Daily reminder this is one of the best Classic Mega Man games, and people rarely give any valid criticism for why it isn't
>B-But the sprites are big!
I said VALID criticism.

I have nothing bad to say about 7, but man that last Wily fight.

Also best song youtube.com/watch?v=6AFyf-uykMY

People also can't say why it's so good, M&B is better

Best taste. Not my favorite game, but it's still fun and its Wily Stage 1 theme is one of the best songs in the series.
MM&B is awful.

7's pretty great. A lot more people appreciate it these days.

My man!

I enjoy it but I think it's on the lower end of the Classic series. It's not that the sprites are big so much as the largeness makes it hard to judge jump and ledge distances which can be pretty frustrating. As stated above the last wily boss is also the worst thing in the entire series.

Why the hell is Mega Man and Bass never on any collections? It's like they just don't want to officially give us a translated SNES version for some reason.

the game was released on GBA, so there's an official translation.

THE SPRITES BEING BIG AFFECTS THE ENTIRETY OF THE GAME'S LAYOUT, ENEMY DESIGN AND PLACEMENT, AND THE MOMENT TO MOMENT GAMEPLAY

HOLY SHIT YOU FUCKING RETARD WHY DO YOU THINK MARIO WAS SO SMALL IN SUPER MARIO WORLD

>Best level design on the main series
>Sub-weapons are also the coolest
>New stage progression gives the game an actual difficulty curve, whereas most megaman games are forced to have the same level of challenge on all the stages
>Being able to play as Bass kicks ass, and it makes the majority of the stage easier while making the bosses harder, which keeps a nice level of challenge for both characters
>Being the hardest game on the main series is the best pleb filter
>The bosses don't become a joke if using their weaknesses
Literally the only valid criticism is if you played the GBA version

it's not capcom's fault you're retarded. the controls are just as tight as they were in the previous 6 games, and the sprites being big doesn't really affect anything. they're bigger and more detailed, but the increased size has never proved problematic for me. if some sprites being bigger than what you're normally used to is such an issue then you should probably get yourself tested.

"WAHHH I DON'T LIKE CHANGE I DON'T LIKE CHANGE" is what this "criticism" boils down to most of the time.

Because the game was designed with a bigger screen in mind.
It's not like they made MM7 first in the Classic engine and then remade everything on the SNES and purposefully make the sprites bigger you idiot.

>game was designed with a bigger screen in mind.
?????

just finished replaying 7&8, why does everybody hate the latter so much again?

subpar soundtrack and sound design in general, abysmal english voice acting, forgettable robot masters, piss poor stage design, JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE JUMP SLIDE, the megaball exists

Things taking up twice the space more or less halved the potential for intricate level design. Platforming sections in 7 tend to be much less involved as a result.

>subpar soundtrack
Retard
>abysmal english voice acting
Maybe but who gives a shit
>Forgettable robot masters
Retard
>JUMP JUMP SLIDE SLIDE JUMP SLIDE
10-year-old me had no trouble with that after some tries you imbecile

8 is a slower paced game due to heavily integrating item usage into stage design. Made it sometimes feel more like a gimmicky puzzle game than an action platformer in spots. I don't hate it, I definitely like it more than 7, but I wouldn't call it the purest Megaman experience either.

>the sprites are big

I think I know what the miscommunication is here. I grew up with a Super Nintendo, I played all these games, but I realize today that maybe what puts people off mm7 compared to the first 6 is the sluggish game feel of the snes. There is this quality of sluggishness with some games on that system.

>what's 2+2?
>don't say 4

Fish.

Daily reminder that even the best “classic” Mega Man game is a 5/10 at best.

7's the worst and it's a 6/10. They're solid as fuck games.

>it's not capcom's fault you're retarded
huh, yes it is?

>Because the game was designed with a bigger screen in mind.
shouldn't the sprites be SMALLER then?

The game sold over 1 million with the budget of a ham sandwich. You're out of your mind.

>X7>X6

lol

Aside from the enemies being a little lemon spongey I felt like it was the perfect mix of the improvements X had made while not abandoning what made the originals great. The Wily fight was also fun as fuck when you finally understood his attack pattern.

I dunno, I've never played this one and I had to look it up on youtube, and the sprites really are kinda large. I guess it makes them look more detailed but it seems like it would totally feel claustrophobic.

I thought it was mostly because people didn't like that it wasn't a MMX game?
But then the X series went to shit, and people started appreciating VII as a good classic Mega Man.
