Im excited to play this GAME

me too. i loved playing the japanese version. now it will be on ps4 in english oh my god.

I'm not. It really doesn't recapture the feel of playing PSO or even PSU late at night with some random guys and just talking shit while grinding.
Everyone just wants their loot and to go back to their rooms to take more lewd pictures of their slut.

me too.

I love Rappies.

This picture is five years old.

never played a phantasy star game tell me about it.

im excited for another round of western sega incompetence with pso/psu and all the inevitable bitching that will come from it
it will be good schadenfreude

Why?
>will be missing 90%+ collab and cosmetic content
>Will be administrated by Sega of America which has botched and bungled both PSO and PSU in the past
>Will likely not give third world trash like BRs, Peruvians, Russians, French and other perennial cancers of online gaming their own containment servers, meaning you will be forced to interact with them
>locked to Windows 10 for no legitimate reason when the original version runs on XP

Just play the JP version, international version is too little, too late and will be dead within a year if not sooner.

I am i'm just hoping its not too cringe. I want a good, sci-fi mmo with fun classes and decent combat/gameplay loop I can just spend time with. if it's full of shitty waifu and pedo shit and advertisements and weird japanese sponsorship deals like noodles and stuff I probably won't get as immersed into it.

lmao dude this is waifu dress up with advertisements up the ass - the game.

>locked to Windows 10 for no legitimate reason
Source?

This.
It feels like it was just yesterday that I was playing the beta on the jap servers. It was fun especially at first but with each new cosmetic MTX release the game started to feel more foreign to me. Given, I was a legitimate foreigner but still. Gameplay quickly delved into being about just idling or quietly doing runs.
Honestly Ill probably pick it up, get tired and go back to Ephinea's server for PSOBB since a community of 100 with actual sense of community is better than thousands of NPCs.

>sci-fi
barely.
>mmo
barely.
>fun classes
all classes are fun except summoner and hero
>decent combat
yup
>gameplay loop
not quite
> if it's full of shitty waifu and pedo shit and advertisements and weird japanese sponsorship deals like noodles and stuff I probably won't get as immersed into it.
I have a feeling you already played it.
It's exactly full of waifu shit and advertisements, japanese sponsorship deals (LAWSON, Shimamura, Don Quijote, Famitsu, Butakimu noodles, and numerous anime / video game collaborations)

guarantee you a bunch of people excited for this will just play for a month at most
so longevity from the server isnt even an issue in their minds

Already played it, it’s just alright. Stopped playing when the group I was playing with imploded and the group owner got obsessed over my toon.

Unfortunately PSO's combat, style, and gameplay design is some of my favorite parts of all the games Ive played. Can't find a dungeon crawler that I like more. But I hate the waifushit.

PSO2 combat is completely different from PSO

>will be missing 90%+ collab and cosmetic content
the most likely outcome is that it's a separate ship/server powered by azure, in the now existing japanese launcher, rather than being it's own version with its own launcher. If it's the former then there's no worries about that point.

pso2 already allows cross-platform play between pc, ps4, vita and switch.

Ive played both, im just saying in a vague terms of combo styled action.

Me too. I flipped my shit in the best possible way when it was announced.

its too bad there no longer is an official sega forum
it was hilarious seeing the retarded excuses the admins gave sometimes

I just want something decent to play for a few months, man. Why you gotta be like this.

How long do xbox timed exclusives usually last?

It looks nice
do you think i'll like it if I adored xenoblade chronicles x

It’s not exclusive.

Is it going to have that new star robot class from the jp version or is it goi g to be five years for that as well?

There’s a section of the game where you pilot mechs apparently.

Its a timed exclusive

Your mileage may vary, I liked it enough to pour 1.1k hours into it on my main.

However, about what said, it's true, but the controls in A.I.S (PSO2 mechs) can feel super clunky. Especially if you try to compare them to how Skells in XBX controlled.

I remember playing PS on PSP. Is this drastically different?

From what i understand all content will be available at launch. Phil Spenser said something like that in an interview with giant bomb fat guy.
Nice reading comprehension

>no europe
What do they mean by this, wont I just be able to log into the US servers?

Maybe Microsoft is only hosting the servers in north America and soneone else will do it for europe? No idea how that stuff works, but i would assume you could log in yhe same way as folks have been playing the JP versions

I really fucking hope so.

presumption being whatever amount of collabs rights they did manage to get in the western version they only bought them for America
so it will only be officially released over there but no doubt you will be able to log in from eu just they will never officially talk about it

I would have been excited 7 years ago.

>XBOX
WHAT the fuck are you (the devs) Doing

Fuck off Euros

>SEGA finally decides to release the thing people wanted 8 fucking years ago.
>Everyone who wanted to played it played it already on the JP server.
>Probably won't get any of the collab shit that JP got.
What the fuck is wrong with SEGA?

Doesn't the game have like two years left on the roadmap in JP?

they probably only expect the western version to be up for a year or so anyway

When the game was released they always talked about a 10 year content plan.
That was before PSO2 really took off and became a hugely popular money making machine that single handedly funds Sega though. They haven't mentioned anything of the sort even once since, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had long since made plans to keep producing new content for way longer than those initially planned 10 years.

they never really talked about that with psu either until pso2 was announced then when it was released they immediately closed the jp psu servers while it still had content planned and told everyone to fuck off to pso2

I liked the anime until episode 5. The slice of life stuff was comfy.

Yeah, but PSU didn't quite literally print money.
PSO2 is the most profitable game Sega's ever had by an absolutely ridiculous margin, simply shutting it down and hoping everyone will jump ship to PSO3 or whatever would be a gigantic risk.

The trailer and an interview said all content will come, so i guess we'll wait and see.
>PSO2 is the most profitable game Sega's ever had by an absolutely ridiculous margin
Thats crazy that beibg the case, its taken this long to localize it
>simply shutting it down and hoping everyone will jump ship to PSO3 or whatever would be a gigantic risk.
Sega isnt very smart

Way back in 2013 or so, they showed gameplay in english, so did they just give up localizing it or what? Does anyone know?

>Thats crazy that beibg the case, its taken this long to localize it
the profits are from all the collab shit drawing people in, dont be thinking its purely the game on its own merits
something that requires rights to do and gets more expensive and fucked the more countries are involved

Yeah, it makes an absolute boatload of money.

During one of their live shows they talked about PSO2 single handedly saving the Yakuza franchise and gave a huge thank you to the community for example.
Yakuza has pretty much always run at a huge loss with how much they invest into it, and back when Zero was being worked on upper management wanted to straight up axe it since it just wasn't profitable whatsoever. If it wasn't for all the PSO2 money most likely none of those more recent games would have ever seen the light of day.

Sounds pretty similar to FFXIV's situation at SE. Makes them ridiculous amount of money but the game itself sees absolutely nothing of it and is kept on a shoestring budget while it's funneled to all sorts of other projects.

FFXIV is a strange situation, at first it almost bombed the company because of its monumental failure.
Then after funneling 90% of the company's resources into it, SE saved the Final Fantasy name for ARR.

>Will likely not give third world trash like BRs, Peruvians, Russians, French and other perennial cancers of online gaming their own containment servers, meaning you will be forced to interact with them
hope you're not some german bong burger spanish or sea trash
