So...it has everything BUT the SNES version of Aladdin?
Joseph Phillips
>digital eclipse YOU DONKEY
Cooper Carter
>rewind difficult areas >save and continue from wherever Lion King is literally like an hour long if that. Maybe 3 hours on first play through. What's the point of this shit tier 3000 supreme hand holding?
Ryder Phillips
>Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King includes the Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and Super Game Boy versions of Virgin Games’ Aladdin and The Lion King, as well as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version of The Lion King. It's half that
Hopefully they fix Lion King's level 2, that level was bullshit >inb4 pleb filter
Jaxson Thomas
So no Super Aladdin then, trash collection
Grayson Robinson
It's commonly accepted that the genesis Aladdin was way better than the SNES version.
Jordan Morgan
There are constant threads on Yea Forums about how people could never beat the lion king. I personally have, but there are a lot of shitters out there, user.
Jonathan Hernandez
Where the fuck is Goof Troop?
Christian Lopez
you should look at it as more of a means of preserving these games than anything.
Virgin Disney games were fucking awful. Great graphics and sound does not make up for bouncy, loose controls and bad hit detection.
Mason Harris
the art was made by disney's animators.
assuming Disnay still has the original assets on their archives, making HD versions of at least the big console versions of the games should be possible.
People only say this because there's swordfighting in the Genesis version and that the animation was signed off by Disney animators. From a game design standpoint SNES Aladdin is much easier to control and arguably more fair to the player.
Isaiah Bailey
Hm..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... I'm pretty sure Digital ecplipse has been working with capcom to make all of those collections they've been putting out. I wonder why the SNES verson isn't here... The genesis version is the one with the sword too, so it's not a violence thing.
I said this yesterday but i really hope this means they'll remaster those old ps1 disney games. A bugs life, tarzan, toy story 2, emperors new grove, atlantis, Hercules.
It'd be pretty funky though to have HD sprites and Genesis fart noises. It'd need to be done up from the ground floor like the GOAT Ducktales (hey look, Capcom making a great game and Disney ignoring it)
David Myers
/vr/ is taking their afternoon nap. It is time for us to settle this dispute once and for all.
>Why would I want to play 3 versions of the same game?
Their way to jack up the price
>Or is it like the first Harry Potter games that every version was drastically different?
They're not, just shittier versions. The Super Game Boy version is the exact same as the Game Boy version, but not black and white.
Parker Roberts
>increasingly large shadow of Miyamoto and ten lawyers dabbing looms over you
Jaxon Green
No idea. But I do know that Aladdin had a GBA port with SEVERAL new stages in it.
Brayden Hall
When both games were basic bitch platformers, having the better graphics and sound makes all the difference. They're not masterpieces, they're tie-in merchandise.
James Reed
Still better than 2019 remakes.
Isaac Cruz
I wonder if difficulty adjustments means easier or harder, I'd be interested in a Master Quest of Aladdin.
Jose Bell
Nice. The GB version of the The Lion King was the shit
Julian Howard
I was the target audience then as I played both as a kid and the Virgin game always looked and played terribly
Capcom actually tried with their games as their NES and SNES titles proved. The Mickey Mouse games on SNES by Capcom would be Mario tier classics if they weren't so tied to the license thing.
Sebastian Flores
They are masterpieces though. Platformers were the biggest genre back then. No game made Megadrives fly off the shelves faster than Aladdin and the other one was made by fucking Capcom at its height.
Angel Reed
Digital eclipse's founder gave a talk at GDC sometime ago He realizes that games are not easy to preserve and have available to everyone. He brought up the monkey island remaster and how it allowed you to switch between the new graphics of the game and the old graphics... but he pointed out how there were SEVERAL "old" versions of monkey island, not just the one. What if you wanted the CGA graphics , huh???
So I imagine the different versions are to preserve the vidyas.
>So I imagine the different versions are to preserve the vidyas.
Okay, but $30 for two games? Fucking seriously? Disney Afternoon Collection is 10 times better as it's six good games with no filler. (Oh, but virgin loving Yea Forumsirgins won't admit that here.)
Ethan Collins
I just went back to an olg EGM magazine to read their review of Aladdin on the NES and Gameboy.
The NES review is like "nigga is you smoking crack? A fucking NES game in 1993?" and doesn't offer much else. I guess only faggots didn't own a SNES back then. The gameboy version got similar low scores but seems somewhat different.
Easton Davis
Isn't it already? There's a collection of their random NES games on PS4 that I've seen
Christopher Murphy
GENESIS DOES
Chase Wilson
Sword combat was wack, he didnt use one and being more acrobatic was more fun
Surely Switchtards are the ones complaining about lacking the shitty SNES game
Justin Cox
>No game made Megadrives fly off the shelves faster than Aladdin You're only technically right. Aladdin moved consoles because it was part of a promo where they were giving you two free games for buying a Genesis. I picked that and Sonic 2.
One of my most vivid memories from my childhood is that we rented the game when I was in kindergarten and I spent the entire day hyping it up to my friend who had just seen the movie until he started to cry, because he wanted to play it so bad.
Wyatt Lopez
And even Disney Afternoon was hit or miss with its lack of SNES Bonkers and Goof Troop
Lincoln Miller
>difficulty >Aladdin It had shit controls and bad level designs, it was never a "hard" game. 10 year old kids finished that game, if you couldn't you might have a brain tumor or some mental shit to be diagnosed.
Gavin Kelly
Wasn't goof troop a shitty block-pushing puzzle game?
Ryder Taylor
Because Capcom made it. Quick we need to assemble the MCU retards to bomb capcom's offices.
Thomas Reed
Because it's not a Digital Eclipse and Capcom thing. It's a Disney and Capcom thing. And Capcom is in a better situation than whoever the fuck owns Virgin interactive now, so making a deal with them is probably harder and Disney probably doesn't want to compromise just so they can make it a part of this bundle.
Now I didn't watch much goof troop because goofy is a fucking bum but I scarcely remember there being much pushing of blocks in the adverts.
Brody Bennett
>Capcom never put this on the Switch >A collection of literal NES roms was put on everything but the Nintendo system If you want anymore proof Capcom's Switch support is unbelievably bad, there it is
To be fair, that specific level absolutely is shitty design.
Parker Morris
Imagine being too dumb to get goof troop
Anthony Perry
this is corny lo.l
Logan Thomas
It's digital eclipse. Their ports are so bad, they can't even get the color palette and sound to work right. You don't want that collection.
Oliver Long
>no SNES Aladdin
Yeah, no. That just ruins the whole thing for me. I'd buy this shit in a heartbeat if the SNES version of Aladdin was included.
Don't think that matters. It's 100% a Disney property. I doubt Capcom has any rights to it whatsoever.
Andrew Diaz
It's just some unrelated game that they slapped goofy's face on.
Volkmire's Inferno or Rug Ride?
Ian Howard
>Available on every platform >MUH SWITCHTARDS obsessed.
Thomas Harris
Hm. Still have the old Genesis carts to these. Nostalgia.
Hudson Sanders
>Monster Hunter leaves Nintendo >It's the biggest and best selling entry in the entire series' history
They really don't need Switchers.
Brody Scott
When I think of the kind of person to buy a lousy ass collection like this or bad ports in general, my mind goes to Switchers, and there's precedent for this
>It's just some unrelated game that they slapped goofy's face on.
There's an episode where they go to Hawaii to renew Pete and Peg's vows, and there's a part with a volcano, anyway, it's pretty similar to that episode.
Jonathan Parker
>Linking Kotaku You needn't say another word
Elijah Carter
Shut the fuck up Boco
Ethan Wood
Another shitigal eclipse port Stop giving them work
Carter Thompson
>I can't play
Henry Martinez
When has that ever stopped them before? Capcom invented milking shit for all it's worth.
I mean the 3DS had 6 separate fucking monster hunter games. How much of a braindead fanboy would you have to be to buy 6 MHs on one handheld?
>I doubt Capcom has any rights to it whatsoever. Disney owns the rights to the characters, Capcom owns the rights to the work in which those properly licensed characters appear. Basically either company can block the other from re-releasing it, which is usually circumvented by bags of money.
Camden Smith
Yeah both posts are me and I'm responding to someone who quoted me. Good job, detective dipshit with the reddit image.
Ethan Turner
Of course I do. Even if Capcom was involved it'd just be yet another old port for the system
Angel Sanchez
Do they? Do they really? Given how much they interfered with Kingdom Hearts 3 and what's currently happening to Star Wars games?
Nicholas Perez
Genesis had sword play, and Blast Processed versions of the movie songs.
Aiden Carter
I regret even buying one.
Jaxson Wright
fuck off Kotakufag
Jason Martin
Super Game Boy is the exact same thing as Game Boy and they're both just butchered versions of the console game, stop acting like this is a perk. You must be Nintenhomos
>Oh boy, I can't wait to play shitty handheld games on my handheld
Justin Robinson
The reason they can underbid was because they have buggy collections there is a reason the mega man collections after the first aren’t done by them they can’t make a good emulator
