flawed masterpiece, im not anal about everything working perfectly

I like the flawed masterpiece of wc3, but within that I preferred the simple but solid maps instead of the flawed maps which were attempts at masterpieces.

Flawed masterpieces are usually the games people still remember 10 years after its release.

I prefer a solid masterpiece

Simple but solid.

The new attack on titan games are more polished in nearly every aspect than the online fangame, but the fangame has smoother gameplay.

POST EXAMPLES OF BOTH

flawed masterpiece.
VtmB is a perfect example of this.

Flawed masterpiece every time

30fps
Blood grinding

depends on what the flaws in the flawed masterpiece are

fucking kek

Drag dog is a flawed masterpiece and I keep coming back to it despite its flaws. I think I prefer that because it tried to do shit differently and god willing there’s a sequel they can hammer out some of the flaws.

brown and grey : the game

Flawed Masterpiece.
It's a reminder that greatness is only a few steps away.

It really depends on what's flawed in the masterpiece. If the weak suit of the game is that it's gameplay is shit, i'll go with the Simple & Solid game. If everything from gameplay to performance is addicting but the game has shortcomings like weak graphics or really short length, then i'll go with the flawed masterpiece.

Depends on the mood. My favorite Flawed Masterpiece is DaS2 and my favorite Simple but Solid is Bloons TD 5.

I'm currently playing the game, just beat One Reborn. It's a cool game, but you have to admit the visuals don't look this great when the framerate is as fucked as it is.

I guess flawed masterpiece, while I like plenty of simple but solid games, I feel more bored and annoyed by something generic

What if the flaw isn't the entirety of gameplay or something but one mechanic or aspect? Like great addicting gameplay but one mechanic that throws a wrench into things when it comes up.

Only flaws I can name off the top of my head are how awkward and finicky it is to free yourself from shit like the sand in Maridia or those plants that try to eat you
Other than that I love every minute of this really short game

Based.

Are BB fans the single most obnoxious faggots on Yea Forums? They never shut the fuck up about how much they love the game and how it is supposedly a masterpiece. Then if you point out any of the flaws they accuse you of not playing it. It’s by far one of the worst Soulsbornes. I’d say on par with DaS2.

Games that are 10/10 in some areas but 4/10 in some others will always be better and more interesting than boring ass games that are 6-7/10 in every department.

Games that don't have major flaws in them always feel bland and lifeless to me. Games should have flaws, just like how people have flaws, it's what gives a video game its soul.

The entirety of Maridia is a flaw imho. Fucking horrible section. And it takes up like a third of the game

>flawed masterpiece
Ace combat zero
Burnout 3
Armored core 4/FA

>simple but solid
Ace combat 4/5/6/7
Burnout paradise
Armored core 2/3

I want more of the first category, but they're only good because the second category shows what we're missing. Soul.

Soul vs soulless.
I haven't played BB and even I know it's 10/10. About to rent a ps4 just for this game.

Cant a simple solid game be masterpiece?

It's FromSoft fanbase in general. They call every game a souls-like when some older games had similar gameplay like Blade of Darkness.

simple masterpiece

Define those categories.
I can name a few games that, by my definition, fall into both.

Simple and solid is so rare it sounds like a masterpiece to me. Get your flawed mastershiet outta my face, I can't tolerate cons

There are no non-flawed masterpieces

Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination

quiet, zoomer. you can't post her ejust yet

Name 1 flaw.
Preferably something that isn't nitpicking.

hollow knight exists making this game obsolete

>Flawed masterpiece
>AC4/FA
>above AC1-3

Flawed Masterpiece.
Compare Dark Souls to Cuphead.
Fug even Zelda to Mario.
The former, people talk about forever. and there's always that lurking, transcendant "what if?"

because you can mod them to perfection

flawed masterpiece any day, my favorite games of all time are flawed masterpieces

It really depends. If I like concept of the "masterpiece" then I can overlook the flaws. But sometimes the appeal of simple but solid game is that it succeeds at the important parts.

I'm a firm believer in the Japanese worldview of wabi-sabi.

>Flawed masterpiece
Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3/4/76
>Simple but Solid
DOOM

Attached: todd.jpg (225x225, 9K)

>extremely linear
>story and characters are bad
>hell is shit
>the final boss (on the non-hell route) is shit
>music and visual style are mediocre
>platforming is meh
>that gun that gets worse if you get exp is just poor design

Depends on the game, but usually flawed masterpieces.
I think the important thing is that it accomplishes what it set out to do, and the flaws aren't cripplingly bad. Nier had weak gameplay, but I don't think the gameplay was the selling point from the first place, and it's serviceable in the end.

>masterpiece
alot of people would say so
>simple
yes
>solid
yes, except when its flawed
>flaws
its simple
