Being left behind to die in the Praetorium literally doesn't even matter since people will start the boss in 10 seconds and you can just respawn and immediately teleport into the arena. You literally don't even lose time for it but people still get mad for some reason.
Even better when they start defending a sprout and then the sprout chimes in saying they don't even give a shit.

There's a general phenomenon in XIV where as soon as you queue into a dungeon, you get an intense feeling of not wanting to be there anymore, so people want to leave as fast as possible.

No, DRG and MNK are overtuned, SAM is "meh" at best.

It's easy to forget that a good percent of the current playerbase probably started after 3.0 and never did Crystal Tower when it was new, so the mechanics aren't burnt into their brains.

My favorite is getting World of Darkness and seeing people say Adds Belly Chains when the actual method back then was all DPS in. And then half the DPS from B Alliance don't even go in.

DRG and MNK should not be as strong as they are compared to other jobs with utility, they shit on BRD and SMN both pretty much their respective "Middle DPS middle Utility" jobs, not to mention MCH which is completely irrelevant right now.

SAM needs buffs but so do those other jobs and MNK and DRG NEED a nerf.

The worst I've had thus far (I'm not even at Shadowbringers yet, progressing through Stormblood's post launch content right now) was one guy who got extremely mad at someone for dying so much that he left in a dungeon.
It might be different once I get to lategame stuff, but so far I think it's been too nice. I was in a free company for a while for the EXP bonus and they were always cheerful and friendly in the FC chat to the point that it started to creep me out (+some really lengthy yet surface level conversations about topics that I couldn't care less about in an FC chat and only one person who was asking for ERP). When I left, I immediately (within 10 seconds of leaving) received a message by the FC founder asking why I left, when I didn't respond I got a message a minute later telling me to have a nice day regardless.

People just seem to forget that bringing a second MNK or a second BLM will result in higher gain compared to MCH/BRD + Bonus provided the MNK or BLM are good at what they do.

We're average players at most, only a couple of us even have purples and we usually range around blue-purple, outside of a really outstanding player and he plays fucking tank of all things. Our comp is pretty far-removed from the meta too. Only Leviathan was somewhat tough in DPS, but since mechanically the fight is pretty easy it wasn't even that hard to overcome.

He’s definitely a Chad, probably my favorite part of Stormblood. Was sad knowing that he’d be completely irrelevant for Shadowbringers, but honestly if that’s the sacrifice needed for Lyse to be irrelevant as well, so be it.

Same guy as Early in the dungeon I told him that most players have run Praetorium dozens if not hundreds of times, and every 10 seconds saved adds up over time. And that dying on the first teleporter doesn't matter anyway since whoever died can just respawn and teleport to the first boss.
He responded by telling me he only runs the dungeon a couple times a month so he doesn't give a shit, implying that he wants everybody else in the party to play to his specifications because he personally doesn't care for an optimized run.
I pointed out how self-centered his attitude is, which set him off and caused him to stop and say shit like DUDE DON'T TYPE YOU JUST WASTED TWO SECONDS, DON'T FALL BEHIND THE REST OF US YOU'RE WASTING OUR TIME BRO XD every 5 minutes
At the end of the run I was greeted with these messages which sent my sides into fucking orbit. FFXIV is the only game I can think of where people will get genuinely angry at their teammates for playing optimally and trying to save time.

3.0 to 3.3 is one of the best parts of the game and is filled with kino moment after kino moment, savor every minute of it

It's honestly a good idea to join mega FCs while leveling if you want to avoid weird shit like this. You can treat FC as a general chat while doing other stuff, and no one gives a shit if you leave for whatever reason. It's also not a bad setup for scoping out people you may be willing to keep in contact with down the line.

After our fc static crashed and burned and I suffer through savage with party finder with the limited time i have i finally managed to clear e2s today.

A few potency buffs for NIN and SAM while MNK gets deleted from the meta and DRG gets Chaos Thrust duration buffed to 30s
As much as I generally follow the philosophy of "buff, don't nerf" I don't think it works out well in a case like FFXIV. Handing out potency buffs like candy will only obliterate the difficulty of the current raid tier.

DRG needs Disembowel buff gone as it feels miserable in AoE situations and completely unnecesary since Chaos Thrust uptime is already crucial. Don't really care about MNK, anyone that can stomach such a miserable job deserves to be rewarded with good damage.

To be fair, I only levelled it because I had SMN at a higher level than BLM and levelling it unlocked the healer role quest with SCH.

Tbh SMN is pretty easy job for purples and oranges.

Just change Coerthan Torment to increase Disembowel time by 10s. MNK, SAM, NIN and even WAR have this effect built into their AoE combos, I really don't understand why DRG doesn't.

MNK got the 30% Slow effect on Riddle of Fire removed while only reducing the damage bonus by 5%.
This drove their DPS absolutely bonkers; clearly this change was made without much thought put into the long-term effects.
Reduce the potencies of their AoE combo a little bit then. I'll be fine with that if it means not having my autism driven up a wall because of Disembowel falling off.

Shittiest run of anything I’ve ever had. I felt like I was intentionally being trolled. There is no better way to piss a tank off than to try to set the pace of the dungeon for them.

It just feels clunky to me. The Aetherflow is only there for Fester and feels disconnected from the rest of the kit, dot duration isn't aligned with TD and its reset but Ruin scales with dots so you have to recast them manually and don't get Ruination, the Egi Assault feels like they're only here to grant you Ruin 4 stacks and can't be used when Bahamut or Phoenix are summoned, and going back to casting after a Trance feels like a de-power instead of a buff.
In comparison, BLM and RDM's kits feel cohesive and flow naturally (despite some old spells that you just ignore with BLM).

Should've just leveled DRG.

I think leveling them up is a quick way to burn yourself out. There are going to be some tough parts to get through in MSQ, most importantly post ARR.
You can still level them just as well after reaching max level.

I main PLD and I actively use HG when pulling, especially for huge ones like the start of Akadaemia.
10s of straight invincibility is amazing mitigation during trash pulls and in a good group mobs are 30% dead by the time it runs out.
In 3 years of playing i've never seen another PLD use HG during pulls like this and it bums me out.
MCH's only issue is ping shit. Otherwise it's a well-crafted job that flows pretty well.
NIN and SMN are actual clusterfucks and don't flow well at all.

My AoE rotations was on L2 but I swapped it. Probably will change it completely because I released that you can drop AoE skills on different R1 hotbar since you don't actually swap between them in raids

It's actually become more accurate than ever now that people who didn't fit the miqo and au ra archetypes fled to Viera and Hrothgar.
If anything I'd say the only one that's mostly gone is the ironic homo Roe, they're mostly Hrothgar alongside the completely clueless guy and the coolest guy in the group. Virera are mostly thots and crafting fags.

the concept behind shb SMN is pretty cool and I do enjoy playing it, but it lacks flow and is plagued by clunkiness. for me the main issues are as follows.

-Bahamut and phoenix not being able to cast enkindle while moving, and then eating the cast if they run out of time before they stop moving is terrible, it feels very clunky on a job that otherwise has a lot of freedom for movement since you have so many oGCDs that instantly cast.

-Egi assaults having a cooldown between casts makes double weaving hurt my soul.

-Messing up your rotation is incredibly punishing, and the only way to adjust is to just play unoptimally for up to 60 seconds.

It became too braindead and inflexible. Since the game is still government by the tyranny of the 1 minute buff window, you may end up needing to overwrite at least 1 of your sen to line up midare/tsubame with buff windows. The removal of old hagakure killed one of the few layers of depth the job had, since it used to be used not just for the Kenki, but to realign yourself with raid buffs without Sen going to waste.

Basically Samurai used to be much more priority order based but has been pushed towards being more rotational based like Dragoon, which clashes heavily with how SAM combos work.

They did but it got nerfed to 5 kenki per sen. but to make up for it you now have ishikoten which is free 50 kenki and yukikaze is now 15 kenki generation

it only generates 5 kenki per sen as opposed to 20 during stormblood, it's no longer part of the main rotation outside of extremely niche buff synch scenarios

do BLM or MCH, they won't let you down.

Baha+DWT is potential next expansion rework. It's great but SMN will be even more boring I think because right now we don't have enough skills.
