There is no "first one". Prey 2006 and Prey 2017 have absolutely nothing to do with each other. They have literally zero connection. Prey is basically System Shock 3, but they didn't have the rights to System Shock 3.

I bought the first one second hand for xbox360 from a shop and it was the French version in the case and it didn't run on my Xbox because of region locking REEEEEE!

Prey was so focused on being modern System Shock 2 that it forgot to have an identity, it's a decent game but very forgettable, its best thing is the gameplay but doesn't really get a chance to shine.
Mooncrash in the other hand, takes full advantage of the excellent gameplay of Prey and gives you reasons to exploit every system in it, and it's fucking Fresh.

First one was a decent FPS that suddenly became a classic due to sheer shitposting potential when Bethesda tacked the name on an unrelated game. Fuck you.

It’s far and away the best of the System Shock 2 successors but it still isn’t as good as SS2.
That’s not really a huge complaint though. Immersive sims are hard to make.

Mooncrash is easily-exploitable rogue-lite trash.

it was great, I enjoyed how much it felt like a simulated environment a long with the pretty interesting ethical dilemmas. it had really good art design as well, that one guy who created a diorama/model of a seaside with clouds and projected it onto those 3d computer monitors was a really great moment. the game was full of environmental storytelling like that.

I wish it did more with the enemies and went further in the sci fi horror direction like ss2.

I don't understand why people hate it, it's amazing, you're free to approach situations in various different ways, there's variety for builds, the exploration feels rewarding when you find cool chipsets, it's spooky when you never know what object might suddenly attack you

Despite what they tell you, you can't actually choose whether you're a man or woman. You are what you are. Any game that gives you a "choice" is tranny propaganda. Prey should be boycotted and removed from Steam, it encourages kids to mutilate their genitalia.
