It's perfectly understandable to want to see Kawase happy and draw her as such. Doesn't mean her real feelings and personality are nullified. There's a melancholy atmosphere that pervades all her games, even if it's subtle.

Because the devs are the ones that own Kawase. It's a Saizensen game with some Nicalis and other indie guest characters that's why over half the roster is Kawase and Code of Princess. Out of the three dlc characters only Aban is there because of Nicalis.
