of the story elements because Legends wanted to be a video game, first and foremost.

I think Juno probably would have reacted very differently than he did when he woke up if Trigger had locked him up to prevent him from doing his job. He didn't seem to think anything was out of the ordinary except the fact he was activated earlier than scheduled.

Lol no. The charm of MML is good even today. It will be a piece of shit if they remake them. Only thing needs to get fi
Yep. Looks like shit.

>At this point I wouldn't be surprised if fucking Glyde gets to the moon before Roll and Tron
Hey uhh guys: does anyone appreciate the fact that Bola can legitimately fucking teleport? A miracle technology that's existed since the 200x's? But seems to have gotten harder every passing year coordinators, and pads required until you basically had to transmit by wire?

Yet here Bola is, doing something that others in Legends can only do if they're Mother units or their servators.

Attached: Bola official.jpg (582x944, 141K)

If it's close to the scale of the real world it would make the flooded world thing from legends intro a slight exaggeration.

Megamanlet

Getting the saber fully upgraded in 2 was worse, it was a money sink AND you needed to complete a 100 question quiz gauntlet to get the required item to make it

>getting the upgrades in any game

They got REALLY carried away with this. Even if you use the King Miroc bug in the Pokte Ruins, it takes ten hours to fully upgrade JUST one weapon, longer if it's the shining laser. Now how the hell do they expect you to do that?

Yeah but the library had specific mentions of "Megaman". That wasn't just the art department. But yest, anything can be written off. This is from the golden age of dropped RE plothooks. I just feel bad about specifically disregarding the piecemeal discoveries in a game where you legitimately play an archeologist and find artifacts to give to a museum to discover in a mission to discover what happened in the past.

>I think Juno probably would have reacted very differently than he did when he woke up if Trigger had locked him up to prevent him from doing his job.
Data deletes Juno's personal files with his override code. If he decided to let Juno live, and lock him up: Trigger definitely would've done that too.

He ain't gonna teleport to the moon and die, Megaman wasn't teleported either, Yuna shoved him into a pod, then carried said pod to space. Its likely that the area where Trigger starts in Elysium has some sort of air lock

Bola and his fat friend were the worst part of the game. They just stand around spouting lame dialogue while MegaMan stands there silently until the cutscene ends. They just felt like pointless filler.

And it's a shit weapon anyway.

>Megaman wasn't teleported either
Yeah but Sera was. Gatz and Yuna were just spent so the one that still had a transforming body had to turn into a shuttle.

Perhaps Juno had his memories erased by Old Trigger

That's my main gripe with Megaman Legends 2. I clock in like 18 hours by the end but literally 15 hours of that was grinding for the upgrades because.

A. There's not enough game to really rack up monstrous dosh
B. Everything is so damn expensive
C. All the good exploits show up right at the end of the game where you have nothing to actually use the items on

By the way who the fuck finds a baby lying around and names him MegaMan?

Top tier themes tho.

It's got treasure.

It feels so weird liking someone's art while also being disgusted by their actions.

I give it a year or two before a MMLLC is announced, depending on how other Mega Man related releases get announced/worked on.

You're a decent human being user

I'm depressed someone just turned Misadventures into a full game with bare bones RPG elements and made a successful franchise.

Oh, thats what happened to him.

Absolutely the truth.

Hopefully they're not as fucktarded as the last time when they released them on PSP only.

He asks if Your (Trigger's) programming has become irregular, not if you ARE one. Ocean's dub changed a LOT of details. Swapping out "Irregular Hunter" for "Purifier Unit" and other workarounds for the rest of the X/Zero buzzwords.

I kinda like those moments in games where they ask you questions to see if you've been paying attention. Not like that though.

I approve of this idea

>Ocean dub
What?

It's pretty savage that Juno and any backup of his personality got fucking deleted from the system after his defeat. Data is fucking brutal beneath that adorable face and squeaky voice.

Data is literally Trigger, big dick irregular hunter supreme.

Correct, timelinefags can fuck right off

In a world where Wily and Sigma existed, can you blame him?

Reminder that, to build the Shining Laser, you find and use the X-Buster as a part.

This, if anything most artists earn their fame doing erodoujinshi.

Ocean Studios dubbed the game.

Charles Manson has an amazing song called Look at Your Game, Girl. It can be weird to appreciate it but even a lunatic can create something beautiful.

Heh, guess what?

What could they call Super Megaman Sigma?

...Smegma.

Heh hee lol

Carbons are bioroids created by the 'real' humans, which are the result of the line between humans and reploids being blurred completely, which is what gets started in ZX. You can think of the Master as the final result of humans and reploids merging, and Carbons as a new sort of servant or reploids, but of a different nature than System Units.

The Megaman cartoon exists in the MML world. Inside a bar in the first city of MML2, you see it playing on TV. I think Roll says that she got the name from this cartoon.

I read somewhere after ZX, things went to shit again and humans went to space, guess that was bullshit too?

The lore between ZX and Legends is scarce and often comes from dubious sources.
The bit about going to space is based on the Master being on the Moon and Turn A Gundam parallels.

Well shit, what does happens in Turn A Gundam anyways?

For me?
It's a threesome

i doubt it

Great taste.

Attached: RDASHSS007.jpg (1973x1579, 315K)

I'm just glad to be able to see an MML thread going on

The basic plot of Turn A Gundam is that there was a great cataclysm in the past that burned the earth to the ground, and mankind split into two groups: humanity who stayed on earth and slowly rebuilt it while forgetting about the past, and those who fucked off to the moon while holding onto all of their good tech.

Eventually, the Moonrace decides that they want to reclaim Earth and live there instead of the moon, and secretly send down a bunch of people including the protagonist to get used to the place before the rest of them come down to settle down officially. The protagonist decides to side with Earth to prevent a war breaking out, and finds the Turn A Gundam which is an ancient superweapon that evens the playing field between the Moonrace with their giant mecha that can level cities in a single shot, and the Earth militia who are operating with early 20th century level technology.

Without going into the later parts of the show, the series is about trying to prevent an all-out war from sparking between the two sides, while Earth continues to dig up old technology seen in previous Gundam series. It's a very unique series in style and tone that, while it helps to be familiar with the director's previous Gundam series, isn't required. While it doesn't have the same saturday morning anime feeling of Megaman Legends it embraces a lot of the goofier spirit of the director's earlier shows like Xabungle.

Honestly I like it better with Legends having its own terms.
Obviously they won't be.

>There's other girls but they don't have official art.

He's called Rock in the Japanese version, smart-ass. It's a clunky result of the localisation deciding to call him Megaman without putting any more thought into it than branding.

Turok, Sephiroth, and Dovahkiin would beg to differ. Or Dr. Marijuana Pepsi. People name their kids stupid shit in real life all the time.

They also start excavating mountains they believe to hold other old mechas that were buried by the cataclysm. Hence why zakus are around under a different name.

Copyright law is different in different countries, you don't incur the same risks releasing a product in every country. American copyright law is exceptionally awful.

iirc the whole thing is very silly because it goes something like.
-Rockman is released to NES in Japan by capcom
-Sony releases Rockman portable audio deck world wide, co-exists with game of the same name in japan because their laws arent retarded about this shit
-During localization Capcom realizes Sony can and may sue over Rockman branding so they rename him Megaman
-Sony Rockman flops hard and is all but forgotten before Megaman 2 is even finished

Fuck that quiz.
In the JP version it's general questions even toddlers would know. But Capcom decided to fuck over the west by making it pop culture shit NO kid in the year 2000 would know.

I don't think Panty and Stocking was a thing back in the days when I played it.

The point was the guitar burning at woodstock isn't something completely out of nowhere. It's a pretty common pop culture reference.

compared to the original 79 show and Zeta the conflict in Turn A is like a bunch of 4th graders playing with sticks

I thought the Master WAS Zero.

>Megaman Legends is peak bad 3D graphics
This

Zero was never a human

some of them probably DID fuck off to the moon or something since it's been hinted and implied that humanity wanted to get out of reploid range ever since the X series and even more in the Zero series

You ever feel sad that there's no happy ending in the robotics timeline?
Wily never got over his pettyness, had his redemption, and made good with light. His grudge drove him to make things that made more evil than he ever did himself in classics, which along with Light's contributions to the perpetual advancement of robotics kept putting the world at odds with itself because of viruses, it's own nature, wars, and all the like, leading to great suffering all around. I just wanted those two dumb old men to eventually be happy again in their lives but that's canonically pretty much impossible without retcons now. So fuck.

Legends is robotics timeline and Wily seems pretty content and laid back in it, probably because he finally got his wish of all the humans being exterminated.

How would you connect Legends to the main series?

Classic>X>Z>ZX>time gap>Legends

Big lore instead of actual gameplay ahead:

The thing is, Volnutt is basically the larval form of Trigger.
Trigger, before Sera fucked him up, would have been second only to The Master, who was akin to god. Sera and Yuna would be a very, very close second behind him.

The reason he seems so gimped in the Legends games is because he's essentially fighting the System's equivalent of desk clerks and office drones. Robots that do brainless activity with combat as a side-role. His machines and equipment are made from those robots.

Sigma being a badass wouldn't change the fact that Trigger, actually specced for fighting instead of bolting on bits and pieces of robot office workers, would wipe the floor with him and every protagonist that came before him.

X > Zero > Classic > ZX > BattleNetwork > Legends > StarForce

What happens to x in the zero games? I’m not a fan of zero and I’m getting close to completing x’s games and I don’t wanna play with anyone but him

>What happens to x in the zero games?
It's a spoiler if you're thinking about playing the Zero series

X, himself, stays to watch the world while Zero seals himself away, essentially the ending to X5. When Zero wakes up, X has made his version of Elysium called 'Neo Arcadia' and rules humanity/reploids with an iron fist, culling anything that doesn't fit his maverick-less utopia.
Then writers then pussy out and make the tyrant X into a copy. The real one was sleeping all along in Neo-Arcadia's core

So what you're saying is Volnutt is the Pickle Rick of MML MegaMen

>Trigger, before Sera fucked him up, would have been second only to The Master
Only because they were close, I doubt the Master had any real fighting ability at all.
>he's essentially fighting the System's equivalent of desk clerks and office drones
But he also fights people like Sera who have giant battle bodies that fought Trigger to a standstill.

I think he could take Sigma if he had full health upgrades and tanks and the proper digging equipment to fight with. The only reason Volnutt ever wins is quick thinking and Roll's tools, which is always enough.

He uses his own body as a seal for the sigma virus.

The other thing to remember is that Sera, even with the giant battle body, was still just Sera's larval form, as well. Both of them had to regenerate. However, Trigger, with just his crappy digging tools, was able to destroy Sera in an actual battle body.
We'll probably never actually know how insane the initial fight between both of them at full power looked like.

>Mega Man X6

>X5
X6
>pussy out
Shit taste edgy teen.
I kind of doubt that was a larval form for her, she seemed to be in good shape after a while. Got any proof?

Right, sorry.
>Shit taste edgy teen.
Nope. It would have been better if X decided on his own volition that was the solution the world's problems.
And he wouldn't be wrong. Look what happened the minute the copy fell from power.

Yeah but that led to ZX where there didn't need to be a distinction any more. You have to look big picture, together Zero and X effectively eliminated racism.

Why should we?

>I kind of doubt that was a larval form for her, she seemed to be in good shape after a while. Got any proof?
Just that she was found in a pod where she had been sleeping, as well.
And Yuna completely lost her body in the meantime, and had to go through a similar repair process. So we don't actually know what their original forms looked like. The only one from the System we see in-game who retained their original body without having to regenerate it was the flashback to the Master and Juno.

Attached: 1566118228701.png (152x254, 52K)

Was that really the original idea for X in MMZ? It would seem a bit cheesy for X who was the creation of a good guy to become the big bad and the world being saved by the creation of a bad guy.

Cubit Foxtar.

Inti made X a bad guy for the drama and Capcom said No so they changed into Copy X. Some "people" actually wanted X to go full Injustice Superman.

Why not?

I like what we got more honestly. It's much more interesting to me to see how X would've been without ethical testing.

Trigger as shown in the Legends games can take down Sera, a Mother Unit. Mother Units are considerably more powerful than Sigma. Sera and especially Mega Man as shown in Legends games, are presented in a younger form. Their battle, while they were in their "complete" (grown) forms, was considerably more destructive than what we see in the Legends series. Trigger is a purifier unit, (or Maverick Hunter in the Japanese versions), and is implied to be nigh unstoppable to just about anyone or anything. Their battle on Terra basically destroyed the planet when Trigger attempted to honor The Master's final wish. It took the full power of Elysium's Mother Unit to send Trigger into a period of sleep. None of the previous Mega Men and Zero certainly have that destructive capability, but not to the extent of Trigger.

Tl;dr: Trigger mops the floor with Sigma and everyone from the past because at his full power, only Sera could stop him. Sigma's viral program gets destroyed by Trigger's firewalls.

but death battle said he barely has any power!!!!!!!!!!!!

Death Battle usually only goes by what is shown in the games. And what we got in the games was a Trigger that is hardly as powerful as Classic.

>or Maverick Hunter in the Japanese versions
Odd that they changed it considering Maverick Hunter is a term that's used commonly in X.

>A bad guy
After the Elf Wars the planet basically turns post-apocalyptic and there's proportionally barely any humans OR Reploids left. And they're all trying to live in one place and there's a horrible energy crisis. Prioritizing Human comfort and needs over Reploids? Even though he isn't one himself I don't think X would do turn them into second class citizens unless he was really, really disillusioned by all the conflicts caused by Reploids over the course of his life, which they could have intended. But cutting back on energy use and at the very least stopping the population growth of Reploids outside of special circumstances is pretty reasonable, given the conditions they have to live in. The recycling center is a little much though.
I mean, you guys forget about the fat fuck Reploid in the resistance base you have to give a whole bunch of Energy Crystals to just so he'll move out of your way? But I admit that without Copy X Ciel's motivations for starting a resistance to begin with are thrown out of wack, unless she's the only semi-reasonable human in all of Neo Arcadia. Which she damn well could be, given the population at large is ignorant to the severity of their circumstances, and the human council are all morons as far as we know.
