You'd be surprised at the shit people can keep as pets with a permit. And hell, in this case it's more of a "had its shots and isn't carrying any disease" certificate, domestic camels aren't forbidden in the US in most rural areas any more than llamas or alpacas.

I mean, seriously? Nearly their entire catalog. Even the few iffy ones like Stretch Panic are still good for a giggle, and the DS version of Bangai-O which is very very stripped down compared to the DC one but still retains the core action. Treasure is the gold standard in vidya.

What I really loved about Mischief Makers was just how much they were able to do mission-wise with such a simple string of mechanics. One level you'll be having a scavenger hunt looking for lost kids, later you'll be steering a giant missile throughout the whole stage, then you'll be having a boss battle that's just a dodge ball fight with a talking cat.

I extracted some of the voice clips from the ROM, but then my hard drive died. They needed work anyway, the program I used to extract the audio exported them in the wrong frequency or something so I had to adjust the speed in Audacity and guess what the correct setting was. Silly user, you're not allowed to talk about any game that isn't owned by one of the big publishers, and even then you're only allowed to talk about whatever is perceived to be the genre frontrunner. On a more serious note, when we started getting a few obvious shills several years back it triggered a kind of auto-immune disorder in discussion, where anyone talking even slightly frequently about anything that was not 100% mainstream is immediately feared of being a shill. I think Treasure own Radiant Silvergun, Nicalis have their grubby hands on Ikaruga now I believe, I know they were partly involved in the new ports. Mischief Makers was Enix, so probably Square Enix nowadays. I think Sega have a lot of their stuff like Alien Solider and Gunstar Heroes though.

There is one thing to keep in mind though. Depending on how much you want to go for S-times, you'll need an actual N64 controller because you need the c-buttons in conjunction with the d-pad to reach max speed for a lot of situations.

That said, I think the first question before even that has to be what the setting will be. While they could just do it on planet Clancer again, I don't think it should and depending on what sort of world the trouble pops up at the types of levels that make sense would be vastly different from what we saw in MM. Imagine it's a world where Theo is well-known, for the collateral damage his help usually causes. There could be a stage arc where you're trying to get things done but the space cops start chasing Marina. You have to avoid them on top of completing the stage, while the "accidental" damage you cause their vehicles and equipment only makes the problem plot-wise worse.

Probably because treasure is really highly overrated. Mischief Makers, Gunstar Heroes, Ikaruga, and Sin & Punishment are like their only good games. The rest of them just feel like really high quality Chinese pirated games.

Only boss that I really didn't like was Merco's second fight. Trying to get the gold gem on that level (beat the boss without taking a hit) was tedious.

This game is surprisingly well known considering how little anyone gives a shit about it.

Yes, its got a well done mechanic that is explored in the game quite alot.

I got really stuck on Sasquatch Beta for a while because I didn't realize you had to grab his foot, pull it back, THEN up, THEN down before he catches himself to actually hurt it.

It is honestly one of my top 3 games. The story is ridiculous in the best possible way, the characters and scenery are fun, the gameplay is very tight with platforming and using the grab/shake/throw mechanic not just for combat but also problem solving and platforming.

I don't think I ever understood how the regular Beastector minibosses worked. I beat them by blind, stupid luck.

Forgot to mention, since the thread is dying I'll put this here. Didn't mention it before since I didn't want to be seen as shilling. There is a game on steam that has a very similar play style to mischief makers, similar puzzles and platforming. Its called grapple force rena, you use a grappling beam similar to bionic commando to swing around for platforming, but can catch and throw like marina. Game has a demo, its pretty fun if a little short.

Ah, yes. The game's very obviously based on Mischief Makers, yeah. The level select screen is a giveaway. Also it has the best final boss theme ever.

It controls pretty well, but get it on sale. Too short really for $15, but fun.
