Are you guys getting it?
It actually looks fun, running from the cops in a custom sports car in a miami-style city

>Made by Ghost games
I'll wait for reviews before even considering to pirate the game.
Looks like a reskin of Payback.
any nfs since NFSU is shit for retarded casuals. Your nostalgia goggles keep you from seeing how shit games with shit driving they are.
Carbon was pretty good. But underground 1 and 2 are great.
>racing games
Imagine being such a normie. I bet you even work at mcdonalds like a nice wagie
I'll probably get it just to rice the hell out of my actual car and then get bored in 5-10 hours and never touch it again because I highly doubt EA will ever get close to the magic that was the earlier NFS games.
Hoping that the RF model of the Miata is in.
This. They had godawful driving physics.
need for speed in general has always been a casual racer series don't know wtf you're going on about
>handling of a mobile game
would you believe me if i tell you that underground 2 has more accurate handling than anything that came after?
Day one if it's not always online, if not i i'll not buy it.
I've been hearing they killed brake to drift, I can only hope that's true.
>it actually looks fun
It looks exactly like the last one and the one before that and who knows for how long this shit joke has been going on for
When will you fucking learn?
EA never cared about you. They never did and never will. If you're getting sucked in by marketing of a product as low brow as this, you might as well buy FIFA yearly too, because god knows how you managed to develop Stockholm syndrome for a series that has taken such a fall as NFS. Especially considering Ghost's current track record.
The series lost any sense of identity and dignity it had left long ago. Only deluded post-HP2010 idiots will defend how modern NFS is the exact same run of the mill sandbox racer marketed to Generation Z kids as The Crew and Forza Horizon are. No memorable moments in what you could seldom call a "story". No particular sense of atmosphere that isn't just slapping post-processing effects together. No sense of progression, no locales that feel immersive yet fun to play, not even music handpicked by people with a smidge of taste. All you get is a shallow husk of nothing.
And let's not forget that you can't trust Ghost to make a handling model that is worth shit. You have seen the grating mess that is 2015's drift-2-win physics, which feel more like kicking a bar of soap across one end of the street to the other when it's not behaving like a brick. It took them a fucking post-launch update to add manual transmission, too.
You will never get a game that recaptures the magic of Underground. Not from EA. No ammount of MTX you pay them will change the fact they are using you. Because let's be real, there WILL be microtransactions shoehorned in.
Do yourself a favour. Play the Black Box titles instead, as well as the classic NFS titles preceding them. Remind yourself of what a quality product is.
I don't know why, but I've always found pastas rather annoying, even if this one is technically right.
i'm pretty convinced these are shill threads and that's why i posted it, but i could be wrong
i haven't even cared to see what it actually looks like ingame yet just because of that cover art. that pink and blue synthwave theme is so cringe i'm clearly not their target audience
I can't help but feel like Yea Forums has become pretty paranoid of shills in the last few years. Like, making a thread about a game someone doesn't like now equates to "shill thread", you know what I mean?
I mean, I don't have much faith in this game either, but this really could just be someone legitimately curious about the game for all we know.
Wonder how trend all started in the first place.
Why hasn't EA axed Ghost Games yet? They didn't release a single good game so far
this trend*
If I wanted simulation driving, I'd go for Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, Forza Motorsport.
Sometimes you just want some arcade fun.
I had a lot of fun with Payback and just ricing every car I got, so I'll most likely get Heat as well.
I don't have particularly high standards for the racing mechanics themselves nor have I played any other NFS games aside from Most Wanted on the psp, so I don't have high expectations from the rest of the franchise either.
Hopefully EA cools down on the microtransactions now that they've been in trouble for it all
>are you xirs getting EA's latest always-online game-as-a-service? me (they/them) and my friends will be buying all the awesome microtransactions for sure! smash the patriarchy!
Minecraft yourself.
there is a general distaste for AAA titles and companies here from what I know, and i've seen a lot of unnatural looking threads about games noone here would usually give a shit about, like the greek assassin's creed or horizon zero dawn
when you see this stuff from experience you kinda get a sense of distrust
I haven't bought an NFS game since... Prostreet? Undercover? Which came first?
Shift came bundled with my PS3 and it was alright.
I'm eyeing this up though, will definitely be waiting on reveals/reviews/footage closer to release date before I start seriously considering though.
If you're so bigoted and racist as to imply that We Wuz Greeks was astroturfed, then I'm sorry but we can't have you in an inclusive community like 4channel.
then you're just very stupid or very innocent, or both
it's common knowledge that big AAA publishers pay people to market their games here and on other online forums
Yes, looks fun
What car are you going to rice out Yea Forums?
ea.com
This, Carbon was so much fun
Yes, I will get it. When it's $10 or less
I enjoy the optimistic view (you) have on life still user where you do not yet assume someone is deranged, sad and pointless enough to do this completely for free. You have a heart of gold.
>Forza
>Simulation
Don't let the rfactor/iracing crowd hear you say that.
Why can't modern racing games be comfy? Nothing is ever gonna be like the early 2000s with midtown madness, NFS, grand turismo..
It's fucking shit, just like the last dozen NFS games. STOP BUYING GARBAGE. I BEG YOU. PLEASE.
>shit car selection
>nigger rap
>forced cops that don't do anything
>cringe fiesta cutscenes
>world's single worst handling model with press-to-drift AGAIN
>on rails as fuck, not satisfying at all
>always online
>microtransations
i'm sure they (you) do it for free, shill
>press-to-drift
I hate this shit, finding games that nail the feel of drifting is hard. You're stuck with simulators and requiring a wheel for now.
Looks like the same complete garbage NFS has been since Carbon.
I don't know what in the fuck is wrong with all those people who say Hot Pursuit 2010 or Most Wanted 2012 were good. They were also complete garbage.
I don't care, it has a strong female protagonist, we need to support more inclusivity in games.
at some point you outgrow drifting and find more satisfaction in nailing the perfect apex, precise throttle control, and finding the cleanest racing line
i no longer care how shitty drifting mechanics are because i don't want to drift at all
>world's single worst handling model with press-to-drift AGAIN
>on rails as fuck, not satisfying at all
THIS SO MUCH HOLY FUCK
Every fucking track is a 10 mile straight line with slight kinks that you lmao press brake to drift through without losing any speed at all. It's so fucking awful.
>be me
>buy Hot Pursuit 2010
>do 2 races
>hate it
>decide to concoct an experiment
>start third race
>hold down the gas
>do nothing else
>come 2nd
the problem is that drifting makes you go faster in these games
>at some point you outgrow drifting
If I want to go fast and race I'll just drive my car or go go-karting.
that's because these games are shit, user. they're shit. stop eating shit. stop it.
>living close enough to a kart track or a full track that does open track days
look at this fucking moneybags
Dude just fucking play assetta corsa if you want a simulator. NFS serier has never not been arcady
ironic shitposting is still shitposting
NFS has always been arcadey. it has not been full retard "hold gas and jerk off to win" arcadey, with exceptions like U2's wall riding. if arcade to simulation is a spectrum of handling, like the autism spectrum, then ideally NFS should be somewhere around "star trek fan who hates data because THEY wanted to fuck tasha yar," and right now it's at "literally chris chan."
>payback 2.0
no fuck these pretend racing sim games
>industry tards finally hop on the 80s nostalgia dick, 10 years too late
Codies will save us, r-right?
The absolute fucking state of shills.
>if you don't want brake to drift garbage it means you want a simulator
early NFSs had pretty down to earth physics with Porsche Unleashed pushing really hard to sim side
UG2 has surprisingly realistic-ish physics too, but of course they dumbed that down for MW and Carbon
Well wait, how 'do' I talk about vidya without sounding like a shill anyway? If I had to make a guess, not making every thread with the same pic for one, I can definitely see how that screams it.
Underground is when the series went to shit. I dont care about cheapass ricer cars driving around at the docks at night. Give me exotics and gorgeous vistas. You know, the old NFS.
No Supra no buy
I actually find it kinda funny that they made fun of Ricers only three games before they went right back on that and embraced it.
youtu.be
>brand cars
Yeah, it's a shame. For many people Underground is their first NFS game and they see it as quintessential NFS gameplay.
You think if they truly ever did go back to their roots and make another game about just simply racing sports and super cars with no other catches, it would do well in this day and age?
youtu.be
theres casual and then theres where entire driving is hold up arrow tap left and right and press nitro button that NFS is known for.
Well they made several half assed attempts, but if they truly committed to it and have a clear focus, I could see it working. Just keep it simple. Supercars and roadsters only. Police chases. No dumb open world, but genuinely unique tracks throughout the world with plenty of hidden shortcuts. Throw in a banging EDM ost and there you go. No need for tuning and neon.
forza horizon 4 in miami with cops
>not making an 80's racer set in Miami with classic aswell as concept cars
not impressed
Dude, cars in the 1980s sucked and you had no tuning scene to speak of.
Tuning is gay
>We'll never get another track like Lost Vegas or any of these others again
I can't even believe how good the original series was at making tracks that made you wanna play them, really showcasing the arcade racer at heart nature. Imagine how these would look with modern day tech.
youtu.be
youtu.be
youtu.be
it's fiction, you could make up your own "tuning scene"
and it's not like cars behave realistically in NFS, I don't think it matters how shitty they were, it's not a racing simulator. i just think the market is oversaturated with modern racers
Atlantica and Aquatica are so fucking cool. Always felt like they intentionally made that environment as a shiny, clean and white future-cool contrast to Empire City (shame on you for not posting that one) and the later Zone Industrielle.
>aquatica
Fucking based
>Are you guys getting it?
I'm interested in it, but I want to see what people say about the game after the first week. I don't expect big things from the game, but I'm looking for a decent arcade racer to go into my rotation with The Crew 2 so I can bench Horizon 4 for a bit.
>Supra
I think you mean Z4, user
Also holy FUCK Aquatica has a cool skybox, I wish the PC versions of NFS3 and 4 hadn't messed with the skies and lighting so much. The PS1 versions are legit low poly works of art.
Well I can definitely post em now.

If they keep the shitty upgrade system from Payback then it goes into the trash.
No kidding. The reflections on the cars in III are also wonderful
Zoomers will never get to experience the golden age of NFS. Porsche unleashed was amazing as well.
youtube.com
>modern NFS will never elicit such pure, unbridled levels of SOUL
No the Toyota Supra. Japanese sports car that use the same base and some parts as the Z4. However, completely tuned and setup by Toyota so it doesn't feel like a BMW at all.
BMW, the company that also helped building the 2JZ
I've actually seen those reflections on PC, but only once when I accidentally the whole Glide wrapper and wound up with a half busted game that largely resembled the PS1 version with darker skies and the normal car texture totally gone and replaced with a reflective one. A neat experience for sure but I never managed to recreate it.
>tfw my first game was the first game
It may have not been the 3DO original, but the Playstation version was better anyway. Funnily enough the only ones I never got to have back then was II and Porsche Unleashed, guess we just never got around to buying copies of those. I should probably fix that soon. But yeah, I have many memories with the original series, especially with the first one and III.
That menu design was so fucking cool in III.
youtu.be
For me, it's NFS High stakes.
NFS3's interface is so fucking great in general, even the mouse-driven PC version retains most of it. Underneath it's so simple, given the game it's a part of- pick your mode, car, opponents, options, and go race. But the fucking style it oozes from every shadowy corner (showing up in even higher contrast on an old school CRT), the satisfying clicks and whooshes as you change options and confirm selections, and the pulsing soundtrack courtesy of Rom Di Prisco in the background the whole time- there's really nothing like it. NFS2 laid the groundworks for it of course, but 3 is just perfect.
youtube.com
no
Oh and don't forget how before the event begins, you're met with a tachometer that won't move until you press start, where it proceeds to rev and then load up the track, emphasizing the fact that you and your car of choice are ready to race.
God I love that shit. That and how the setup menu in changes as you set your options and track of choice.
I love making webms sometimes.
>custom sports car
yikes
I SAID RIGHT NOW
This really
That is one ugly looking Z4.
Are you kidding? People have been tuning and modifying cars since the 50s. Japanese cars didn't come to prominence in the west until the mid 90s, but the concept of tuning existed long before then.
I don’t think you projected hard enough there, buddy.
>No cards
>Upgrades, cars and customization options all can only be bought with in-game currency
>Actually varied open World
>Both legal and illegal street racing
>Cops
Yup, I'm thinking NFS is back
Forza Horizon is fucking amazing and I'll never undersstand why it gets lumped alongside garbage like NFS and The crew by you retards. Horizon is the kind of stuff NFS wishes it was.
Horizon is a solid driving model overshadowed by increasingly mediocre open worlds, a lack of meaningful progression, and Playground's complete incompetence regarding literally anything related to multiplayer.
>shit tier driving model in which cars have no feeling of weight
>garbage soundtrack
>garbage car list
>spent money licensing hypebeast clothes instead of licensing more car parts (I find it ridicolous that there isn't a single Advan, Rays or Enkei wheel in the list)
I doubt I'll even pirate it
I never really played Horizon for the multiplayer so I can't comment on that. The main draw of the series to me is choosing a car I really like, putting it in cockpit view, putting on a podcast or a setlist I enjoy, turn off all hud elements and just drive around for hours. No other open-world racer can really give me that kind of experience. I do agree that the actual map peaked with FH3 and FH4 was a regression though.
I can't really enjoy that because if I'm going to drive aimlessly I tend to do it in reality, but moreover I can't get immersed in Horizon's worlds because they're so obviously just what the devs thought counted as race courses intermixed with condensed versions of a few real life cities and landmarks. Nevermind parking garages or dealerships or any interesting roadside details like you might find in TDU- did you know there isn't a single gas station in the entirety of FH4? How do you forget gas stations as details in a racing game?
