Why they never bothered to make a game set in the Pendulum Wars is beyond me since it was hinted that the COG were anything but saints.

Pretty much everything is confirmed in and you can see Paduk in the last trailer, he isn't confirmed officially but it's confirmed by this.

Retro Lancer is still in, they added in some new heavy weapons and a few more gimmicky ones.
They added in an SMG and an Auto-Pistol now, and I don't think they actually removed any weapons except one or two, Mortar I think.
How many are there? I know there's the Terminator ones and then Emile and the chick from Reach, are they going to add in Elites on the Swarm's side for Reach too?

The campaigns in 1-3 were great.

Co-op campaign was always great if you have buddies to play with, and I had a lot of fun playing horde in gears 3 and 4

Me, the original trilogy was great but everything went to shit after they changed devs, same thing for Halo.

They aren't, the Swarm are Locust corpses being animated by some kind of Immulsion residue. They have a rough semblance of the Locust hierarchy and a few of the monsters, but overall aren't nearly as organized or threatening.

I’d argue that Gears 1 was the only amazing -if very flawed- game. The others were “okay I guess” overall but were forgettable. Which is almost more offensive in this day and age. I’m going to get 5, but more out of obligation to my friend group than anything.

It's a decent game, a fair 8/10 imo and the campaign isnt too long (like 10ish hours)
I also thought it looked really good on the XboneX with a 4K tv. Just be aware it's the same ol' stuff, which is fine with me because unloading your machine gun at an enemy's face is always satisfying

i'm actually kinda hyped. i literally know nothing about the game aside from that one trailer they showed off like 2 years ago at E3 with that weird alien boss and that snow ship thing. i'm actually downloading gears 4 right now to update myself with the franchise because i haven't played gears for years and don't even remember the main story of the original trilogy because i was a literal kid when they came out and when i played them on my brothers 360.

After the tech test, not at all. They're just pandering even more to rifle babies. It's essentially just Gears 4.5 but with Core tuning in all modes. And wallbouncing has been gutted even more than it was in 4.

Why does Yea Forums consider Gears another cinematic trash 3rd person series? like Snoy movies. Gears was never even popular for the campaign. It's more akin to CoD and Halo, people play it for the multiplayer.

Getting it because I have game pass and hoping horde isn't wank. 4 was way too easy, every map had a hold out spot that sentry/weapon locker/razorwire spam made impossible to lose on. Most horde games in 4 end due to you or the team quitting because you're bored, not because you finally died.

Looking back Gears 4 kinda just seems meh in my memory. Hopefully this rekindles the Gears franchise.

I just finished the campaign, I really liked it, but my biggest problems were the difficulties, probably the hardest in the series, and the tower defense sections. Not my favorite campaign, but I would pur it above 2 and J.

Back in the Epic days they talked about doing a Halo Wars style RTS spin off based on the Pendulum Wars and Emergence Day but it never really took off internally. Tactics is going to take place around the timeframe of Rise Of RAAM and be part based on that so they are at least going back to that idea but can't see it if Halo Wars 2 (Which is a shame cause Halo Wars 2 plays like Red Alert 2 and is fun as fuck).
