Composite cables on dark ass CRT screens, zoomer
ps2 on small CRT screens looked beautiful
Because graphics were just starting to get good
CRT.
We did notice the jaggies, but they weren't as bad as the jaggies before so you were happy. It's a "you had to be there" kind of thing
Because it looked amazing compared to what came before.
We knew that they were there and we didn't care. PS2 graphics looked amazing.
We did we just weren't the gen that needed to consult digital foundry to make sure we were getting every blade of grass first. These days gamers are more obsessed with watching their frame counter on screen than playing video games.
Because videogames were all about how fun they were not how they looked.
One, TVs weren't nearly as high definition as they are now. Two, PS2 games looked much better than what came before.
do not underestimate CRTs
Why didn't people back in the days notice the jaggies in Xbox 360 games?
Too busy having fun
how many kids actually used component cables for the PS2?
my dad got me a scart cable for christmas and I never used it because the RF cable I had worked fine
I didn't understand what it was for
We did, but it was normal. Not even just normal, it was THE norm. It was industry standard. We didn't complain because it was about as good as things could be.
Compared to the composhit everyone was used to before, playing games over HDMI in HD resolutions was like looking through glass.
Kind of like how you'd never know sex feels better than jerking off with a handful of thumbtacks unless you experienced it. It was good enough and we weren't spoiled yet.
Because the 360 had fake ray tracers in 720pp
because thats what people were used to seeing and it was definitely a step up from what people saw compared to the ps1.
back then people enjoyed playing video games instead of spending all day being graphic fags.
People did, it was just how PS2 games looked like.
this, motorstorm looked photorealistic to me (at the time)
I remember being distinctly amazed by this segment in the opening level of Ratchet ToD.

Now you play the game again and it looks like shit, the whole game looks super bland and the texture quality is pretty damn low at times. But in 2007 I was amazed.
At least it still runs well.
They did. They made jokes about it.

everybody noticed.
nobody cared.
I was fortunate enough to have a KV-27FV300 with component and optical audio for my PS2. Shit was great.
They did. I remember people talking about jagged edges in the early 00's on forums.
sup zoomer. Mix a ps2 with a crt and you get no bad picture quality. also mix a ps2 with a small crt like a 15' and you get seemingly crystal clear graphics does
in any case zoomers better not act too graphical elite when all they do is play a ps2-tier looking game upscaled to 1080p
much higher quality however the SCART was better than the composite Euro-AV.
Can I output a signal to two different devices at the same time without discrepancies yes or no
