Is the Switch version of Skyrim worth getting if one has literally no other way of playing it? I've never played Skyrim before and I want to see what all the fuss is about.

If you have no interest in modding the game, yes - it's fine, it's an odd combination of the base game and the enhanced special edition assets + all the dlc, the only downside I found personally for this version is the draw distance for the grass is a bit low and it's priced higher because "portable tax" but otherwise it's Skyrim.
No, get PC or console, my friend got it on his switch and said the bugs were 10x worse I’ll list a few that I remember
>unfinishable glitched quests, something that happens on all platforms but was much worse on switch
>environments and certain draugr dungeons didn’t load properly, couldn’t complete sections with puzzles due to gates being broken etc
>followers would just disappear after dismissing them, couldn’t be found
>character won’t absorb dragon souls
He said a bunch more but those are the most noteable ones,
Just buy on console or PC and mod
Sounds like average Bethesda
I don’t think any Bethesda game is worth getting without tons of mods to fix their lazy ass game.
>or console
fucking disgusting, Skyrim should only ever be PC because of the mods - the only way to make the game enjoyable.
The lack of mods isn't really an issue that's on my mind. I can get why it would matter to someone who's played this game twelve billion times but I haven't played it once so, yeah. I can live with the grass thing, and the Switch version is actually slightly cheaper than the average price in my country, about 55 euros when the average is 60.
>Just buy on console or PC and mod
I said I literally don't have any option. I don't have any of the other consoles it's on, and my PC is a piece of crap that couldn't run it. My options are play it on Switch or don't play it at all.
I thought it would make sense to experience the game unmodded at least once.
skyrim is poorly optimized on consoles, it's had game-breaking bugs on every console platform. Difference is on PC you can fix those and easily workaround them, but if they happen on a console you're fucked.
So I guess I'm not playing it at all then. Isn't Witcher 3 coming to Switch too? That's another big sandbox RPG game I never had an opportunity to play. What are the odds it has the same problems?
TW3 had poor performance in novigrad on other consoles, although apparently performance isn't as bad on switch since they downgraded it so much that it's basically lower than low settings. Make of that what you will, I guess.
You're never going to have the ""flawless"" experience Yea Forums thinks seems to exists thanks to their 1000-list long mod loader, just buy and enjoy the game as everyone else did back in 2011 and see what all the fuss was about
I've never really been one of those graphics whores who won't play a game if you can't see the pores on the main character's face. As long as the game doesn't look like Aidyn fucking Chronicles, I'm good.
>1000-list long mod loader,
How many of those are porn mods? Probably more than half.
Less intrusive mods like bug fixes, crash fixes, skyUI, quick loot, and mild graphical enhancements do absolutely nothing but enhance the game so that's not particularly the case here.
If I had the option to play Skyrim with mods that's probably where I'd start. I wouldn't use any mods that drastically change the game world until I finish my first playthrough. Makes sense, right?
Buy it for the Switch, user. You know you want to.
Play Morrowind.
Skyrim is a horrible overrated pile of shit game. There is no reason to play it on anything but pc with improvement mods. You will soon even be able to play oblivion without potato faces and retarded looking plastic armor.
If it was on the Switch, I would. Again, my options for the time being are "play it on Switch" or "don't play it at all".
Play it on your toaster
skyrim is unplayable without mods, if you're not playing it on pc there's no point
and dogshit skyrim mechanics I presume
Reminder, kids: hating popular things doesn't make you an interesting person.
Skyrim is unironically one of the best games ever made. Choke on it.
things being popular doesn't make them good
go back to eating shit
Don't bother.
It is one of THE most overrated pieces of trash, and one of the worst TES games.
Skyrim was never good in the first place
