A real question is why did they make so many songs that almost no one is going to be able to hear? I know there is a ton of stages for them to play across but like 90% of the songs are locked in retarded in-game store mechanics and retarded playlists where 90 songs are dumped on 1 stage and are all set to play never at all. I know you can adjust these things by playing around with settings but the majority of people are not going to fuck around with this stuff when they just want to play the game when booting it up and if you ever go to other people's homes to play their copy the odds that you'll get to hear all that content or that they even unlocked it is zilch.

Gangplank Galleon and Crocodile Cacophony's amazing remixes are not enough to make up for this. Especially not when the rest is a bunch of Jungle Hijinx remixes and title screen themes, and that godawful remix of Snakey Chantey.

It's a different time. Back in the day Smash was working with the same tools everyone else was making their music with. Nowadays everyone is hiring big orchestras and studio musicians and you can't really do that with a 1000 track OST.

Ultimate is all about bloat. The roster, the music, the stages, the story mode and all. Their goal was obviously to just cram in as much shit as possible without being too concerned with quality so that they could brag about having 900+ songs or whatever.
