I didn't finish it but there wasn't much SJW shit at all but rather what SJW's claim to want and never actually do, which is having men and women of different races together doing things without race or gender ever mattering (The Expanse and Star Trek are other decent examples of this, a lot of sci-fi at least tries to go for that). Fuck you the sidequests are fun. Most of them have unique fights mechanics and mini-dungeons. Even the retarded henry quest has a cool and satisfying conclusion.

You can make a save right before you enter the dungeon and just figure out the puzzles yourself, no matter how long it takes, and just restart from the save you made (the game autosaves too), if you really care about beating Emilie after you figure out how to get through al the puzzles. Yeah, because it takes sooo much skill to switch to fire element against ice enemies, and it's so great to have a party member with mediocre dps boosted by elemental advantage bringing it barely on par with the raw DPS of actual classes.

Save before the dungeon and then reload if you need to. Ignore treasures and secrets though, you can always go back to the dungeon, but the race is one time only

And it's not that I would even care about beating her, it's just a compulsion, like there is this weirdly vague and adaptive idea of "perfection" that applies to things, and in videogames if there is say completely optional thing like "get there first and you'll have an extra line of dialogue praising you", then I just need to get it right or I literally can't have fun and everything feels horribly wrong to the point of extreme anxiety.

My favourite thing about this game is how well it captures the "your first MMO you played in your teens" atmosphere. There's a bunch of details that make it feel alive, for example when you get to out of the way areas you can sometimes find NPCs just /sit afking there, or how in the first few areas you have a bunch of people all running in the same direction, or the fact that they have their own pseudonym if you examine them

No other game has captured that atmosphere so well

Ice has a good counter skill and dash attack. Fire is pretty good all around. Lightning has a godly melee attack and block. Wave has a good block, a godly dash, a great beam attack, and constant health regen, but it's melee sucks.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, it's in an area around either the wave or thunder temple.

Health regen is the absolute best stat, and melee deals the most DPS because you can dash cancel your combo finisher which has insane endlag.

However melee is not available all the time, so ranged is still a good option.

As long as you have health regen you'll be fine.

Wave's entire purpose is saving your ass.

Ice is supposed to be the defensive element, but it's not worth using when Wave makes you unkillable.

Don't forget the guard art (I think it's a guard art) that makes you unkillable for a couple seconds and then makes you deal damage AND regen for the amount of damage you would have taken
