Ink physics are actually pretty easy. The points you get in turf war are the same units the game uses, there are only 2000-5000 of them depending on map (plus walls, maybe 5-10k overall points per map). If a unit is mostly covered, you get a point and it counts as filled. If not, it sends info about which splatter was used to reconstruct the small details on other consoles, of which there are a limited number of preset patterns for each shot type, some randomly rotated in 90 degree increments.
Bullet physics are deceptively simple too, all weapons but one follow "projectile flies dead straight for x frames with y velocity and then enters dropoff". Dropoff can be anything from usual "hello gravity" to blasters' airburst to just vanishing like charger shots. Buckets and rollers are the same except multiple projectiles in vertical/horizontal arrangement respectively and dropoff both triggers early and doesn't reduce velocity.
It's more complex but it's not CPU-heavy at all.
