Boomer.

t. gamed on an NES, PSX, and PC in my childhood

They all have their unique flavor that some part of the collective consciousness will miss when it goes out of style. Average objective quality peaked sometime within the center of the chart, but every generation has its standout games.

I think the only people who owned a Wii U were boomers.

>in-between boomer and millenia
1990's here

Just call it PS1 you dumbass contrarian

Gameboy is not ancient. Neither is NES.

What? It wasn't called PS1 when there was no PS2-4. You idiot.

zoomer

It's called PSX, sweetie.

boomer/millenial midpoint or zoomer

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(digital_video_recorder)

It was literally called PSX back in the day. It's not contrarian if that's how I've always abbreviated it.

Boomer if they're not jaded and can recognize bad gameplay. A lot of boomers will try to tell you shit games like Morrowwind have """good gameplay""".

From your own link, asshat.

Poor retarded table-slapper can't into retroactive naming schemes

now because I can emulate all that shit and there's the internet to find out about games, even if you say the best games are on ps2, you would be able to play all the games you wanted because they were expensive and there was no good way to find about games other than publicity or friends recommendations, everyone played just gta sa, resident evil 4 and some other big games

Attached: 1566659706212.jpg (567x422, 141K)

I guess "boomer" but it's not like I haven't owned a vast majority of things from every generation since.

Stay mad faggot, everyone knows it used to be called PSX but now it's not. PS1 was a shit tier console anyways

Everyone just called it, "PlayStation." There was no naming convention yet and the PSX just made it sound like a Terminator. Everybody called the NES the "Nintendo" too, not the "NES."

>that sweet boomer/millenial crossover spot

Boomer and Ancient

Not where I'm from. It was always called PSX here. Even my father called it PSX and he knew nothing about playstation because when you bought games from stores, it says PSX on the receipt.

fuck you i'm not that old

Are you a dirty European?

I'm a Boomlennial who also grew up playing the classics and still plays video games. You may not like it, but this is what enlightenment looks like.

Attached: image.jpg (686x599, 195K)

it's psx and i'm clean european, i shower every day

My brother.

new york.

>Everyone just called it, "PlayStation."
When speaking. And when you were typing it, it was shortened to PSX.

We're talking about America here, not some backwater krauthole, Hans. PlayStation Underground was what we had in the civilized world.

Adding millennials to the meme ruins it. The whole reason it's funny is implying there is a difference between a 23 year old zoomer and 24 year old boomer

Genesis and SNES still look, sound and play better than most current gen trash. Early 3D aged like milk and ancient games that weren't pong are completely forgotten about. Boomers run this shit.

>More wojaks
Fucking kill yourself

I'm between ancient gamer and boomer. I feel like dying.

There are games that came out this year that are better than the entire collective libraries of anything from SNES, Genesis, Master System, and NES.

Millenial for having the most variety

Boomer.

t. Started on the ZX Spectrum, gamed on early PC and PS1 back in the day.

We called it a PS1 then because we knew it was so good they were going to make another one.

>no atari
lame

Why is the Sega Master System never included, it had better games than the NES.

The best differential for each generation:
>Ancient
Arcade culture
>Boomer
Couch Multiplayer
>Millenial
Portable consoles
>Zoomer
Indie games

Ancient Boomer. Being alive in time to witness the only time video games were actually good, between the start of generation 3 and the end of generation 5. Though the PS2 had some decent games.

These generation memes are getting out of hand. The latest Boomers would have been teenagers by the time the Odyssey came out. Gen X would have grown up with console gens 1-3, Millenials would have grown up with 3-6, and Zoomers 6-8.
I got a GameCube when I was 6, in 2004

Get the fuck out underage.

they are reddit though

I'm 21

You're still underage, FUCK OFF NOW

Lazy wojak spam in the place of arguments or even quality insults is a uniquely Yea Forums thing.

I need a break from this site, anyway. Thanks
me leaving isn't gonna make all those wasted years go with me

What is this trash? Ps3/x360 are boomer as fuck

Early 90's best generation for vidya. PS1 and N64 were peak comfy childhood consoles.

Look at all these fucking zoomers still swimming inside dad's testicles.

SNES to Dreamcast

k, see you tomorrow

Was this image made her for the sake of irony or was this a real thing someone made with genuine intention I cant tell the difference anymore someone help me please

These generational things are skewed by what you consider "growing up with." I'm 29, so my technically my childhood lines up with N64/PS1, but I have more fondness for my teenage years with Xbox/PS2/GC,

Attached: 3x3 vidya.jpg (920x920, 264K)

Kill yourself, Wojakshitter.

?
Us 99 guys (the last boomer generation) were 7 years old when they launched, and for most of us ps3/x360 was our first console

So what comes after Zoomer?

While I love the SNES with all my heart, but I'm gonna give the best generation to "Millennial" (PS2/Gamecube/Xbox/Dreamcast/GBA) for its depth and variety. The experimental period of PS1 and N64 was hammered out and what makes good 3D games was finally getting into swing, before it became cookie cutter "copy everything successful down to the drab brown textures". Strong and lasting.
Some of the best computer games came out in this era as well as technology hit its stride and developers weren't afraid to stretch their wings and experiment.

You're not a boomer you fucking retard.

Mutant cockroaches, after the zoomer retards bring about the end of the world.

the one i grew up with

Yet you can't seem to name one? I'll name a few for you on my end though and I won't even use their mainline mascots: Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, Langrisser, Secret of Mana. All of these have so much more to them than handholding quest marker AAA bullshit with generic symphonies twanging in the background.

not to mention visually, things started looking like what they were representing. it's telling that 6th gen is the first gen we can get remasters from instead of remakes.

Man come on, if you were born in 1999 you should have started with the Playstation 1 or N64. If you're gonna game late, might as well start with the real greats first.
Bonus points if you add Windows 98 to that mix.

late PS1 and early PS2.
I feel like game industry took a big hit after 2004 when GTASA came out and every conpany was trying to do open world meme.
Ive stopped liking games since then

Yes.

Grew up with Atari and NES in the 90s. Good times

Nothing.
They'll be the end of us all.

this shit is wrong. many millennials also played games with the first gen japanese consoles. it must be made by a zoomer.

Boomer era pc games were the absolute peak

The Immortal Personal Computer Master Race.

Boomers and millenials are the same thing. The only distinction is early boomers and late boomers. Late boomers are fags though. They're practically zoomers.

Early boomers and ancient gamers had access to all the consoles. We lived through all of them. Therefore we have the most based opinions on video games and have the benefit of context. Zoomers and most late boomers are dummies and their opinions on video games should generally be disregarded.

I think durranon is trolling. Has to be.

Based

Bruh, I was born in 1999 as well, and you're giving all of us '99 babies a bad name...

For me it's the SNES, the greatest console of all time.

best answer that is also poorly worded.

...not named Genesis, at least.

No Gamesis

Millennial. Ancient and Boomer games are basic and they don't allow me to escape from my shitty life. Anything zoomer related is cancer, especially microtransactions

>boomer

that's millennial

Boomer

no thats gen x, but yea theres a lot of dummies in this thread

Well for the most part, when people say boomer here they really mean millennial (late 80's to 00's), also note that it's referring to the culture/norm exposure rather than birth. X-ers are mostly exposed to 60s to early 80's culture.

now draw a PC lasting throughout all of them and shitting on the 4 generations of console brainlets

Why do gamers try to make up stupid their own generation theory?

Generations are just divided by a 15-20 year span, nothing else, your personal experience or shared cultures are irrelevant there.

There are in-betweeners in the start years and the end years for each generation, but they tend to have more in common with the following groups than the preceding ones.

Old boomer?
You're just a millennial.
Late millennial?
You're probably a zoomer.

New gens can emulate old gens so the best gen is always the newest

Also add the fact that the boomer meme is most likely made by a z-er. An early millennial/Gen x-er doesn't drink fucking Monster.

Due to changes in personal experiences, our experiences of the world are different and generally divided by generations. We can play the same game and hold markedly different opinions of it, opinions that will be similar to our peer group.

Congratulations, you have finally figured out that "generations" are a spectrum to begin with because humans literally never stop breeding every second of the day.

PS2 era.

>arcade
literal shit

unironically Zoomers

>he didn't take part in arcade turf wars with his bros

a-user I...

>Everyone just called it, "PlayStation."
No

Attached: Its psx you underage faggot.jpg (1784x6512, 2.53M)

couch gaming is way better
arcade is a money sink. The most jewish part of gaming history.

Attached: rrranking.jpg (825x619, 166K)

Yes

This makes it seem like the ones to the left wouldn't keep up with new consoles. Boomer gamers mostly kept on with newer systems over the years, at least if they're posting on Yea Forums.
my hacked snes mini makes me feel like a kid again, the controllers are great
