the serious answer is that it refers to the traditional coat of arms of the empire, the eagle, and the black armor their troops traditionally wear into battle if you want to be that guy about it

I could see Jeralt and Sothis becoming playable, but Rhea doesn't make sense considering she's a major plotpoint of each route. She's a large reason you storm Enbar in 3 routes and the main antagonist of the 4th route. And the final boss of two routes.

Without some serious non-canon bullshit, it seems extremely unlikely Rhea will be useable.

Also I consider those awakening paralogues to be non-canon fanservice. Most of them are highly unlikely and your sister surviving seems outright impossible (how did she survive that fall, with her body going missing even though she fell into like the center of the battlefield and why did nobody seem to care her body was gone?)

I did BE first and as soon as the big tweest happened I wished I hadn't cos it didn't feel right to side with Jeralt's killer.

Honestly despite there being no canon route or golden ending, I think BL route where you have recruited everyone you can makes for the best scenario for Fódlan.

Allying with the Slitherers to take out the Church then turning on them seems dumber than allying with the Church to take out the Slitherers then wresting control away from the Church like Dimitri and Claude do in their routes

Not exactly sure how well Dimitri would take to the fact Edelgard is an accessory to the people that got his family killed user.

The war was inevitable. As stated the Siltherers essentially run the empire from the shadows until Edelgard takes the throne. If she makes any attempt to go off the rails from their plan to eradicate the church of Seiros she likely gets deposed and Arundel/Thales does that shit himself. Edelgard’s line of logic is “Might as well be the one in control for once after being a tool/guineapig for the entirety of her life and take care of these fuckers later”.

Maybe in some Golden route DLC the revelations made in GD’s route can be made apparent to her and she alters her view somewhat but otherwise conflict is inevitable

Caspar and Mercedes is locked into BL - as far as I know no other routes can get it. Ferdie and Lin are good since they've got paralogues with GD ppl. Recruit Petra too cuz she and Claude get along really well.

Sylvain for his lance is all I can think of. I recall that all the nobles in BE don't have relics for some reason so only recruit them for shipping reason. GD is a pretty stacked house so you don't need to fill any gaps like other houses.

In Fates character by the name of Gunter is meant to be retainer of Corrin who dies-but-not-really at start of the game. He appears to be generic loyal retainer pretty much as far as Conquest/Birthright are concerned, he is loyal old guy who cares about Corrin like everyone else. The real twist happens in Revelation in which Gunter turns out to be the villain who was planning to kill you since start.

The writing is very messy in lot of areas honestly. Edelgard in particular gets it worse because her route got shafted hard. Her entire route she is pretty much trying to rebel against slithers and then IS pulls dick move by having it done off-screen.

As I said, the worst part about her (route) is that she got shafted the hardest by IS. She keeps bringing slithers and who they must be dealt with and IS gives you a middle finger by ending the game after chapter 18 and dealing with slithers in some shitty ending credits.
Even Dimitri fought fucking slithers and slithers had 0% role in his route as BL didn't focus on them at all.

Assuming the same class progression, Leonie averages 3 higher Str, 1 higher Spd, 6 higher Dex, and 6 higher Def. However, Ingrid averages a whopping 16 higher Res along with 3 more Cha (and 7 more Mag, but that doesn't matter for Falcon Knight). Leonie performs better against armored enemies, but will get wrecked by mages. Ingrid struggles a bit against high Prot enemies, but completely wrecks mages. Ingrid is also slightly better at using Gambits.
